I am actually considering giving Casper another mutation, the one Leo had...xD It would be so fuckin' hilarious if the scrawniest and most delicate lill' kid in the group had Super Strength as a mutation! XD

I am gonna' go and watch Age of Ultron now, when I get home I might actually change it since Casper's mutation hasn't been mentioned IC yet. I have used replication so much that it might be fun to give him something else...xD

So because my character is blind he will be identifying people with somewhat different adjectives. If possible could people message me a very small description of the following in regards to their character. For some I am able to pick up on but I don't want to auto ID in case I miss something.

Character Info

Scent - What type of shampoo do they use? Do they even shower? Perfume? Smoker? Anything that would tie into what they smell like in the scene and usually for when we are at the school.

Voice - Do they have a high voice or a low voice? Is their gender easy to pick up on? Accent as well will help allow me to give as much description of how Devin hears and there for understands as far as your character goes. Is there normal speech faster or slower than average? Close your eyes and think about your characters voice.

Body - Do they move around a lot? Fidget with their clothes? Are they someone who likes to pace or maybe play with their hands. If your character does something like use their cell phone a lot that can help. Those types of things can become calling cards for people as much as their face or clothes.

This would be a great help to me and allow me to write Devin's understanding and opinions of everyone to a much greater depth.

Sorry also I'm on my music trip no time for typing

But I can fill out World's character thingy

Scent - P.K is in love with all things citrusy. Orange-scented hand lotion, grapefruit shampoo, if it has a strong, fruity smell she'll probably own it. She also has an orange-vanilla body spray she'll use from time to time. Other then beauty products, Phoebe smells like nature, dirt, and water. She's loves to explore and frolic, after all.

Voice - Phoebe's voice is rich and almost always cheerful/sarcastic. Growing up in New Orleans, right on the edge if the Bayou, she was gifted with a Cajun accent. Though light, it can be heard fully when she is mad or confused. She also speaks rather quickly, and can sound rather boyish at times.

Body - Surprisingly, she is a rather still individual. P.K moves like a ghost, with light steps, and she barely fidgets unless nervous. Her fidgeting includes: Tapping her fingers, chewing on long strands of hair, and mumbling calming phrases.

Scent
Mason washes his hair with organic peppermint shampoo and conditioner, though he only does this about once a week; sometimes a little longer. He wears Versace Eros, the main notes of which are mint, lemon and apple. He smokes Marlboro White Menthol. His clothes are almost exclusively vintage and this type of clothing tends to have a distinctive smell.

Voice
Mason's voice is low enough to identify him as male, but his intonations and general manner of speech are soft, effeminate and what some would consider 'gay-sounding'. No lisp, though. His accent varies a lot. When he's meeting new people his accent becomes very neutralised and slow down in pace, becoming a near-comedic British stereotype. In more casual environment, he has a slight European trace in his accent, most notable in vowel sounds.

Body
Mason is a big gesticulator and moves his hands dramatically when speaking. When he's stressed or deep in thought, he rubs the thumb of his right hand in circles against his middle and forefinger. When sat down he often does passive, repetitive actions without realising, such as tapping his nails on a table or bouncing his leg up and down.

Scent - Greg's not a smoker, but he's not exactly a very hygenic person - he showers every once in a while and he's not very active, so I wouldn't call him gross, but he definitely doesn't really care about how he smells, so your character with sensitive smelling might notice that about him.

Voice - His voice is higher pitched and wavering. He 'ums' and 'ahs' a lot, and he tends to abort a lot of sentences before he finds one he wants to finish. He's got an Idaho accent, which is to say not really an accent at all (he probably says the words 'mountain' and 'pecan' funny).

Body - Greg fidgets constantly. Constantly. When he's nervous, which is always, he tends to hold his arm or scratch his back. When his telepathy his bothering him, he rubs his glasses a lot.

Scent – Chess uses color-friendly shampoo, and a variety of products to get his hair into any “just right” style he’s going for. He prefers not to mix scents, so lotions and makeup are all ordorless, giving way to a lone but gentle coconut-scented perfume.

Voice – Though Chess is used to altering his voice for various roles, his most common out-of-character accent is an unabrasive, feminine upper-English, with a few Irish ticks. He’s used to speaking quickly and is good at choosing his words and enunciating where needed, an actor’s voice with a sly edge to it.

Body – Definitely the fidgety type when he’s not actively engaged in anything. If he isn’t adjusting his clothes or his hair, he’s touching the scarf around his neck. When he’s speaking, he tends to pace and accentuate with his hands.

