Oh, hey! One of these again. It's cool you guys are picking it back up. Hopefully it doesn't fizzle out this time.

Anyways, I am all for slowness; it gives time to plan tactics and, really, some people have work and stuff so it's very convenient for most players, even if it drags for a long time.

I would be pretty glad to participate, as a minor nation. Or maybe as a rebel group on a colony or something (even though that virtually isn't sustainable by WiR and would take up more stat magic).

You will have to wait 13 years in-game time to play your favourite nation.
Although maybe you could play as a colony for a few years ? :p

That said, how will colonies be handled? I know there are colonial administrations but they are still following the orders of a centralized monarchy and are regulated by decisions in, say, the British Parliament; at least partially. Will they be independently controlled by players?

even though in other wirs they were entirely controlled by players n stuff

Colonies and their governors are controlled by their respective owners. When the time comes, will play as the American revolution and the nation until somebody else swoops in. Also, i was thinking of this just for theme: Can you all go by your actual leader's names as well as cast real and historically influential people in your plots? I think it adds to the history if it's the same toolkit, just a different contraption. In any case, due to the fact that I want to get major powers filled before minor as so we can the big players established, and that I have heard interest expression of being a minor power, I think we might go with the European Powers, and I could play the native nations.

Also, I will be releasing a stat system outline shortly. I will need some peer edit. I appreciate you helping me along through this and your contributions to the framework as it places the burden as a more spread out and manageable task rather than a looming toil that I must get through to satisfy the internet.

For war, heres what I have (per battle)
Note: Cities will be explained later
YOU have to: (Submit in PM as so your enemy does not know of your plans. With proper spying, I may leak this to your enemy. For NPC battles which I play, I will generally write the orders according to what they would have done according to history.)
Nation Name and Flag:
Mission Objectives (Macro or micro as you want, must be in list format):
Attacking Garrison: (The city with an armory that you are attacking from)
Supply Stop 1: (The nearest city to your garrison in the closest cardinal direction (N, S, E, W). ignore if that city is your target)
Supply Stop 2: (The nearest city in the nearest cardinal direction of where your target is, again, ignore if that means your target)
Supply Stop 3,4, 5...: (The same as above, repeat until you reach your target destination)
Target: (Make sure your supply stops are coherent)
Size of Army: (Total)
List of Artillery Regiments and their instruments (10 Big cannons, 5 Small Cannons, 3 Firecrackers) and population
List of Infantry Regiments and their population
List of Cavalry Regiments and their population (Excludes horses, donkeys, or whatever you may be riding)
List of Naval Regiments and their vehicles (10 frigates, 3 flagships, 800 canoes, 2 ironclads)
List of Other Regiments and their population/instruments/vehicles (I will independently calculate these)
You must have the listed regiments in your city's garrison! You cannot send 3 artillery regiments from New York to Boston if you only have 5 infantry regiments in New York!
Total Distance of March*: (Go by driving distance, as straight lines would mean that you can march through the Gobi desert. I find these to be more accurate as it was the trails on which these armies traveled that eventually formed our roads. not perfect, but better at least. In kilometers!)
(Optional, saves me time) Length of March:
Infantry/Artillery/Cavlary:
Let d be the distance* in kilometers of the march
Let s be the amount of supply stops on the march, excluding the target and garrison of origin
Let p be the combined population of all infantry/cavalry/artillery regiments
Let w be the weeks needed to complete a joint cavalry, artillery, and infantry march. (Round up to the nearest day)
Let wi be the weeks needed to complete an infantry march. (Round up to the nearest day)
Let wc be the weeks needed to complete a cavalry march. (Round up to the nearest day)
Let wa be the weeks needed to complete an artillery march. (Round up to the nearest day)
Let wic bethe weeks needed to complete a successful joint infantry and cavalry march. (Round up to the nearest day)
Let wia be the weeks needed to complete a successful joint infantry and artillery march. (Round up to the nearest day)
Let wca be the weeks needed to complete a successful joint cavalry and artillery march. (Round up to the nearest day)

[(d/250)+(s/2)]•(p/100,000•1.15)=w
[(d/250)+(s/2)]•(p/100,000)•.9=wi
[(d/250)+(s/2)]•(p/100,000)•.5=wc
[(d/250)+(s/2)]•(p/100,000)•1.5=wa
[(d/250)+(s/2)]•(p/100,000)•.85=
[(d/250)+(s/2)]•(p/100,000)•1.35=
[(d/250)+(s/2)]•(p/100,000)•1.15=wca

Naval:
Note: Naval regiments may only travel between harbor cities.
Let kmph be the nautical kilometers per hour (you may have to covert) your slowestship in all your naval regiments sails.
Let d be the distance in nautical kilometers you must travel to reach your destination.
Let ww be the weeks required to complete a voyage.

d/(kmph•126)=ww

Other:
I will calculate this.

