Evan and Everett sat side by side on the park bench. They had both decided that they didn't want to open their packages, the one they knew the small silver chain connected to the clear heart was in, until two months after their seventeenth birthday. The small silver boxes sat in between them as they stared at them.

"At the same time?" Everett looked at his brother, his hand resting on his box.

"Now." Evan grabbed his box and began to lift the lid off of it. "Mines purple. It's just purple." He rolled his eyes slightly. "Out of all the colors I get purple."

"You're complaining about purple?" Everett held his necklace up for his twin to see.
"Oh God, that's great!" Evan was laughing. "You got pink!"

A few people turned staring at the boys, giving disapproving looks. The both stood up in unison, throwing away the boxes to their necklaces as they slid them around their necks and began on their way home.

Luke had stayed up all night looking at the necklace. It was as grey as the storm clouds that had formed last night. He put the necklace down and sighed. Luke stood up and opened a window. He looked outside and breathed in the fresh air.
Luke headed down the stairs and began towards the door. He was already fully dressed in his clothes. He had a pair of headphones on, and the gray necklace around his neck. He then began to jog outside.
A necklace that predicts whom you will fall in love...Childlish. Luke sighed as an expressionless face appeared on his face. Love, it was just an Illusion used to misguide you towards your demise.

Adelisa and Adam groaned when they saw the packages in their older brother's hands. They took the packages and looked at eachother, slight nervousness emanating from them. Adelisa ripped open the box and saw a silver chain with a red gem in the center. Adelisa bit her bottom lip and her older brother, Anderson, put her necklace on for her. Adelisa looked back at Adam and said "what'd you get?" He held up his necklace and said "yellow."

They both looked at eachother before Anderson said "guys, it's not that bad! It's your future! You two had to have known you guys wouldn't be together forever!"

Adelisa looked back at Adam with wide eyes. Her and Adam were the only people who truly understood eachother in her family. Adam sighed and said "don't worry, Dela, I won't let our future whatevers to separate us." Adelisa nodded and smiled. She looked back at Anderson and said "I'm going to invite the girls over so unless you want your wife to find out you were here instead of picking up Kaley, then I suggest you leave." Anderson rolled his eyes and said his goodbyes before rushing out of the house.

Adelisa smiled and said "party time!"

Blake stared down at the box in her hands. Her parents had forgotten to give it to her on her sixteenth birthday, even though she was now 17. Although you don't see Blake complaining about it. She didn't want the necklace, she didn't even believe that the necklace was true and worked. Everyone said the color of the gem would match your soul-mate's necklace and Blake honestly thought that was stupid and idiotic.

With a sigh Blake finally opened the box and saw that her necklace had a light blue gem. "At least it wasn't a girly color." Blake said to herself as she slipped the necklace onto her neck before running the rest of the way to soccer practice. Blake slipped her hair into a pony tail and joined her team on the field leading them in exercises and stretches since she was the team captain. It was going to be a long practice. After practice, Blake took a quick shower in the locker rooms before throwing on some clothes and heading over to her best friend, Caden's house. When she arrived she knocked on the door since the door was locked. If it had been unlocked she would have walked right in.

Decker was lying on Caden's sofa. "So, little buddy, about these weird necklaces we've been given. We said we'd open em' today!" He was in full police uniform, but was wearing his cowboy hat. He lifted up his hat to reveal a small silver package. "I got dibs on going first!" He yelled, his southern accent was very thick and it really showed that he was from Tennessee. Without hesitation he ripped open the package. "Awww, mines white! I can hardly see this jewel thing!" He frowned, "I feel darn sorry for the chick that gets White as well, terrible colour. No smart comments Cade!" He sharply added, displaying his tendency to give somebody a nickname.

Lorelei shut her bedroom door behind her and stared at the box on her bed. With a loud sigh, she fell onto her plush, white bed. It was probably just a late birthday gift from her Aunt Karen. Six months late. The blonde slowly sat up and opened the package. "The necklace.." She whispered, picking up the necklace. The green gem shimmered in the low light of her bedroom. As Lorelei closed the clasp, she delicately touched the necklace and bit her lip. Love. This is just beyond me. Who would want to love her? Who would love her? She flopped back onto her bed and looked at her phone as Sherman snuggled up to her.

