Sorry, but I don't think I can except him. From what I understand about the character he's really not suited for RP's, even if he's a good character otherwise.
Name: Gerhardt, Master of the Hunt Age: 44? Gender: Male Appearance: A Caucasian man with a slight white beard. He wears round spectacles.
Canon, AU, or OC?: Canon Universe of Origin: Bloodborne
Personality: Gerhardt is, above all other things, a cautious man. He is careful in all things, and paranoid, seeing beasts lurking in every shadow ready to strike. Unlike most paranoids, however, he will stoically venture into that darkness to see whether something is actually there or not and kill it if there is. Not much fazes Gerhardt anymore, not after everything he's seen, but when something is horrible enough to get to him he tends to react emotionally. He enjoys helping people, even in situations he thinks are hopeless. Especially in situations he thinks are hopeless. To his deep shame he is completely enamored with the rush of combat, the stench of blood, and the thrill of the hunt, and has a interest in studying and tinkering with all sorts of weapons.
Has a tendency to end his statements with creepy laughter, even if nothing he said was funny even to him.
Abilities/Weapons:
Results of Blood Ministration: Gerhardt is significantly stronger and more durable than a normal human being, being perfectly capable slaying beasts the size of bears with nothing but sustained blows with his bare hands and surviving and fighting with wounds that should be fatal. These wounds can be quickly healed with blood, either through injection it into his veins or being splattered with it. In addition he can tap into a beastly strength inherent in the blood, distorting his hand for a few moments and granting him enough strength to puncture flesh and bone like tissue paper in what is known as a Visceral Attack. He can also transform his own blood into emergency bullets.
It's also left him with a distinctive, pungent scent.
Weaponry Genius: After finding himself in the nightmare of Yharnam Gerhardt discovered that, when it came to melee weapons and firearms, he was a bit of a natural. Even the quirks of the complex trick weapons used by hunters were figured out in a short time. He even picked up how to maintain and enhance them incredibly quickly. He has the potential to pick up any weapon and, given enough time to understand it, use it as though he had been all his life. Perhaps it is the echos carried in the blood of those that came before him that is responsible for this talent?
The weapon he had with him when he followed the sound of a bell into the multiverse were the simple Saw Cleaver and Hunters Pistol.
Art of Quickening: An effect granted by the Old Hunters Bone he carries with him, using the Art of Quickening greatly increases Gerhardt's speed, to the point where he appears to be teleporting. However he can only move like this in short bursts.
Doctor: Admittedly, he has no great knowledge of modern medicine. But he can stop bleeding and sew someone up in a pinch.
Insight: Gerhardt, because of the eyes lining his mind, can see the truth hidden behind illusions. They do not work on him.
Backstory:
A professional doctor that fell sick with a disease even he could not cure, he sought a panacea from the forsaken city of Yharnam. It was in this nightmarish place that he was transformed from a man into a hunter, where he saw things that deadened his senses and opened his mind to eldritch truth, and where he did things that stained him forever in blood.
He doesn't really understand why he refused the First Hunter's offer to free him from the nightmare. Fear, perhaps? Mistrust? Shame for the blood on his hands? Or was it some deep desire to continue the hunt? Whatever his reasons Gerhardt's refusal brought him into conflict with the First Hunter. They fought on that flower covered hill beneath the tree, and when only Gerhardt was left standing the presence hidden in the moon came down to meet him.
When the presence departed he had taken the First Hunters place within the dream. He does not know for how long he was left in this state or how many other hunters came and went. But then, a sound cut through the fog in his mind. A familiar sound, one he hadn't heard in ages. The beckoning sound of a bell, tolling across worlds.
With nary a moments thought the hunter stood up from his chair and followed it.
Faction: I'm thinking factionless at the moment, but that's liable to change.
Had to skip the history part to avoid spoilers. ^^; Please use a hider, it'll hopefully be this month when I get to play the game.
Everything else seems fine though.
Sorry about that. I tried to keep it as vague as possible in case someone hadn't played it yet. I guess the only important thing to know is that he got into the multiverse via Bloodborne's equivalent of summoning a white phantom. I haven't finished reading the thread yet, but who would be summoning hunters in order to siphon their blood for its healing/beasty properties? Does Yggdrasil have a shady underworld?
Personality: Kanji is the type of guy that punches first and will probably punch you again. He's not the smartest of guys and dealing with his short fuse can be a pain. He hides behind a rough exterior but deep down he cares about others even if he doesn't show it that well. He is also quick to jump to the most easily reached conclusion.
Abilities/Weapons: Blunt objects: Carries around a large steel plate. Take-Mikazuchi: Allows him to use electric based attacks, strong physical attacks and can buff defense and attacks. Adept at sewing and knitting.
Take-Mikazuchi is Kanji's Persona. He summons him when he needs to use a spell. Because Take-Mikazuchi is inside Kanji it makes him immune to electricity and his hits are stronger then a normal human.
-Ziodyne: Deals heavy Elec damage to 1 foe.
-Mazionga: Deals medium Elec damage to up to five foes.
