It was over. It was finally over. Well finally makes it seem like the past 12 years of school was awful, when in fact it was not. In fact, Matthew rather enjoyed his time in school and had a creeping dread of spending the rest of his life working an assigned career. That also scared him. What did I get on my test?, he had begun to wonder. Was he going to be working down in the systems area? Or would he be security? A teacher maybe. He had no idea what was in store for him. A slow sweat had formed at the top of his brow, nervousness for the future is what he attributed it to. With a slow, and subtle, movement, Matthew wiped the sweat on the sleeve of his jumpsuit. The jumpsuit he was wearing was not his workout one. He would never wear that unless he was working out. A few of his classmates walked by. They were getting ready to move on with the rest of their lives down in Vault 24. Before long one of Matthew's closer friends showed up. He had skipped the last day of class, 'sick' was his excuse.

"What'd I miss? Anything good?" He asked. "Not really. We talked about Denver a little bit. Then we talked about the Resource Wars. There were some interesting photos on the slide. I'm not sure where they got those though" Matthew trailed off. "So nothing good?" His friend asked, again. "Eh, we talked about the Great War a little too. Lancaster made a comment about Refs... again" Matthew shook his head. "Well one of the Mole Rats escaped this morning. Found it's way to the cafeteria and was eating a shit ton of food. Security Chief blew a gasket" the kid laughed a bit, both of them did. "If only the Mole Rat knew that he was eating another Mole Rat" the duo laughed again at the dark concept of Mole Rat cannibalism. "I'll catch you later Matt!" the kid said before disappearing into the various hallways of Vault 24.

After his buddy took off, Matthew decided he would hang around the classroom a little longer, just to see who else was in there. Finding a nice spot near the door, Matthew leaned against the wall and switched his attention over to his Pipboy. It was early afternoon. Whenever Matthew got onto his Pipboy, he would also do a scan for radio stations. The Pipboy was compatible with most Pre-War radio antennaes. Unfortunately Matthew never found a radio station. The only thing that COULD link him to the outside world, was no where to be seen.

Before Class
Kat woke up in a cold sweat. While she gave off the aura of someone confident and assured in what they were doing at all times, Kat was in fact actually really nervous about receiving her job for life in only a few hours. She slid out of bed and made her way to the bathroom where she faced the mirror and rubbed her eyes. She wiped the sweat from her brow using a towel before washing up and putting on her outfit for the day. A regular vault jumpsuit with her 'Rattlesnakes' leather jacket on over it. She popped the collar of the jumpsuit, but kept the jackets collar down. She tied her hair back into a ponytail before making her way into the lounge area of her home. Her father was sat, reading a book while eating mole rat meat. Her mother was probably already at work, another plate of mole rat meat sat on a plate next to Kat's father. He glanced up from his book at her before looking back down and greeting her.
"Morning, Dear." He spoke, shovelling a bit of mole rat meat into his mouth. "Judgement day as they say" He said, chuckling to himself. "I remember back when I was your age, I could hardly believe it when I got my job as Vault Loyalty Inspector" He said his job title with such pride, such satisfaction that it made Kat sick to her stomach. She couldn't believe someone whose job was basically 'Make sure people love the overseer' could take pride in it.
"Yeah sure dad, whatever." She spoke, moving her 'food' around with her fork. She suddenly felt very full, the nerves had gotten to her worse than she expected. Her eyes drifted towards the clock hanging above the door.
"I'd better get going. Catch you later dad." Her voice was devoid of the usual enthusiasm and snarkyness that it usually had. This was no time for jokes.

She made her way out of the living area and into the cascading hallways of Vault 24. She met her 'goons' as she called them waiting outside the elevator for her. They made their way in and up the long, ancient elevator. Say what you will about the Vaults mechanics, but they knew how to keep an elevator running for over 40 years. Kat rifled around in her jacket pockets for anything that could help calm her nerves. She pulled out a small, crumpled packet of gum drops that she'd extorted out of the son of a raider a few months back. She popped one into her mouth and gave one to each of her two cronies. While they'd usually poke fun at any student who was unfortunate to get the elevator with them, they were all oddly silent. The atmosphere was like a graveyard, none of them wanted to talk. They were all frightened that they'd have to be waste management in all honesty.

