Before humanity had writing to record it, the Demon Lord Xalafoor walked the surface, feeding on the suffering of others, causing more when he didn't find enough, which was most of the time. Eventually a group formed to fight him off, containing a Warrior, a Hunter, a Priest, and a Shaman. Xalafoor had servants of his own, though, an Assassin, a Spy, a Dark Warlock. Though they fought valiantly against him, they could not defeat him. Contact with the Demon Lord's magic left a mark on the souls of these seven, however, and for the next thousand years they continued to return to the mortal world, reincarnating into new bodies and once again taking their old roles, or something close to it, always drawn to each other.

After a thousand years of this, however, he was defeated when his servants turned on him. With his death, the magic which drew the seven together was weakened, and he their legacy passed into obscurity.

Thousands of years later, after the invention of writing, metallurgy, farming, and many other things, the bond strengthened again. The Shaman, man gifted in reading the hearts and minds of others, soon found himself bumping into one of the others of the Seven. This triggered the past-life memory of the Demon Lord. He showed this memory with the other, and together they set out to gather the rest of the seven, as the resurgence of their bond can only mean one thing; Xalafoor is returning.

I was thinking a spiritual type, such as you would want if fighting a demon. Healing powers would still work, though.

What's the level of fantasy for this? My character is a dark skinned woman with white hair. (Think Storm, kinda.) Is that ok with you?

That's fine. Things like elves and dwarves are legends, but no one's seen them if they exist. Exotic looking people might draw attention, but they exist.

@everyone: I will start the RP in a cave. We were driven into it by a storm, a monsoon which heralds the return of Xalafoor. We'll then link our minds and relive the first battle, so that we have some backstory on the enemy and our past lives.

I think mine will be a freerunning shaman who's good at animal transformations name Ratonhnhaketon. Actually, that seems kind of familiar.

Like Dark elemental powers (absence of light, not evil)? Cloak yourself in shadows or be invisible and attack people while they can't see you? That would work.

Basically, most versions of these classes will be fine, as long as it fits the description (in your case "Assassin") and isn't too OP compared to the other characters.

For example, it doesn't matter if the Dark Warlock uses mind control, fire, necromancy, or summons lesser demons, as long as his skills still fit the definition of a Dark Warlock. For example, a character heavy on melee and light on magic wouldn't fit this description, though it could be a warrior or, with the correct magic, an Assassin or maybe a Spy.

Name: Kassandra Keigwan

Age: 24

Role: Priest

Skills: High emotional IQ, is excellent at reading people, gaining trust, and telling when someone is lying. Is excellent with children, has a very large amount of patience. Also makes really good cookies. She also has a very beautiful singing voice.

Magic/supernatural abilities: Kassy can cast all manner of illusions, from sight and sound, tactile, and a limited amount of taste and scent illusions.
- Kassy has intermittent visions of the future. When the visions come upon her, her mind is transported there. Her body is almost completely immobile, anywhere from ten seconds to a minute.
-Kassy can also control people's minds. How easily they can be commanded is dependent on the will of the person. Kassy's powers would fail against another old soul like hers. She also can't control anyone under the age of 6. Kassy is loathe to use this power on anyone, and it is a last resort.

Equipment: A solid wooden staff, a large earthen jug full of crystal clear water, ashes from a clean sacrificial fire, incense.

Personality: On the outside, Kassy is quiet and almost meek. Truthfully, she is a gentle soul, but at the core of her lies steel. She hates to see anything she considers 'bullying' and will stand up for people when they're hurt. She loves to make others happy, but is slowly learning that she doesn't have to sacfrifice herself to do that.

Kassy rarely loses her cool, but when she does, it seems to unbottle deep pain that has been festering for years.

Biography: Kassy's mother was a world-renowned medium, one who could speak to the 'other side'. Her parents traveled the world with little Kassy in tow, going from one place to another to further her mother's work. Some people believed whole-heartedly, while others were quite skeptical. They got attention wherever they went, but not all of it was positive attention. Kassy in particular felt quite alienated- she was born with her white hair, and odd-colored eyes. In some places, people were sure that her mother had consorted with some 'unholy force' to concieve such a child.

When Kassy was eight, Kassy's mother died during a showing, in the middle of contacting a spirit. Her father was distraught, and after months of grieving decided he couldn't care for his child anymore. He put her under the care of her mother's sister, Kassy's aunt Krista. He promised to return for her when he felt better.

Kassy hasn't seen her father since.

Her aunt Kristy hated her sister Kaia for what she was, and thought her sister nothing more than attention-seeking fraud. As a result of this hatred, she treated her niece like dirt: ruining her confidence at every turn, making sure no one in town would see her as normal, missing no opportunity to call her a freak, or wrong, or devil-child.
