Not to be too flippant, but this is just an RP, and Tip seems fine with everything that has been done so far. So, in the name of casual, it's just an HP roleplay. As long as nobody is going mental with magic or something (and Tip approves all the minor things), I don't think there's a need to take issue with every little thing that hasn't been explicitly mentioned by the HP universe.

I'm not taking issue with it, just pointing it out. I'm fine with the GM making things up and adding whatever they please to this already large and richly developed universe. The only thing I take issue with is when things contradict the source material, which hasn't been happening too much yet, at least not from the GM.

"Why am I so amazing? Because I'm West Philadelphia born and raised, in the playground is where I play most of my games..."
Name: Darius Di' Stefano
Appearance: 5'8", athletic build, olive-colored skin, black of hair, medium length and usually kept in a ponytail.
Age:16
Year:6th

House: Gryffindor

Classes taken:
Defense Against the Dark Arts
Transfiguration
Potions
Charms
Astrology

Short bio:
Darius was born in Italy to magical parents. His father was an auror and his mother was a potions master, giving him talents in both areas. As he was growing up, his parents taught him how to embrace his talents and how to live in a muggle world where people were not likely to understand him and his talents. When he became of age, he was enrolled in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Going through Platform 9-3/4 was nothing new to him. As he waltzed through the mythical gate, he knew he was ready to embrace the world he was born for.

Personality:
Darius is playful but not overly mischievous. He is rather confident in himself and can come off to those that do not know him as arrogant. He is polite to his seniors and caring for his juniors. Brave, yet not foolhardy. Strict with himself yet lenient with others.

Wand:
Cypress, with a unicorn tail hair core

Patronus: A dog (Beagle)

Hobbies:He play Quidditch for Gryffindor. His main role is a chaser but he can be employed as a beater or the makeshift seeker if needed.

Pets: A polar bear cub. Pure white in color and weighing about 200 lbs. (I can most definitely change this to something else if it is too...outlandish ^^ )

Personal possessions:

An Yajirushi, imported directly from Japan after the 2014 Quidditch World Cup. He uses this as his day-to-day broom.
Small pendent, encrusted with one sapphire.

Relationships:
To be made in game

Madison can preform the Patronus Charm? I'm impressed, that's pretty incredibly advanced and oddly specific magic.

Mhm. Well, Ravenclaw, right? Besides, Harry Potter could do it in fifth year if I'm not correct?

@Makarov

Accepted!

Lol well it was his house. and he graduated before me by a year lol. But um no everything should be good, just parent issues that made him leave the house cause he didn't want to get caught up in anything in case the cops were called since he's about to leave for a job thing on Tuesday and that could kill his job that he's worked really hard for, so he wanted to come stay somewhere at least till things cooled down if not till he leaves for his job so that he knew he'd be safe job wise, but since he's over I probably won't be able to post until he's gone, if need be I give...Crap I don't really know anyone here to hand my character over to for at least till I get back...Ummmmm...Well some Hufflepuff that wants to be friends with Michael can take over him for a bit and just PM me what you're doing that way I know, I would really appreciate someone doing this so my character doesn't get excluded while I deal with stuff! Many thanks to whoever steps up, though I will still be around OOC wise and PM wise just can't take the time for a IC post sorry again for any inconvenience!

Well yeah but just about everybody was surprised he could pull off such highly complicated magic. But I think the point being raised is more about the application of the charm rather than anyone's ability to use it. While we know it was used in wartime for messages, it seems a little much for this particular use. Why do some ridiculously advanced magic when you could leave a note?

By the way hi everybody! I've been traveling all weekend so haven't gotten to post but I will!

@Ciphra hey sorry to hear about that. Hopefully he gets through everything fine. I can help you out but it might be a few hours before I can do any posting or writing cause I'm writing from a terrible phone but I'll check out our CSes and PM you

Before I post something I just want to make sure what time of the year the RP is taking place. I've read a post saying its already in mid term, and but reading some posts kinda makes me feel like the first term just started. So which one is it?

A student should not normally be able to preform one of the most incredibly advanced magics in the HP universe. Harry not only possessed a piece of one of the most powerful wizards to exist in centuries inside of him, but he was also the Chosen One, and trained personally by a member of the Order of the Phoenix who specialized in Defence Against the Dark Arts.

Not to mention, there isn't even any reason she would be taught it. It isn't taught in school, and there aren't a whole lot of Dementors flying around now that the crisis is over.

And before anybody brings up the small, elite few in Dumbledore's Army who managed to learn the Patronus Charm, this was during one of the largest Dark Arts crises of Britain's magical history, and they were personally taught by a piece of Lord Voldemort who was trained by a member of the Order of the Phoenix and was also the Chosen One.

That's kind of a big deal.

EDIT: To be certain, I should mention that I'm not trying to cause trouble or anything. It just sort of bothers me that Madison just casually preforms what nearly the entire wizarding population is incapable of casting, just so she could leave her friend a note. This is silly.

I just want to say that everyone should call hatakekuro Blondie from now on. Just saying.

Also, since my character is a 5/6th year...should I just start by saying he had some issues he had to take care of and thus was out of school for a while or how would character relationships work?

@Tatsua Aiisen You shouldn't be worried about starting a debate, otherwise we'd be stuck wondering 'what is dis?' and twiddle our thumbs until nothing happens, that being said . . .

I agree and disagree with you. From what I've seen, the Patronus is a relatively simple spell to learn circa sixth year. From what I've read, the Harry Potter world is heavily dependent on innate talent for casting magic. Who teaches you what actually plays little part in casting the more advanced spells. Honestly, Harry learned it in his third year while the others learned it in their fifth year; irregardless of the circumstances, a sixth year learning about it shouldn't be too unusual - impressive, yes, but not unusual - as they're one year close to graduation.

As for why and how they learned it, that is entirely up to the person playing. I just want to point out that it's not impossible or unusual for a sixth year to learn said spell.

Also I have to laugh at Dumbledore's Army being called 'elite' - that's one gross overstatement, and Harry himself was not exactly a prodigy with magic. Talented, yes, but overall not very impressive; his magical talent was based on his dueling skills and reflexes rather than any actual genius in spell casting.

It's great to see somebody who's actually good at talking about these things. Naturally, I disagree with you, as for my reasons...