Kat made her way through the cafeteria and into the classroom. She took her usual seat near the middle of the classroom and bit her nails throughout the whole class, waiting for the information that would make or break her career within the vault.

After Class

Kat practically jumped with joy when she had been told what her job was. A tattoo artist of all things. It was perfect for her, she was sure the overseer would put in some sort of word with Mr. Lancaster in order to get her a job down where no one would see her, but hey presto she got the job she never knew she wanted. Her cronies didn't do so bad either, one was in mechanics and the other was 'prestigious' enough to be vault security. There was a sort of awkward sort of 'see you later' talk between Kat and her cronies before they parted ways just outside the classroom. Kat turned to see another student, Matthew finishing a conversation with one of his friends. She had never really talked to Matthew, but she'd always thought he'd make the perfect kind of goon. He didn't look like a pushover and he seemed quiet enough. A smile grew on her lips. This was the perfect chance to indoctrinate him into her gang. She walked up to him, hands in jacket pockets once more before giving him a playful punch on the shoulder.

It was the last day of school for this class. "It's finally over." He thought. He was dressed in the usual vault apparel with one minor exception around his neck hung his grandfathers ring. It was his families most prized possession despite it not being worth much it held a lot of history to it. His father used to tell him that this ring had been passed on from the start of the great war and despite its minor scratches and scuffs it was in a very good condition for its age. The class was extremely boring. The teacher droned on about stuff he had already talked about last semester. Elijah didn't know why they couldn't just start working since most of them already knew their job. He wanted to just go to the armory already and starting working. Since he wouldn't be leaving anytime soon he opted to just day dream.

In his day dream he thought of some person coming into the class to harm them. While everybody was cowering in fear Elijah decided to take action. Elijah day dreamed he would grab one of the pencils and charged the intruder since he wouldn't be expecting that. After successfully defeating his adversary he would be hailed as a hero and be loved by everyone. But just as his day dream was getting good this class bell woke him with a start. He noticed that his day dream had quickly became a dream by the small puddle of drool that was on the desk. Luckily nobody noticed and he quickly cleaned the liquid up. After looking at the clock on the wall he saw that it school was over. He thought about his schedule for the day he would be able to quickly go to the gym, work out then after a quick shower head to the armory to start working officially.

He figured he could stay for a few minutes in case anybody wanted to talk but usually nobody would since he never really spoke to anybody in class. Since Elijah's family were refugees most vault citizens didn't want to talk to them since they were genetically impure thanks to radiation and the bombs. And since most refugees didn't push themselves they tended to get the jobs that nobody wanted thus living up to the reputation of being lesser beings. Since Elijah didn't want to be associated with them he tended to not hang out with other refugees unless absolutely necessary. He decided to wait at least five minutes before leaving in case anyone wanted to talk. If nobody wanted to talk then he would make a quick run to the gym.

Jackdaw probably should have expected it, but, honestly, his eyes had been on the whole 'Maintenance Worker' bit, and so, when he got his report back as 'Vault Security Chief', his mind had certainly been thrown for a loop. He could have expected a regular security officer, but to get Chief, without even moving up through the ranks? This was really, really odd, considering there was really no reason for the Overseer to put him in such a high position. Had the man been monitoring him, trying to see how loyal he was to the vault? Come to think of it, a few of the things he did was rather...questionable, such as cleaning his dad's old stuff, target practicing in the boiler room, and things such as that nature. This could easily be something of a test, to see if he was truly loyal to the vault. Jack had no problems with that, although the suspicious nature of it all cautioned him slightly. His father had seen this vault as a home, despite all of it's discrimination against refugees, and Jack has come to see it as his home, as well. He'd do his duties with a focused, driven mindset, and he would hopefully make his mother and father proud.

