Planet Earth was destroyed a long time ago. Basically, there was a war, known as the Great Alien War, back in 5647. It was very much like WW2, only more dangerous. Technology was more advanced, therefor more destructive weapons were used. Weapons such as nuclear bombs. Also, it was set in a much more dangerous place than Earth: space. Well, a quarter of it was based in space. Another quarter was based on the planet in which the aliens lived, whereas the other half was based on Earth.
The aliens won the war in 5731. At this point, Earth was completely destroyed. Very few humans survived - around 100, maybe? Nobody really knew, as humankind was wiped out millenniums ago. Only bits of the Earth remained in the form of asteroids.
The year is 8888, otherwise known as "the infinite year". Many space creatures have inhabited asteroids (the ones which came from Earth), whereas others have built new civilizations on planets. Space is at peace. Everyone is living together in harmony. There hasn't been a war since 5731, the year in which the Great Alien War ended.
However, there has been a discovery that could change the fate of the entire world. A way to recreate the universe. A way to see what damage mortals have caused. A way to bring back the humans...
For many years, Gafley, a space-exploration company, has been researching and studying a black hole. They named this hole Gafl, after the company's name. Now, they have finally found what the black hole is there for. In fact, it's not a black hole - it's a gap in time. Gafley has discovered that the void will take them back in time to the beginning of the universe.
After finding this amazing discovery, they built a spaceship fit to enter Gafl: the Gafley 2000. Five people were sent to work on the ship. These included the captain, the deputy captain, the main adventurer, the assistant adventurer and the scientist. You are one of the members on the ship, one of the people that is going to enter the void...