-Matarukaja: Increases Attack for a bit.( Himself and 3 others)
-Marakukaja: Increases Defense for a bit.( Himself and 3 others)
Backstory: Kanji helps his mom run a textile shop. After beating up a biker gang, that was keeping his mom up at night, a news story reported that he was with the biker gang. Because he showed up on the news he was next in line to be thrown into the tv to be killed. Before he could be killed by his shadow some classmates entered the tv and saved him. After facing his shadow it turned into Take-Mikazuchi and became his persona. From that day on he joined his classmates and helped them put an end to the midnight channel.
Personality: An avid tokusatsu fan, Masayoshi had adopted many of the ideals shown in such series; Having a kind heart and a strong sense of justice as a result. He is quite theatrical in his ways, mimicking the grandiose actions and words of his heroes. His passion is all his own though, and he is quite willing to show that despite whatever odds are against him. However, he is extremely naive to the point of being clueless when it comes to situations outside of his own moral compass, and his world view is as black and white as one could be (such as treating littering as a great evil on par to world domination).
As a result of not meeting a certain important policeman as the canon Masayoshi had, this Flamenco has not gained a sense of purpose or direction and is instead only relying on those who are around him for guidance.
Abilities/Weapons: Red Axe Training: Masayoshi was trained extensively by famed judo master and Toku star Kaname Joji in hand to hand combat, particularly in regards to defensive styles of fighting.
Samurai Supplies:
Masayoshi has a multitude of office supplies that also serve as weapons and gadgets for Samurai Flamenco. All of Masayoshi's weapons are based off of office supplies and usually don't harm people directly. They are made by Jun Harazuka, a scientist who is an acquaintance of Masayoshi's. These weapons are kept in various pockets on Samurai Flamenco's suit.
Backstory: A young model obsessed with superheroes and their ways, Masayoshi Hazama decided to take up crime-fighting in real life as Samurai Flamenco. Of course this came with it's difficulties (and more than a fair share of beat downs for Masayoshi), but eventually with the help of friends and allies he started to make a good difference for the people of Tokyo. This came to a rather strange point when an evil organization lead by a man named King Torture also showed up into the public eye, seemingly subverting reality itself and turning Masayoshi's fight from just stopping purse-snatchers and jay-walkers into a real superheroic conflict. During their final battle, King Torture was beaten, but not before pulling out one last trump card; sucking Samurai Flamenco out of his universe and into the multiverse proper.
Confused and bewildered, Flamenco accidentally wandered into a skirmish between UMMA and Shadow Eternity agents. Seeing UMMA as the villains in this conflict, he was quick to assist Shadow Eternity in the fight. Likening them to underdogs being harassed by the more powerful and brutal organization. This did not make him any friends with the true heroes but it did earn him a spot within SE's organization, one he took gratefully, seeing it as the next path for any hero. To confront and embrace their darker inclinations and make actual changes for everyone.
I wanted to say something about that but didn't think it was my place. There's no way Masayoshi Hazama doesn't peg an organization called Shadow Eternity as the villain.
Personality: She doesn't really talk about herself much, and is known for keeping to herself, but when engaged in conversation Mokou's actually quite blunt and surprisingly lively. She really seems to get a kick out of fighting--or at least battles to the death, even if she's the only person that's going to get killed. Despite this, and having no self-preservation (or common sense--there's no reason for her to not eat, but she goes hungry because she can), she's a pretty nice person. After all, you'd have to be to make one of your most common activities 'help people that got lost'.
Abilities/Weapons:
Perfect Immortality: Due to having consumed the Hourai Elixir when she was younger, there is no way to actually kill Mokou that will work. Vaporised, decapitated, poisoned, left in a vacuum--without fail, she'll be fine afterwards. The actual immortality part (as opposed to not ageing or falling ill) comes from making it impossible for Mokou to be ever dead, which brings a few strange consequences in. It's a good thing that she has this--Mokou's regard for her own well-being is essentially nil, and over time this seems to have made her incredibly fragile, especially compared to most of Gensokyo's more combative residents. It also makes the task of defeating her via brute force a lot easier: getting killed still hurts; inflict enough injury and she'll go down. Or just don't inflict so much that she'd die, since she doesn't heal from that instantly.
Magic: Through a long life, and a lot of practice, Mokou has become far more powerful than people tend to expect a human to be. Aside from Gensokyo's ubiquitous flight... well, she mostly seems to be content to play with fire, despite it being doubtful that it's all she can do. Fireballs, explosions, exploding herself... given the state of her shirt compared with everything else on her person, she's probably capable of making ofuda to fireproof something.
Kicking: She seems to prefer it.
Backstory: The daughter of a nobleman, most likely Fujiwara no Fujito, managed to embarrass himself in front of someone known for being incredibly beautiful (who happened to be from the moon). Getting annoyed at this, Mokou chose to steal a gift to the emperor to spite Kaguya, and through chance succeeded despite her total inability to be threatening at this point. Also killed a guy in the process by shoving him off a cliff. Then she drank the elixir in a moment of weakness, and ended up regretting it. Some point in the next thousand years, she went rather crazy and spent three centuries killing anyone nearby. Then three centuries doing nothing. In the end, she found Kaguya again, which was nice; it meant someone to kill again and again and again in a magnificent stalemate.
@eemmtt: I have to voice my concern about any 40k Imperium character in a major faction, which is that their religion and devotion would get in the way of their cooperation. ^^; With non-faction characters it's a bit different but yeah.
@Great Sogeking: This is still open, and as long as your character is acceptable they can be from anything.