Standing out of his seat, the boy turned around, about to head to the exit. There was really no reason for him to stay here. He had a few friends, such as Devon and Cassidy, but they were both adults, with Devon being a security guard and Cassidy being one of the cooks. He didn't really get along with the other teenagers of the vault, due to a lot of them being discriminatory, and he generally enjoyed talking with adults, regardless. He was practically an adult himself, and he had no interest in childish business. The other students never really saw much of Jack, and that suited him just fine. He didn't know what the future had in store for him, but he knew that it did not hold him being in some punk gang like the 'Rattlesnakes', or something similar to that. Dark golden-amber eyes glanced around as other students filtered out, his usual neutral frown pulling at his lips.

As a few other students made their way past him, Jack continued his walking, hands resting in the pockets of his, for once, fully zipped up jumpsuit, only unzipped a few inches below the collar. He was a pretty tall guy, standing at around 6 feet, give or take an inch, and his build was tough;; lean, yet muscular, another reason why no one really bothered him. Last time that happened, the other boy had gotten pulled out of school with a broken arm and a half-torn ear, and Jack had yet another minor scar added to his face, this time by a switchblade. The Rattlesnakes could be very...violent with those knives. A bit carried away by his thoughts, Jack hardly noticed when he almost bumped into a still-seated student. However, sharp instincts took over, and Jack stopped himself a few centimeters away from the occupied desk, his eyes subconsciously narrowing at the boy. "Sorry about that..." He said with a nod, before pausing. Shit...what was this guy's name again? He didn't really try to remember the other students' names..."Elijah, right?" However, he had a pretty good memory. Elijah fitted the guy's face.

Mary Hollins

Before Class

Mary was up early in the morning to eat breakfeast with her Father before he left to work. If she didn't get up early in the morning, she may see her Dad once before she had to go to sleep for the night. He worked the longest hours in Maintenance as was usual for refs in the Vault. Mary had wished many times that they wouldn't have to work so much just for a crappy place in the Vault but, after listening to her parent's stories of the waste, realized that the Wasteland was far worse than being in a segregated Vault. Even if they were constantly discriminated against, they had a flow of food which was stable and safe. They didn't have to protect themselves from the constant threat of raiders and they had free education. The medical care wasn't bad and they didn't have to worry about dying from a small knick.

"Awake already Honey?" Mary's Father said as she walked out of her room. "Yeah, I... couldn't sleep all that well. Too nervous about seeing my Job to actually sleep." Mary said to her father as she sat down to her mole rat. Her Father knew it was a blantant lie but said nothing about. Instead, he took a sip from his coffee before he said, "It's understandable. Ya know, this is going to be the job you'll have for the rest of your life. But I'm sure you'll get something great." Mary simply nodded as she chewed the mole rat. It had a weird texture and taste but it was food that wasn't irradiated so it was worth it. Mary's Father left not too long before she had to get to school so she simply said goodbye to her brother and mother before leaving.

After Class

Mary had been waiting for so long to get her test results back. She had believed she'd get something like hyrdoponics worker or lab assisstant but a Nurse was amazing. She could only imagine how proud her mother and father would be after hearing that she had gotten the job of Nurse. Mary knew that this meant that she would have to deal with the occasional person being prejudice against being cared for by a ref but it was better than being stuck in a terrible job. She would have to ride the elevator up from the ref living quarters all the way up to the floor which connected to the Doctor's office. It also meant she would have to walk past Vault Security everyday.

Mary nearly passed out when she got the results but managed to stay standing, though she was unsure if she would be able to later. She stood up with the rest of the students when the bell rang for dismissal but still stood by her desk as everybody else left. Twelve years, I've spent twelve years learning in these class rooms here. To think that time passed so quickly and now I'm moving on to a job. Mary couldn't help but remark to herself that she wasn't likely to ever have to pass through the class rooms again. She wouldn't see the people she had practically grown up with in those very same rooms as often as she had in the past twelve years. Sure they may occasionally visit the Doctor's Office, but they wouldn't be there every day. Mary moved to leave the class room only to get out and bump into somebody in the hallway.