Character Info

Scent - Kane showers, but he is not really particular about his shampoo. Since if family could not afford the higher things in life, he was stuck using his mother's Homemade Coconut Milk shampoo and body wash. The thing works like a charm, and leaves him smelling like coconuts all day long. When it comes to cologne and perfume, he has never touched one, and he would never dare even look at a smoke.

Voice - Kane has a low voice, one that easily allows anyone to tell that he is a guy. He speaks loudly at times and his speech is deviod of stilted or precise sounds which allows people to instantly tell that is is Southern. Due to his heritage and the environment in which he grew up, his language is mixed with a combination of both English and French, he will usually translate when using such terms, but the combination of his sexy, roguish Cajun accent and words will have most people confused in the long run.

Body - Being theatrical especially when conversing with people on a casual topic and setting is Kane's forte. He is not afraid to use gestures and speak loudly to get his point across in arguments or when speaking out on a topic that concerns him. Kane tends to crack his knuckles when he is stressed or angered without realizing it himself. If he is in deep thought, he simply rubs his earlobes.

I'm assuming that scent counts as appearance and therefore will advise that you assume she only smells like this when she is "normal". Thanks.

Character Info

Scent - a campfire currently, although normally she smells like her strawberry shampoo and conditioner, with a hint of coco from her body wash and the lotion she carries around. While she doesn't smoke herself, she does hang out with smokers, so the scent may linger for a while.

Voice - She has a slightly higher voice, but it's more sing-song than shrill, and is obviously feminine. She has a northern Wisconsin/Minnesota accent, and usually has a polite tone, although she'll sound more like she's from the ghetto or something if she's being mean or sarcastic. She speaks slower than most, but not that much, and she has poor enunciation, which is why she speaks slower.

Body - In situations where she is uncomfortable she stands very still, usually holding her arms behind her back and rocking slightly back and forth on her heels if she is standing. When she is more comfortable she will shuffle her feet, maybe tapping out the best to a song she likes, and will hold her hand in front of her, possibly making movements if she is explaining something.

Scent - Casper usually smells like the Head n' shoulders shampoo. He rarely wears any kind of cologne, but when he does he enjoys wearing something fruity. Casper puts a lot of effort into being clean as he's somewhat of a perfectionist so smelling like head n' shoulders shampoo is his default.

Voice - It would be easy to pick out his voice. It is quiet, shy yet rather high pitched. He speaks rather slowly and sounds incredibly insecure when he does so.

Body - Casper can be heard playing his Playstation Vita quite often, his fingers on the buttons. He doesn't weigh much so his footsteps can be hard to make out and he doesn't move around much unless he needs to get somewhere. His steps are somewhat careful, as if he's afraid to break something if he walks too quickly. He tries to be gentle with everything he touches but you might hear, quite often, things accidentally breaking when he picks them up.

Scent-Lynn probably smells like hand soap and smoke.

Voice-Throaty, Lynn's voice is a bit lower than most girls and a touch raspy. Perhaps the result of spontaneously flooding her vocal cords with fire and smoke. She has a slight Chicago accent but not a very pronounced one. Tends to speak pretty...not monotonely, but there isn't a whole lot of variation to her voice. Usually ranges from nonchalance to irritation.

Body-She stands still a lot, usually keeping her arms folded across her chest or at her sides. Not a lot of talking with her hands or too much movement.

---

Really enjoying the interactions so far, looking forward to where this RP heads. Anybody wants to engage Lynn one-on-one, feel free.

I wanted to hold off until I was done because I hate posting incomplete sheets, but I've restarted the sample post twice now so I figure I could put this up and let you GMs give me feedback on it while I try to get the sample done. I made up some random famous South American mutant activist. Hope that's cool.

PITY - Application for Academic Year 2015/2016

Student Name:
Celso Olivero

Argentine

Age:
18

Appearance

Hair Color:
Black

Eye Color:
Brown

Ethnicity:

Height:

Weight:

Powers & Abilities

Power Name:
I cannot think of a simple way to name it

Power Description:
I can change how well others perceive me (and perhaps other objects)

Abilities:
My ability affects the minds of others, so it's a little difficult to explain since I never experienced it myself. I only know what my friends and family tell me, so my explanation might not be entirely accurate. With my ability, I can change the minds of other people in how they perceive me. I can become completely imperceptible to a person, meaning that they will not be able to see me, hear me, smell me, touch me (well, I will feel it but they won't), taste me, or be able to register my presence or interaction with the world. If I apply my power enough, they even become unable to recall any memories concerning me. To them, it will be like I never existed until my power wears off. On the other hand, I can make people hyper aware of my presence. They can be looking away from me but know I'm there, in the same way you can normally "sense" other people around you. I draw attention to me. People's eyes are drawn to me and their senses in general are more responsive to anything I do. For instance if another person and me are speaking at the same time at the same volume to a third person, I could amplify my words in the third person's mind. They won't necessarily be perceived as louder, the person just pays attention to me more I guess. Those are the two extremes of my power, but I can work in between them.