Raleigh sat on the edge of the pool and fiddled with his necklace. His brown hair dripped with the water from swimming all afternoon. The blue stone could have blended in with the clear water. He sighed and ran his fingers across the necklace. The boy wrapped a towel around himself and sat by the pool just a little longer, mesmerized by the water and the silence.

Lola Lombardi got up, yawning. She had finally left her old Johnny, what did she know. She had a bad record while attending her last boarding school. It was most likely awful for her, she had a bad big record. Lola Lombardi looked at her apartment. Groaning, she wish she'd have her popularity again. She looked out of her window, no excitement in it. She sighed.

Lola Lombardi sighed, she use to be with her parents. But now, dumped at a apartment, it was even worse than the boarding school! Lola Lombardi sighed, she looked at the bathroom door. First, she needed her bathing supplies she looked around for her bathing supplies. Finding her bucket and her panties. Even though she didn't like the last school she went too, she actually missed some nerds. Rocky enough, she wasn't a cheerleader because of her attitude she even felt sorry for the nerd Beatrice girl. She looked at the TV for a minute, tuning into the TV. She tuned to anime, watching it for a long time. She got lost and forgot to take her shower, sooner enough Lola Lombardi stopped and she went to the bathroom, brushing her teeth. She took off her PJ'S, stepping into the shower. And taking a 20 minute shower, Lola Lombardi used very cold water she didn't like it much. But only did it because her grandma said if she used hot water, she gets wrinkles early. Lola didn't want to be a wrinkle girl, she used the cold water. She got use to it for a while, now here she is using it. Lola was finished taking her shower she rushed over to her red and yellow tiger pants and shirt. She started to put on her clothes, then took her pajamas and put them in the dirty basket, after all she wore them for two whole days staying in her own home. Lola Lombardi thought she could wear something better, but she was too lazy to.

Lola Lombardi walked inside of the kitchen, junk food chips and milk all over the table. She had made a mess out of herself, she grabbed a broom and a dustpan, sweeping the cereal crumbs she had spilled yesterday inside of the dustpan, she then lifted the dustpan carrying it to the trashcan and swept it into the trashcan. She used her hand to keep the trash cans top from closing. She couldn't afford a better trashcan, though she really loved the trashcan and dealt with it. Lola groaned at the mess on the floor, she should keep up with her own mess she decided. Lola sighed, she couldn't clean up the mess alone. She had to go to a shop for better cleaning supplies. Lola scurried upstairs to go get her new clothes, for a while it took her a long time to pick a shirt out. Finally, she picked one she came out of her apartment wearing her old Greaser attire. She beamed at her scooter, a Stylish Hot Rod Vespa GTS 300 Super that her friend Jackie got for her. $6199! Lola sighed to herself, she thought to herself. "Oh, Jackie! I should of kept in touch with her, the more it takes the less greater the reunion will be, idiot. " Lola jumped on the Stylish Hot Rod, zooming all the way to a cleaning store.

Alice was playing with the necklace she got on her sixteenth birthday a few months back and admired its pink color. She normally wasn't a fan of such a girly color, but the pink had a calming effect on her. She never wore it out where everyone could see it though and always made sure to tuck it under her shirt. She knew she was going to head to Adelisa's house later today but she still had a couple of hours til then.

Meanwhile, Ninja, her ferret, snuck up behind her and cuddled along her leg. "Oh Ninja, you're going to get hair all over my jeans," she chuckled, gently pushing him off her. She put the necklace back around her neck and tucked under her grey flannel. She walked over to her desk and decided to try to write a poem to help pass the time until it was time to go.