"S..sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you." Mary said before you she looked up. Mary's face turned from nervous to a tad bit on the side of afraid. She had bumped into Kat, of all people in the entire vault she had to bump into Kat. Mary knew who Kat was and knew that it was best to avoid the leader of the gang know as the 'Rattlesnakes' otherwise it might not end so well for you. She was deathly afraid of the gang and had tried to avoid them, and Kat, at all costs while she was finishing her schooling. And it just had to be that on the last day of school she bumps into Kat on accident. This world just seemed to be against Mary in all matters now.

"So what job did you get, Nerd?"

The woman who approached was Kat. She was notorious for leading a band of delinquents called the 'Rattlesnakes'. From time to time Matthew and his friends would joke and call them the 'Rattlesnacks', but of course not to their faces. It was not that Matthew was afraid of retaliation for making a joke of them, it was just that it would be unnecessary fighting if he said it to their face. For most of his time as a Vault Dweller, Matthew had been able to steer clear of the Rattlesnakes and their cohorts. Every once in awhile he would be forced to interact with one, but it was not often. But apparently the ring leader decided it would be absolutely imperative to speak with him after class. Matthew let out a sigh and prepared to speak. Suddenly another girl appeared but she accidentally bumped into Kat. Oh great, Matthew thought. He figured it would be best for him to speak up before Kat could react.

"Simple accident. Coulda' happened to anyone. Mary, right? I'm sure that Kat here wasn't too offended by your little mistake" Matthew smiled to try and make it seem like everything was okay. "As for your question Kat. I have not checked my results yet. They're at home. But I'm sure it won't be as cool as your new job as a..." he trailed for a second. "What did you get?"

Kat felt a thump in her side and a small voice call out
"S..sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you." Kat's eyes darted to the small girl like a bullet. She turned to fully face her, keeping her hands in her pockets. Her eyes suddenly grew cross, her eyebrows furrowed and her mouth frowned. Her mouth opened to speak, but she was interrupted by Matthew seemingly defusing the situation and telling Kat that he hadn't yet got his results. She would have continued with her actions towards the small girl if she didn't think that Matthew would have been as good as goon as he could have been. But it actually seemed like he was sort of smart. She had learned that a good goon was a stupid one a while ago after one of her old goons had tried to convince the two current goons to betray her and follow him. Let's just say it didn't end well for him, they organized an ambush on a raider kid and purposefully let him get his arm snapped, only feigning a knife slice towards the guy they ambushed face to make it seem like they actually wanted to help.
"I'm now a fully certified tattoo artist" She answered. She turned to Mary and painfully put a smile on.
"So what did you get-" She hesitated for a bit. "Marie...?" Kat hadn't realized she got the girl's name wrong. She had only spoken to her once or twice and it just seemed sad to steal from or bully someone so....small.

Osaki, or better known as Ki, sat a little while in her desk going over what she had learned once more. It was a lot to take in, even if she heard it so many times. The idea that outside their home in the vault was a desolate land of death and decay. That there was nothing up there waiting to be re-explored. She let out a sigh and looked at her pipboy and looked at her new job description. Maintenance technician. It was not the most wanted job in the vault, hell some people dreaded getting it. She would admit that she had no love for it either, but if the vault needed her there then she would accept it. She watched as some of her classmates left the room, and she had to smile as the local gang tried to recruit somebody. At least she thought she was recruiting someone. Why else talk to someone outside your gang nicely if not to recruit him? She was happy that none of the stories or horrors that where told to us just now did not break anyones spirits.

She decided it was time to join those students that were exiting the classroom. She might as well go down to the maintenance wing and check in. She expected a new uniform which would be a good change in pace. She rose up turning her pipboy off as she did so and proceeded to leave the classroom.
While she made her way out the class she heard several conversations break out here and there about what job they got. She rolled up her sleaves, or she would have rolled them up if she had not cut them off. She thought a fight between Kat and Marry was going to break out, but Mathew defused it rather quick. Mathew was pretty smart and it did not surprise her. Mathew was probably the smartest person she knew, well as in students like her. They would likely ask her what she got when she passed through. Maybe not though, they might not even notice her as she went by.

