Derp already has a droid running around, so that part's his call. I don't see a problem with the character, though I would generally prefer a member of the platoon.

Hey, just out of curiosity, do we have a plan about what planets we will be having battles on or what kind of missions we will be doing?

I have a couple issues with the Ubese character.

This is an RP about an infantry squad and here's this huge badass freakin' killer Ubese bounty hunter getting slapped into an infantry outfit with the grunts? It doesn't really match up. That and the Ubese actually participated in the Great Jedi Purge...against the Jedi. Not sure they're much trusted by the Rebel Alliance given that situation -- it's not like Slooga, who was basically forced into working with the Alliance, either.

But the real sticking point is that this character clearly is enough of a menace to the Empire to have a huge price on his head and a big huge name and it sort of conflicts with the whole point of the RP in the sense that it is about the Poor Bloody Infantry and I don't think this character really qualifies for the PBI in that sense any more than a Mando would for the same exact reasons.

Dob and Antares are good to go. If people want to play standing members of the unit instead of brand new replacements, we'll just make the replacements largely faceless. ;)

Edit: Worst comes to worst, I'll play that replacement Lieutenant myself...he won't last long that way, though.

Yeah, the pirates, like Slooga, are not the focus of the RP. Characters need to be members of the platoon. If your character wants to go from pirate to platoon, that works, though I'm not sure how it'd work if he were intruder crew. Maybe they took him as a replacement when he pissed off Slooga, and the platoon was like, "Welp, he's army. So he's our concern, not yours."

Gotta get replacements from somewhere and the Rebel Alliance wasn't picky where it got them from. Alternatively part of a separate gang that joined the Rebel Alliance elsewhere and is a new addition

Anyway, for anyone else considering getting on, what we're really short on is a sergeant of some sort to take command temporarily and women. Hopefully, those requests can be filled.

Why can't a pirate be both? :P

I have a hard time seeing an Uslamer getting off world much to be a pirate, as opposed to a swoop ganger and so forth staying on the world, and I don't think it makes sense for a non-Uslamer to climb the ranks except in the course of the plot, if one is better suited to that role in the future. A lot of the platoon's culture has to do with the fight on Uslam. Even an Uslamer pirate just doesn't feel right in that Uslam culture doesn't seem really suited to it -- they're miners and the like, after all.

Another fine idea is one of the Jango Fett clones; toward the end of the Clone Wars, Palpatine started mass cloning that wasn't remotely as good as the Kamino products from Jango Fett DNA, and the quality suffered. But a Jango Fett clone, even with accelerated aging, is still a tough, dangerous opponent. Of course, the Empire is also running experiments on these guys, such as the Dark Trooper project, so it might be interesting to see how someone might bring that into play.

That, of course, would make for a very interesting officer or replacement NCO. Just a thought, because the first run of Fett clones were very elite troops.

Sorry I just have to butt in real quickly. A lot of cloning was completely shut down after the Clone Wars due to a small rebellion on the Kamino cloning facilities. Most clones still in service rose the ranks and semi-trained soldiers replaced them. Also, Dark Troopers in the generic sense were usually battle droids actually. There were some Dark Troopers who were cybernetically enhanced clones in exoskeletons, but those were rare.