While most of the things I do with my power require direct concentration, I can passively make myself stand out more or less to small degrees to entire groups of people. If I don't want to be seen or bothered, people just pass over me. When I'm doing something impressive or just want to be noticed, I stand out more. Becoming actually imperceptible to one or more people or really forcing someone to look at me requires active concentration and focus.

My power works on just one or multiple people at one time. Like you'd think, it's more difficult to affect multiple people, and it's easier to make myself more perceptible than less perceptible. My power mostly applies to me and anything small I touch like my clothes. My ability to hide my clothes with me makes me think I should be able to do the same for other people or objects, but I haven't been able to do it.

Drawbacks & Weaknesses:
I cannot read the mind of people I'm affecting so I have no way of really knowing that it's working.

My ability doesn't affect machines such as cameras or microphones so they still record me.

Any real use of my ability requires active concentration.

It is almost impossible for me to become imperceptible to someone who was already focusing on me.

I don't know if I'm capable of using my power on more than one person with different effects on each one.

OOC Note: Psychics may be resistant, immune, or aware of the ability's use depending on their specific ability and proficiency with that ability, but Celso has no way of knowing that himself at this time.

About You

Family:
- Father: Martin Olivero
- Mother: Cecilia Olivero
- Sister: Cecilia Olivero
- Brother: Cesar Olivero

Personal Statement:
I have been aware of mutants all my life. My uncle Cesar was a mutant and an outspoken activist. He wasn't famous like Adrian Costa, but he was gaining some renown in the city until he passed. He wasn't killed or anything, it was heart disease. My father will tell you they did try to kill him though. My father and mother are also politically active, just not like he was. But that is common here. My older brother in particular has always been fascinated by mutants and equality for mutants. He loves studying mutants, and has spent a lot of time researching abilities and events and cases. He's going to school to become a lawyer, even with all the corruption. He really took after his namesake, except he's not the mutant.

I tried to avoid a life full of concern for strangers like my parents. Like many teenagers, I wanted to distance myself from my family. Keeping informed, forming opinions. It all seemed like a chore. My concerns have always been swimming, football and River Plate, girls, and doing well in school to make a good life for myself. That was really it. I competed as a swimmer, among the best in Buenos Aires for butterfly stroke. Football I play for fun and am somewhat good. I was going to be an engineer like my father, but then a teacher showed to me the power of written words. Writing became another interest and passion. I thought why do engineering work when I could be a journalist or author? When I discovered my ability, it did not change anything. There was no reason to worry about how the world treated mutants. I could easily hide it. I have known about your academy for a while. My father had told me about a school that had closed down. I laughed at the idea of ever attending a place like this. I didn't need it.

I discovered my ability a few months before my 16th birthday. My brother and sister were away, and my parents began to ignore me. No matter what I did, they would not respond. I spent one and one half hours trying to make them see me. When my sister returned, she surprised me from behind as I yelled at my father. In that moment, that I was surprised, my parents suddenly became very aware of me. I think I nearly gave my father a heart attack going from full imperceptibility to pushing myself fully onto his mind. I was afraid then, but now I love my ability. It's harmless, easy to hide, useful, and fun. When I want to be left alone, I'm left alone, and everybody pays close attention when I'm swimming or playing football. I don't accidentally disappear or make myself obvious as much these days. It still happens more than I like.

Until a year ago I thought I could live my life without thinking about other mutants. They could be like the starving children of other countries. A sad detail in the world, but one I could pretend I was too busy to worry about. Cesar changed my mind. He planted an idea that I have not been able to let go. In his time researching he found many times when mutants were talked about unfairly. People like me who had their stories forgotten, or twisted, or who had no chance to even have them heard. He suggested to me that I could tell them. I realized how my ability and my writing could go together. I could tell a story no one else could, and help tell those of other people. I now see why PITY is a good place for me. I do not know anyone who is like me. The world refuses to understand us. I want to tell our story, but I cannot do that without living it and also knowing other people who are living it.

I think there is some sort of mistake. My character isn't reading so I am not sure who the other person reading is. Have people been under the assumption that Devin was reading? In my post he is only remembering something he read in the past. I put it in alternate format because it was what he was thinking of and thought that would help the person who can hear thoughts of others.

No, the two reading are Greg and Chess, I think.

And I appreciate the thought, but I didn't have my character pick up on it because it seemed like it was making Devin happy. My character only 'hears' things people are unhappy about.