She heard Kat say she was a tattoo artist. She rose a brow at the thought. Did not know that was a job option. The Overseer must have been too much on the jet at the time when he put it in the system. Then who knows maybe we learned something new about our overseer. Would be surprising if Kat's first customer was the overseer himself. She stopped and looked to Kat and decided to say something.
"Tattoo artist huh? Interesting, perhaps now i have chance to hide this damn birth mark." She said twisting the collar around her jumpsuit.
"I got stuck in the maintenance wing. Perhaps when I get time I will visit your parlor." She looked to Mathew and Mary with a bit of a smile. "Well I hope you two where luckier then me. Looks like Kat got the one job that sounds like fun."

"I.. well its nothing big. I've been... assigned to be a nurse in the doctor's office. I guess it is nice than maintence worker." Mary said after Osaki came into the conversation. She was thankful Kat wasn't going to do anything but she was very nervous around everybody. They were all citizens talking to her, a refugee, and weren't just making fun of her. It was the first time she ever had been around a citizen without them instantly insulting her. This made Mary worry as this was not a usual thing in her everyday life. But, Mary didn't really have to worry all that much since she would have to become use to people actually being nice to her if she was going to become a Nurse. Mary slowly began to slink down the hallway from the group, simply backing away hoping that they wouldn't actually notice. She just wanted to get home without many people noticing she was leaving.

As Mary was walking away from the group, she realized that leaving wouldn't be the nicest thing to do. While she didn't quite feel comfortable with the group, she was unwilling to leave after Matthew and butt in and distracted Kat. Matthew seemed like a good guy, though Mary didn't quite know him on a personal level. Osaki wasn't a person Mary knew as well but she was unwilling to simply leave in the middle of conversation. Mary would stay as long as they were having a conversation but it was not in her comfort zone. "I guess maintenance isn't too bad. My father works there. I'm sure a tattoo artist is fun though. I'm not much of an artist so I wouldn't really be able to do it myself." Mary said awkwardly to the others. She hoped she hadn't said something offensive to them in the process.

Elijah found himself sitting there broad out of his mind waiting for the five minutes to be up. He was using the time to just chill out for a little bit.Looking over he saw the girl that lead the local gang trying to either hustle or persuade a guy to join her gang of hooligans. Ha that shit won't work. He's not as dumb as you girl He thought. Near the 4 minute mark he saw that somebody nearly bumped into his desk. Looking up he knew it was one of the refugees. Why was he apologizing. "Why you apologizing you didn't run into the desk so no need dude." He said. " Yeah you got the name right. Yours was Jackdaw right?" He asked the man.

Hey, so this guy did know his name. Jack's eyebrow arched slightly, and the boy rested his hands fully in his pockets, glancing back down to Elijah. He hadn't hung out with the boy, nor anyone else in this class for that matter, but they all had to have known each other's names. They've been in the same class for practically twelve years, right? "Yeah, Jack." He responded, amber eyes quickly taking stock of what was happening around the classroom. Outside the door, the little 'party' was picking up, with four people now grouped around the one person...Katherine. It was a rather amusing sight, considering the tall, red-haired thug wasn't usually the most friendliest of girls, but, eh. Maybe she was attempting to be friendly at the last day of school, or something of that note.

At that thought, he realized that, maybe, he should begin to head out and take care of some work. He still had to clean his dad's 10mm, get something to eat, head to the security quarters for his uniform, and then, most-likely, meet with the Overseers for some sort of job discussion, considering he'd be working directly under the two. With that thought in mind, Jack turned his eyes back to Elijah, nodding once. "Catch you later." He was usually a bit brisk in his talks, but it was never directly rude. Just abrupt. Walking past the boy's desk, Jack exited the classroom, dark golden eyes looking at Katherin's group for a split second, before his interested dwindled almost immediately, and he was right back on track to his room.

The third girl to join the group, Osaki, had begun asking about the jobs that people had gotten. Mary had gotten assigned to be a nurse for the rest of her life. Kat had been assigned the job of tattoo artist, which Matthew did not even know was a real job that was offered in the Vault. Maybe they had given her the job of tattoo artist to keep her busy and away from people and in an environment that she would possibly thrive in. Matthew did not know, and to be honest, he barely cared about why. But all of this talk about jobs had begun to make Matthew curious about what they had assigned him. He was growing very curious. So bad that he was contemplating just departing from the group abruptly to go to his home. But that would be rude. So he would wait, or somehow figure out a way to weasel out of the conversation.