Lola found the right store! But she forgot something, money. Lola had zoomed all the way with her Stylish Hot Rod to the store with no money. It was about 20 miles. Lola sighed, she turned her scooter around. Zooming back to her apartment, parking her Stylish Hot Rod. She went inside of her home, door open. Lola noticed that she didn't lock the door, Lola frowned to herself. How stupid was she! Lola needed enough money, she should of probably went back to those fights. Anyways, Lola grabbed money from her drawer, shutting it. Exiting her home, locking the door with her keys inside of her pockets. She zoomed back to the cleaning store, sighing to herself. She got off her Stylish Hot Rod. She ran inside of the store, even if people judged her for what she wore, she kept it on. Quickly, she grabbed her cleaning supplies, ordering it and leaving right away. Before she did, she met Webster, her 6th Grade crush. Lola never liked Webster, quickly she exited. Not wanting Webster to even say a word, there she was. She had her cleaning supplies and she was quite hungry! Lola road away on her Stylish Hot Rod. She stopped, at her home smiling in relief she carried the cleaning supplies inside and she started mopping and cleaning. Less than 40 minutes, she was done she clapped for herself and she got her cereal setting it down on the table. She opened the fridge, seeing the milk date on the milk can. She frowned, only 2 more weeks and her milk was full she had 8 cans of milk and she barely drank any of it, she sighed. She was a junky person! Suddenly, some of her house fell down, she sighed to herself. She began eating, leaving the fridge open in her junk house. After a couple minutes, she put everything back, washing everything. And she did some house work, she sighed to herself. In relief, she sighed.

Lorelei sighed and called Alice. Rolling over, she looked out her window. It was probably good to get out. She tapped her fingers to the dial tone, waiting for her friend to pick up.

Lola Lombardi sighed, she was finally finished cleaning her house. She looked at her new shiny wooden junk flooring, she hoped soon that she couldn't get more better wood. She looked at the wall for a minute, sighing she went upstairs to change into a normal outfit and she carried a backpack with her just in case if she was going to sleep there. She tapped on the phone, putting in a number and the dial tone was heard, she waited for Adam or Adliesa to pick up.

Feon was in the library. She had opened her package quite awhile ago, while she was wearing it she was nervous of when this man would find her. She was quite shy and even small. Yet she was constantly reading books about motorcycle gangs and such. Horror was even her favorite genre of books. She was currently filing some of the shelves trying to get things in order.

Caden stared at the box hesitantly. He did promise to open them with Decker, but he was having second thoughts about even opening the thing. The kid was quite superstitious and whole-heartedly believed that this very necklace might actually show him who he was meant to be with. Leo, his black Belgian shepherd nudged his hand, seeming to sense his unease. Sighing, Caden pushed the box away a few feet and watched Decker tear into his. He couldn't help but to laugh a little at the pale color, so light you could easily miss it.

"Maybe that's just its way of saying there is no one meant for you." He chuckled, ignoring the glaring scowl he received from his more aggressive friend. A knock at the door pulled his attention away Decker, Leo hopping up and rushing to the door with an energetic bark. Caden jumped up and jogged after the excited dog, the wagging tail an indication it was a friendly person on the other side of the door. "Hey Decker! Did you lock this behind you?" He called, not remembering locking the door, not that he would have been surprised if he did. Shaking his head, Caden opened the door and smiled.

"Hey Blake. Come on in, your just in time to see Decker's awesome necklace." He chuckled, pulling Leo aside so that Blake could walk around him into the house. "I see you found yours." He nodded to the necklace around Blake's neck. "It's a good color, suits you." Caden closed the door behind her before leading her to the living room where Decker was waiting.

"Thanks," Blake said smiling at Caden as she walked in. "Oh, and just so you know I didn't find it, the dispicable people known as my parents finally decided go give it to me." She added as she knelt down and gave Leo a scratch behind the ears before following Caden into the living room where she saw Decker laying on the couch.

"Hey Dec." Blake said as she looked at his necklace. "How come you got such a pure color. Definitely doesn't suit you, I'm pretty sure you have a black heart." She teased as she picked up his hat placing it on her head, which was still wet from her shower after practice, and sitting down on the smaller couch opposite of him and turning her attention to Caden. "Soo you gonna open yours anytime soon?" She asked smiling and smirking, somehow, at him.

