"So the more intense the emotions the harder it is to ignore. I guess that makes sense. This school seems like a pretty emotional place. Especially when we have simulations or power development. Sounds like you need people who are on an even kneel emotionally. I am not one of those people. I am very emotional. So I will probably drive you nuts." Katherin commented shaking her head. Most days were emotional roller coaster for her. Serious ups and downs. Classes that demand she deal with her powers depressed her. Jack and her friends lifted her up.

"Thats why I came here the learn how ti control it. People are very emotionL beings, even when they try to hide it. When I hsve my blocks up, I'm am fine. But too strong emotions and it gets harder. Sometimes it cracks to blocks. And then everything gets in, and its completely overwhelming...those emotions have to go somewhere right, and I havd found that with my telekinesis it goes into destroying things...its hard to explain" kalinda frowned, shrugged

"I think we can all destroy things. I brought down a garage once." Katherin commented. She tried remember that day. It was the day she realized she would never live up to her dads vision of her, not without help. That day she began looking for people other then the her father to teacher her to use her abilities. "I can't completely control the abilities I have but I can honestly say I am glad to only have the two abilities."

Kalinda shrugged, "I am a very observant person. Most people here, it appears, seem to be trying to live up to theirnoarents expectations, I stead of their own. I have done it my whole life. Never got one "I'm proud of you!" Or "I love you" from my mother. But thats just her"

"I've noticed that as well. Many students want to make their parents proud. My dad use to tell me how proud of me he was and all the things we would accomplish together." Katherin shook her head wishing she hadn't started this conversation. Still it was the best way to get to know someone. Katherin had always been one to dive in head first. She reacted without thinking. She liked Kalinda. She said what she thought. There were few people who would do that, especially at first. Most people would say what they thought you wanted to hear.

"See thats what I don't get. Parents making all these plans for their kids, without even thinking what they would want. I hate to fight tooth and nail for six months to get here, because my mother didn't want it. But I did" kalinda said. Kalinda never knew anymore when she was stepping over a boundary. She had gotten good at reading peoples emotions by their body language, so that when her blocks were up, she always knew. Yet that never seemed to stop her just continuing to push boundaries.

"Sometimes I think our parents want to live through us, and forget we havd lives to live, mistakes to make. Just like they did. I don't know, maybe they're afraid if we turn out different from what they want, they will lose us"

"Maybe. Maybe they want their legacy to go one. Maybe they forgot what it was like to feel like you have to fit into a mold you don't truly understand. My dad is a good guy. I love him to pieces, but I can't be him. My powers aren't the same as his. You know this has to the weirdest first conversation I've had." Katherin said with a laugh. She hoped she wasn't making her new friend uncomfortable.

“Alright, ten minute’s up. Let’s get to it. Sue! Kijani! You’re up!” Hank bellowed.

He started placing dodgeballs along the middle of the court, simultaneously eyeing the students readying themselves.

Sue beckoned the new boy with black and white hair to come over, and asked for her team to move to their side. Her jeans were just loose enough that they were comfortable and allowed her to move about. She did, however, take off her hoodie, and she revealed her naval only briefly before tucking her tank top back down. Her earmuffs still on, her short figure still an advantage, her athleticism and prowess in dancing still her awesome utility, she warmed herself up.