"Again, I don't know what my results are. I'll probably find out here soon though. I think they are at my home" Matthew said. "So now that we have about a week before we need to begin our new jobs. What are you guys planning on doing to kill the time?"

The question Mathew asked was something she did not think of. She wanted to grab her uniform and trim it to her desires, but that would only take a hour or two. She would have a whole week to herself. She found herself moving to the opposite wall from where Mathew leaned and used it for the same manner. "I don't rightly know. It would be the civilized thing to say I would relax with some friends, but I don't have any friends. At least I don't think I have any." She answered. She had no idea how to answer it more properly then that. She avoided most of the ref's because they called her names just because she looked some what Chinese ,and she never socialized with Kat because... Kat was Kat. She did not grow up with a single cut or bruise anywhere, she wanted to keep it that way. Although Kat seemed rather loyal to those like her, or anyone who was born in the vault from the get go. Seeing as the only casualty she knew of was some ref who likely did not take the teasing too lightly.

She waited for others to respond to Mathew's question. Perhaps she would revise her response to anyone who might have a better way of spending the small vacation. She wouldn't even mind chilling with the Rattlesnake gang if it meant getting to be around someone other than her parents. Who knows maybe she might invite Mary over or something. She figured it would be smart to make friends with the person who would likely be patching her up when she has a accident fixing something.

Kat looked to the ceiling pondering over Matthew's question. She heard Osaki speak about having no friends. She thought it was rather sad. Behind the tough exterior was actually someone rather caring, but of course if she showed that side of herself then no one would take her seriously as a gang leader. She breathed out thinking. Eventually she made a sort of unsure noise and answered.
"I dunno what i'll be doing, really, I heard they dug up that 'Robots 2500' board game from the maintenance room so I might try and get my hands on that and get a few people together to play it." She looked back down to the group, grinning.
"Other than that, dick all really. It seems kind of pointless to poke fun at people now that I probably won't see them very often anymore."

Elijah nodded his head "Holy shit. Who would've thought I'd get his name right. Hell half the time I'm not even paying attention in here" He thought to himself. Looking up he saw Jack watching the group of people in the corner of the class. That's odd. Why is she being so friendly today? Is there some ulterior motive to this? He asked himself. Elijah took a quick look up at the clock I gotta get going soon. But I can't seem like a dick. Luckily Jack had to go as well with a swift "Catch you later" He was already leaving. "See you later too" Elijah said quickly.

"Alright time to go to the gym" Elijah mumbled to himself. With that he quickly made his way out of the classroom and started heading towards the elevator. Taking a little over a minute he found himself at the elevators doors, pressing the down button the elevator opened its doors allowing him to step inside. "Thank god the I didn't have to wait on the elevator. Now the gym is on floor three" He said. After a short elevator ride Elijah was in the gym. The gym was a pretty massive room in the vault and at any given time there were around 20-50 people there. Currently it was at the smaller end with about 25 people there. Elijah speed walked to the locker rooms and changed into a pair of workout clothes. Once dressed and with his vault uniform in a locker, Elijah walked over to the bench press and started his lifts.

Jack Missouri
Elevator/Atrium

Jackdaw took a right through the atrium, his lightly scarred visage turning into a slightly deeper frown when a few of the natural Vault citizens seemed to shrink away. He was beginning to get tired of the discrimination. He had naively thought that graduating, and getting a real job, would have garnered him more respect amongst the other dwellers...but that was a false dream, apparently. As his thoughts began to act up his annoyance level, the man clenched his fists, brushing roughly past a wandering Vault Dweller on his way to the elevator. Pressing the button, he entered the opening steel doors, leaning back against the wall once he was settled inside. However, a small 'ahem' alerted him instantly to another presence, and Jack opened his dark golden eyes, revealing the annoyance within the irises. Just as he thought... "Oh, so Jacky-boy, you're finally alone, huh?" Two jackasses...despite their tough words, they were rather...scrawny. He almost felt bad about what he was about to do. "Hey, Larry, let's show this nasty rad-blood-" This was a bit of a miracle, in some ways. He was getting pretty stressed. As the doors closed, and Jack casually slapped the 'Down' button on his way to stand fully, the supposed 'Larry' felt an inkling of regret.

