In this version of World War II, World War II is actually World War I. Hitler has taken control over the Reich for Germany, transforming it into a fascist state in the years of our world's World War I. Germany has their historical World War 2 era technology, and there is no need for the Axis Powers. No one will ally with Adolph Hitler's Third Reich, as Hitler conquers Poland there is already a mass extermination taking place of the Jewish, Gypsy, Black colored, and all undesirables are being gassed, burned alive, shot, experimented on, etcetera.

The world's horrified reaction at Hitler's atrocities go ignored, even as the Communist revolution of Russia has executed the entire Romanov Dynasty. 1918, France has begun a futile war as it shrinks against Germany's ever encroaching offensive Blitzkrieg. Tanks, war planes which shouldn't be seen until at least 15-20 years from now are far superior to the outdated warfare techniques and lesser technology the rest of the world has to offer in response to the Third Reich's War Machine.

America has been pressured by the entire world to enter into the fray of battle with the UK and all European nations against the war machine. It's a race against the clock as Nazi Scientists begin to develop the atomb bomb.

Um I'm assuming that if the map is of WWI then poland wasn't even a country and hitler is from austria and at the time of WWI austria-hungary was very powerful so why would he come into power in germany. Especially when they were lead by a "loved" Kaiser.

I don't think this could really work out... Really, the premise could be better executed with a application of Wolfenstein where it happened. Really, and ultimately, turning the RP into a glorified Wolfenstein NRP.

The major factor you have to consider is not only what was pointed out before (although the Austrian-Hungarian Empire wasn't all that strong, it was kind of systematically on the retreat most of the time, it was like Russia without the meaty mass of bodies to drown people in). But you also have to take into account: Adolf at this time was a young college-age kid with no interest in politics. Really, he was an aspiring painter with no interest in politics. It would take a Great War to draft him when his Art School dreams took a shit and the resulting experiences and traumas in that to pull him to the side of Fascism, since fascism ultimately feeds on nations who feel they were wronged or greatly weakened in their recent and memorable history.

So under the proposed premise: it wouldn't work. It would have more chances working if you assume the sort of moves Germany underwent for the Wolfenstein universe: Ancient Jewish super-tech, ancient super-natural rituals, and some crazy-smart antagonists.

I just...I don't even-WW2 doesn't exist without WW1 and the crappy crappy crappy crappy way the Allies handled the end of the war. Not to mention there is no Russian Revolution without Vladimir Lenin getting shipped into Petrograd by Ludendorf to knock the Russians out of the war for good. If Hitler (or 'a' Hitler) had come along without a WW1 and the absolute horror that affected generations of politicians and generals, the 'atrocities' and the idea of appeasement would not have been a likely attitude taken.

Maybe an Alt-History where the Soviets are the ultimate bad guy (wait that's C&C) or some weird 'Mythic WW2" like Dinh suggested.

Hitler+Lucifer, Cthulhu just shows up anyway. I think the blitzkrieg would be even more horrifying if the dark ones demons were driving the tanks. Maybe a young Austrian soldier named Adolph makes a deal with the devil in the trenches...

A Berserker (Shape Shifting Viking) for the Nordic countries.
Jupiter for Italy.

Arthurian for England. Imagine Merlin and Churchill. The dialogue would be beyond amazing.

The United States would have Superheroes methinks. Thunderbirds are nice, but they are more symbolic of Native Americans.

Cthulhu, though imagined by an American, would best suit Japan. Cthulhu looms deep and distant in the Pacific, after all. And there are comparisons to Godzilla.

This is nice and all, but now you have to tie it all together to be something coherent.

I picture Cthuluhu as his own entity/force in this setting. Maybe the Japanese Empires aggression is against Cthulu, an independent threat not allied with the major powers. Maybe the Empire of the Rising Sun wants to somehow harness the power of Cthulu-triggering atomic grade weapons. Also I think it would be kind of cool to mix in Native American myths. Some of the most famous heroes of WW2 were of Native American ancestry. As for tying this all together-good luck...

I smell too many plotholes... it would take a huge OOC to address all of them... and a very clever one to do so well...

Yamate No Orochi is resurrected by someone, maybe Loki, or maybe Set, Satan, or something, and the power of resurrecting this dead god causes a rift in time and space that just warps reality into something bizarre. Or maybe eh resurrects Kagatsuchi?

Except it wouldn't we could explain the time period. Perhaps it's just before WWII, however the major difference is the aspects of the god(s) etc. We could each claim our country and take something mythical to explain that nation.