Commanding Officer: (General George Washington, Captain Kimberly Williams if Harkingshire, Lord Simon Simonson)
Battle plans: (Please try to be specific. Make sure to mention how you will complete all of your mission objectives)

Yes, this looks long especially due to the movement equations. If you just punch the numbers in though, it is actually quite short. I recommend you use a calculator for maximum statistical brevity.

I will respond with:
How long it took your troops to the target: (If you fill out the movement equation yourself it is very helpful to me and other Co-GMs, but other factors may be multipliers depending on battle plans and circumstances)
What happened: (A summary of the battle plan, who won, what mission objectives were completed, etc.)
Unexpected events:
Your battle report: (These are always released after the event. I may 'black out' certain bits especially if you are using undiscovered technologies.

For defenders, I use their most recent garrison status report, which will be filed for all major cities at the beginning of the RP and can be changed at any time.

Phew. Textwalls.

Man, this is way more fleshed out and realistic than normal WiR with just dice. Great job. Although I have a question; this determines mostly time, but turns and updates will be, basically, yearly (or, if we stick to an old formula, bianually). Given this, would weeks be taken into account accurately?

I mean, take this as an example: A attacks B from Nothing-Town Garrison. It takes him four weeks to get his troops there. The update is bianual or yearly, so, we see the results of a slight advantage in time, in the final battle report. I'm not saying formulas are bad, it's just that they probably shouldn't be used with time, given that it doesn't reflect in a really expressive manner in the final results.

So I propose this: have a larger effect of time on the battles. Technically, it is sticking a lot to realism; a day of preparations and digging in can be a game changing time. Integrating it all together makes the formulas have a lot more weight.

Also, another question, and sorry for bothering you a lot, but are victories also going to be handled mostly by mathematical formulas? I get that it's accurate, but it may not allow for those random things that happen in war; like a defense of 1 man for every hundred holding for months. I guess I'm just making assumptions here and we still have some element of randomness involved; sorry if we do, and I'm just being bothersome.

Again, great job. I am really looking forward to this. The effort you guys have put into this is impressive.

@Giant Thank you.
1) These marches take awhile. You can also put out multiple of them. I will also try for bi-weeklyupdates, seeing as thy are designed to be less GM work than some copy-pasting battle reports.
2) Battles will have a huge effect
3) There is always some rolling and GM discretion, however, I am trying to minimize random rolls. Sadly, real life dose not account for the 1 v 100.
I am glad you appreciate this, but it is a merely I rough draft I threw out without Co-GM approval. I was hoping for communal input like yours to constantly improve.

Thank you, Dedonus. If anyody could find a similar map of the Americas, Asia, and Africa, that would be ideal. The Ottoman Empire would also be nice to cover.

Found western North America.

I like the realism of it albeit it means more work for the GMs but we have 3 so I think we are covered.

You missed the 'player' part of that. Maybe I'm just lazy, but having to write a long formatted wall of text to do battles is incredibly tedious.

It is actually just number plugging. I could executively handle that very well. Again, most of that is individual written. This Is to spread the workload. It sounds like you are afraid of algebra. Any sensible GM would make you do the writing piece regardless.

The original WiRs had one GM and all you had to do was send in an attack order giving a brief summary of your actions. Now, with 3 GMs, we have to number-plug for 10 minutes and look at a map to plan out how the armies will march, and then we have to write a paragraph + depicting how the planned combat would play out.

EDITOR'S NOTE/PRO MLG TIP
If you want to still keep a more 'advanced' system you could have people send in orders and then separate attack orders that go into more detail depicting how they would like to go through combat, and have them do rolls for said objectives and supply, etc.

I would be doing the rolls taking into account their battle plans. If you have a problem with the length, I urge you to note the 'advanced' tag. I actually only require two paragraphs, some numbers, and a list. You also seem to be the only person critical pf the system.

Alright, so I need this for the final playable nations list:
I need everybody involved in this to give me 3 nations they want to see in action. I will keep an updated list in this post. Also, please try to spread things out. I am hoping that somebody goes the adventurous route and chooses Siam, Qing, and Ottoman. However, this is by no means restrictive, I am just asking you to think outside the Euro.
Russian Empire
Kingdom of Prussia
Dutch Republic
Portuguese Empire
Great Britain
Spanish Empire
Hapsburg Monarchy
Siam
Japanese Empire
Kingdom of France
Kingdom of Denmark
Ottoman Empire
Kingdom of Morocco