_______________________________________________________

Jack Missouri
Refugee Living Quarters

The elevator opened, and a few wandering Refugees, whom were simply cleaning around their rather shitty living quarters, glanced over to the doors, curious on whom was coming down. It wasn't often their quarters got visited, other than for routinely check-ups by Security Guards and, even more rarely, one of the Overseers themselves. Jackdaw exited the entrance, leaving behind two jump-suit-wearing figures, whom were both groaning in a heap. Jackdaw himself had a bruise on the side of his jaw, from a lucky hook, but otherwise, he wasn't injured. His jumpsuit seemed a bit more ruffled, if that counted. As the elevator doors closed, most-likely sending the two back up to the Atrium, Jackdaw exhaled, giving the Refs a nod, before walking over to his living quarters. The cleaning continued shortly after, the other refugees not bothered with the scene. It happened quite often amongst them;; It was simply impossible for natural Vault Citizens and Refugees to get along indefinitely.

As the door closed and locked behind him, Jack sat on his rather barren bed, his scowl slowly drifting away to reveal a slight smirk. Falling back onto the bed, the man let out a rough chuckle, bringing an arm up to cover his eyes from the low light of his room's lamp. "Damn. I'm getting too old for this shit..." He, muffled by his jumpsuit's fabric, quoted one of his father's old quotes. Sighing, he dropped his arms, golden eyes slowly closing. A nap wouldn't hurt, right? But should he be napping at such an important time? Ugh.

He sat back up, swift hands nimbly unlocking the nightstand beside his bed. Reaching into the darkness, he pulled out a weathered-looking 10mm. "Might as well." He muttered under his breath, standing. Jack grabbed the cleaning kit from out of the nightstand, before closing the safe-keeping department. Sitting himself in his work-desk, the man rested both objects on the desk's rough wooden surface, before expertly flipping the gun between his fingers, slamming his left palm against the side. The loaded magazine smoothly slid out, from years of greasing and shining, and with his eyes narrowed in concentration, Jackdaw began the slow, arduous process...

"We have an assault on two Vaulties" the call came in on the radio intercom in the Security Office. The Vault Security Force consisted of about twenty five officers. Now for the most part they would be armed with 10mm hand guns, ballistic vests, helmets, and batons. But when it came to dealing with the Refs, the Security Force always wanted to display just how strong they were. Once the call came in, the officers waited for more information. Finally came a follow-up intercom call. "Jackdaw Missouri, level 6, Refugee Living Quarters." The intercom went silent for a moment then buzzed back to life. "Force is authorized". With that the officers in the room began to scramble to their lockers. The highest ranking officers moved to the fancier lockers and began to fit into their ballistic vests. Pistols were retrieved from the Security Office Armory, as well as some assault rifles. Ammunition magazines were loaded into belts and straps on the vests. Helmets were placed on heads. Ten Security Officers in total would be making the move downstairs to detain Jackdaw Missouri. When it came to dealing with Refs, the Security Force was always more heavy-handed and always wanted to show force. The first Officer in the column pressed a button and the Security Office door raised open.

The soldiers moved slowly through the upper level Living Quarters. The silver hallways over the Vault echoed with the sounds of boots on the ground. After passing through the Living Quarters, the Officers entered the Atrium. All Vault Dwellers that were in the Atrium knew that something that was not good was about to happen, so they got out of the way. The Officers quickly passed through the Atrium and made it to the elevator. By now, word had spread through parts of the Upper Vault Levels that the Vault Security Force had deployed some troops. But people did not know where they were going or why. There were four elevators total and the Officers took two. Five Officers per elevator. The ride down was slow and sweat had begun to form at the brows of most of the Officers. Once the elevator doors were opened, the visors on the helmets were switched down and weapons were raised and at the ready.

