Right. But the point is, those clones all exist and there's a reason for a Fett Clone to make an escape and go over to the other side, especially if cybernetic surgery doesn't appeal to them. Clones don't need to be everywhere and the project doesn't have to be happening on a massive scale for that sort of story to be made a background for a character.

Well the thing is, a renegade clone is maybe the rarest things you can find in the galaxy. They loved the Republic. You would too if everything you knew was to love your country. It's almost Orwellian how indoctrinated they are. Boba Fett is the one exception, only because he was allowed to be raised by his "father." Clones aren't the kind to just run away from home.

Able was around in the comics, and if we go by some of the other work, other clones escaped as well during the Dark Times. So I'm not ruling it out.

Incidentally, in regards to HK-51, one of the first things Besk will do is ask the new droid technician to turn on the droid. We can modify, perhaps, to say that they were keeping the droid, acquired god knows where, in the hold?

No prob. We got the RP rolling, but the way I see it, replacements and veterans can be introduced as necessary.

Is this RP still taking participants?

And if yes, is the LRB (Light repeating blaster) or explosives specialist position still open?

There's no LRB specialist in yet, so feel free to throw in.

Rock. Incidentally, as things go, if anyone wants to play an idealistic Core Worlder, like an Alderaanian or some cocky Corellian, go right ahead. :)

Edit: The replacement depot is intentionally patterned on the sort of thing that was done in WWII, Korea and Vietnam, which was the individual replacement system. Heinlein also worked it into his writing, so it is a bit of a nod to Heinlein as well as a sufficiently uncaring, unfeeling and fundamentally foolish system. I'm not sure the entire Alliance uses it, but for now it suits our plot.

Ok? Bit confused by what you mean when you say 'modify' and 'we can'

It means that it makes more sense to activate the droid in a few posts. The bios aren't entirely making sense and need to be retconned just a tad.

Incidentally, in the United States Army (as far as I know, it's just the Army) there is a tradition in some units to give a challenge-response salute. For example, if you are a paratrooper in the 82nd, where this started as a way to further show themselves as more gung ho than 'legs', you'd call out "Airborne!" as you saluted an officer, and the officer would reply, "All the way!"

Other units in the Army do it too; the Rangers, obviously, go with "Lead the Way!" and 1st Cavalry goes with "Gary Owen!" and so on and so forth.

Well, Heinlein seemed to like this and it even shows up in the Paul Verhoeven movie as well, so I'm adopting it into Liberator culture as, "Liberators!" "Shoot to kill!" (because the average Imperial Stormtrooper doesn't.)

Question, am I allowed to have a turncoat stormtrooper who was born on Uslam and betrayed the Empire once word got out of her planet being invaded?

We already have an imperial turncoat and Stormtroopers are pretty indoctrinated. I'm not entirely sure about that, personally.

Besides, massive retraining in marksmanship -- wouldn't be worth the cost. ;)

Hey, why do you think I am taking the spot with the machinegun? Barely any aiming required :P

Alright then, I needed something to have my character have military experience and a militia sounds so dull but I guess I'll have to take what I can get... :P

The Uslam Liberators are military experience. They fought hard under a heavy assault by Imperial forces and the survivors lived to tell the tale. Prior to that, they were working as guerrillas. I mean, your character could be a veteran of the organization the Sarge is from, if Ruby's cool with the idea, or even prior service Imperial Army that got out after a hitch.
