You just reduced the God of Death to an impotent invalid that can only make the sound "DAVEEEEE" over and over again without breaking a sweat.

So all the Gods have been reduced to mortals with no powers, essentially specs of dust in a cloud of dust. Illysia is now the only supreme being left. She has conquered not only the other players, but also the RP itself.

I rename the RP to "Illysia's World".

And we all spend the rest of the RP as mere insects in a world of millions, our Gods no longer Gods, performing mundane tasks - like kneading dough - on behalf of Illysia.

If we look at what you have, it essentially holds water. However, your super-super powers need to be clipped, otherwise you'll create the paradox that I mentioned in the rules.

So your Goddess is there to stop her children from running amok.

And probably, to also protect them from harm, yes?

I have no qualms with someone playing one of the Creator's spouses, by the way. I imagine he may have had a few? Who knows.

So the main beef we've got is that you can strip a God of their powers and immortality, effectively making them non-Gods. It seems you can do this at a whim.

How about we have it, that you can only do this kind of thing to ONE God at a time? You know, if one started getting uppetty, you'd step in and put them in the naughty chair. However, to check your power, and to stop you from rivalling the Creator himself, the amount of concentration/strength required to cripple another God, means you cannot do it to more than one at any given time.

Alternatively, how about being able to banish them temporarily to their Realms? Forcing them to break through your prison before they can get back into the physical world - but again, you could only do this to one God at any one time.

This way, the other Gods at least have the option of teaming up against you if you start trying to take over the Pantheon.

See, it's all about moderation and constructive compromise.

It's the whole 'I wasn't done and all i got was criticism is the unfriendly way' thing that bugged me honestly. I have work so I can't just sit here and make it perfect like some sort of no-lifer that happens to be half the people I talk to IRL. So it would have been nice if I could get my own limits on their first. So I'll finish her and use her elsewhere. There's probably something more generic I can use here anyway.

I was merely advising you in a fun and colourful way.

Though if I joined someone's RP, say a zombie survival type, and decided that actually, my guy carried a radio cassette player that could paralyse all the zombies in a hundred mile radius at any given time, I would expect flak. Lots and lots of flak.

Like a B-17 flying over Berlin in '44.

I'm assuming something elemental based God would be player friendly enough even if it`s overdone. Perhaps one with a Spirit affinity. Like a shamanic goddess of sorts.

You can be the God of ANYTHING.

I was tempted to play a Goddess of Arachnids, for example, and then the God of Vermin, before deciding that Death needed a Ying to its Yang.

You could be the God of Vanity, or the God of Courage - literally ANYTHING. Christ, what about the God of Insanity? Imagine what that bastard could do.

Maybe see if some of the other Gods would like a cousin or a child? The God of Courage and the God of War would make for an excellent pairing.

The world is your oyster, in this respect. Just none of that "My God is better than your God, tee-hee!" stuff :)

And also, whoever decides to the play the Goddess of Seduction instantly wins the RP if they get us banned by using too many graphic themes in their posts :P

In more seriousness than last time, YES!

Although, it opens up some complex situations. For example, you might install a certain fate on a Mage Lord, that has him end up becoming a destroyer of Gods - or something of that nature - through a long, winding road of destiny. However, this might impact on the actions of other players, especially if you said "this mortal defeats the God of Life in a thumb war", because I might not want that to happen.

Therefore, any fate scenarios involving other Gods would have to be... well... pre-determined with the players involved, to avoid upset.

And the God of Chaos could probably unravel everything if they tried, ya know, chaos vs order etc.

It's an interesting one, perfectly possible but it'd need a mature and creative writing hand to full-fill it. It's all yours, if you're happy with dealing with the issues that may arise.

Honestly? Was tempted to play the Goddess of Love and Lust before I thought that the Gods really needed something to hold them down a bit >_< You're giving me ideas again though I don't quite trust myself to play a God f Insanity at this point. I'd find a way to go overboard again lol. On the other hand I think a Goddess of the Afterlife would be an interesting concept for the sister/lover of Snow's God of Death. And a God of Courage as a brother to War. Or even a Goddess of Peace and Serenity as a twin to War would be interesting to see.