"Move move" the highest ranking Officer said, making hand motions while speaking. They moved down the hallways, Refs jumped out of the way and into their homes. The leading Officer had Jackdaw's home highlighted on his Pipboy. They were just a few doors down now. After a few more seconds, they were at the door. Three lined up at either side of the door and four lined up into two rows of two at the front of the door. The two leads at the front of the door nodded their heads and then one of the Officers pressed a button. The door slid open and the Officers rushed in.

"Hands up Missouri!"

-Before Class-

Ruth awoke feeling sick to her stomach almost throwing up thinking about what her test results would say. Getting out of bed she felt a bit shaky on her feet she was both nervous and excited find out what job she would be given. Putting those thoughts to the back of her mind she had to get ready for school. She quickly slipped her clothes on which which was the same every one else's except for a few more pockets her mother sewn on. Not forgetting the most important things she owned which where her ancestors pocket book which she slipped in one of her inside pockets and his helmet which she slapped on her head. Most people made fun of Ruth for wearing it but she didn't care about anything people had to say about her. Making her way into the empty kitchen Ruth grabbed the two mole rat sausages that her mother had made before leaving for school.

-After School-

She can't believe that she had to stay behind for arriving late it wasn't her fault she had missed the first elevator and the next one that came was full. At least it was a fair amount of time as she only had to make up the five minutes she had missed. It wasn't the first time Ruth had been late as she never left enough time in her commute incase to account for any possible delays. In fact Ruth had been talked to about how she wouldn't be able to do this when she had a job as it could land her in serious trouble. Sitting in her seat she watched a very odd scene out of the corner of her eyes seeing several of her fellow students who never associated with each other having a chat even the local school bully who had picked on Ruth on a few occasions. She was staring even more at the group trying to hear what they were saying. When the teacher told Ruth she could Ruth leaped out of her seat being shocked by the teacher. Unfortunately she tripped on one of the chair legs falling down her head making contact with the ground making a large clang as her helmet absorbed the blow. But it still hurt sitting up she rubbed her head as her ears ringing.

She rather enjoyed gossiping with the other classmates. Even better when Kat is involved and no one has been given a bloodied nose. Then her enjoyment ended with the sound of to older vaulties talking about security being deployed. startled her and looked to the others and then down the hall towards them. "Wonder why security has been deployed?" She began asking. She then grew worried about her mother and father as well. "I hope it isn't too bad of a problem for security."

Before class:

Oscar was excited for the results for hi G.O.A.T. He was emotional preparing for this day. Even if he does not get the right type of job that he wants, Oscar will do anything to achieve his dreams. Even if he has to use his free time to just drawing and designing then that is what he will do. Oscar did his normal routine in the morning. Wake up. Breakfast. Shower and teeth. Clothes. Saying goodbye to Gramps and smelling his coffee in the morning. He and his Gramps are early birds. They usually have small discussions in the morning before class. But today Oscar rush his routine a bit to get to class early. Gramps ask "Why are you leaving so early? Class does not start for another forty five minutes." Oscar replied " Big day. Big test. Will explain later." When he arrived to class, he decided to take the most strategic desk. The one he has been asking the previous years which is collect and handed back first. This is the seat that he took. Oscar did this because the excitement and stress was gnawing him on the inside although he does not show it.

During Class:

The test, The G.O.A.T, seems similar to an IQ test that his gramps described to him.The professer probably takes the answers and matches them to pre-determined jobs. Anyway, a test is a test. The major difference is that this test determines the rest of one's life.

After Class:

Oscar was pleased about his job and what it entails. He was given the job of fabricator. Although he does not make entire machines, Oscar does make the parts that are used to replace the worn ones. Oscar decided to stay in class and draw for a bit. After a few minutes, Oscar heard the sounds of the boots on the cold floor. Large amount of them by the sound of it. Most probably security gaurds. Puzzled by this, He decide to poke his head out of the class and noticed a small group of his class mates formed a group that looks to have formed for discussing their results. Some of them looked puzzled and worried about the sounds of boots. Oscar went over and asked " Hey, why does it probably sound like that security is mobilizing?"