Adelisa heard Adam's phone ring first and noticed Adam's surprised expression at the caller: Lola. She apparently decided to hang up the phone before he could answer, she was always very impatient. Adelisa smirked at Adam and said "well, then. She seems to really want to talk to someone. Must be bored." Adam shrugged and said "speaking of bored, we should start practicing." Adelisa groaned and said "but we just did something life changing! Can't we take a break?! It's our birthday after all!" Adam shook his head and started dragging his sister out to the barn. "Sorry, but no breaks."

Adelisa huffed childishly and cried out a "fine!" She followed behind Adam into the barn. The barn they built up together. Every dime went to the barn to add rooms and cages, everything. She smiled as she walked over to the small stage with their instruments. She looked at Adam, who was walking over to his guitar with a smile on his face. Adelisa grabbed the microphone and started their practice song, All of My Heart by Sleeping with Sirens.

Adam grinned as they played and cranked the volume louder, the animals yowling along with them. Adelisa smiled at Adam and they knew that this was their happiest place to be: rocking out on the same stage surrounded by animals.

Caden glanced at the box again, swallowing nervously. He had seriously considered putting it off another day or two, but he'd already put off opening it for too long. Various images flashed through his mind as he picked up the box and sat down beside Blake. He paused to shake the thoughts of horrendous colors or even the possibility of an empty box from his mind, exhaling slowly. "It's only my future right? No reason to freak out."

Before he could push the box away again, Caden tore the top open and reached his hand inside, wrapping his fingers around the pendant before pulling it out. Slowly he turned his fist over, opening it up to reveal a reddish hue. Caden leaned back into the couch with relief, happy to finally see his necklace. "Could have been a worse color right?" He laughed the rest of the nerves off, pushing himself up from the couch. He quickly clasped the necklace around his neck before turning to each of his guests. "I'm getting a soda from the fridge. You guys want anything while I'm out there?"

Alice sat in front of her desk and a blank sheet of paper. She had no inspiration at the moment and it was frustrating. She had a bunch of pieces of paper crumpled up next to her from her previous attempts. She was about to try one more time when her phone rang. It was Lorelei. Alice smiled and picked up the phone.
"Hey girl, what's up?" she said into her cell phone, her usual greeting to her friends.

"Oophhh" Ryan complained as T-Rex used her stomach as a mattress. "Hey kitty." Reaching down to stroke his head, Ryan decided it was a good excuse to not get up.
She was supposed to be tidying up her room, right up until she found an old book she liked and got distracted. So now she was sprawled on her bed, with a fat ginger cat kneading her stomach with his claws before plonking himself down and proceeding to start cleaning his face.
Flicking the page of her book over she found a fight scene and immersed herself between the pages.

A few chapters later, Ryan finally rolled over, receiving a reproachful glare and a small disapproving hiss as Rex was dislodged.
Sliding the book onto a shelf, she went back to attempting to tidy, sweeping piles of stuff out from where it had been collapsed under her bed. With that out the way she dropped back onto her bed, staring at the massive lump of random objects that was forming a mountain in the middle of her floor. Leaning forwards Ryan picked up a small box, messily laced round once by a gold ribbon. Gently tugging the ribbon off, she pried open the lid, revealing a coiled necklace. It was, she thought, quite a pretty thing. Not something she would chose, but lovely all the same, although some colour might be nice. Both the chain and crystal were a silver-grey, Like my eyes, but both together seemed so washed out, like they had once had colour before it got stolen.

Hooking it out of the box with one slim finger, she recalled that it was supposed to correspond to her 'soul mates' one. Utter Bull. It was the same thought as when she had first seen the necklace, and heard how it worked. Shrugging she slipped it in a pocket, resolving to see if she could find a different string to hold it, hopefully something dark to dissolve the blank feeling it seemed to give off.
