What do you mean you don't know? ...Let's find out!

Feuertanz, Quilava, Male

Personality: Spirited, brazen and gregarious, but timid if backed into a corner.
Motivation: The joy of discovery!
Biography: Tanz (tants) is a disenfranchised youth with nothing to lose and the world to gain. He was born into a family of metalworkers in Sabiland before the conquest. The formative years of his youth were spent helping his father out around the shop, fetching and stoking the fires and quenching steel...
The old man's reasoning was that if he was old enough to lift a hammer and work the bellows, he was old enough to work the forge! ...Oh, sure, it was dangerous for a child. He got hurt sometimes, but his father said it was good for him!

As much as Tanze liked helping his father on the forge, it wasn't the life for him. He was sent away at a young age to Schwarzenburg to study magic. At first, it was an awful experience. He was rejected from both the academy and the clergy the first season. When he failed the entrance exam at Schwarzenburg Academy the second time, he found himself at a loss - broke now, a three day journey from home (the furthest he'd ever been!) and faced with failure. A couple of days later he was found slumped in the rain on the steps of the same chapel that had turned him away. The Seer there fed him, promised him shelter for the night, and quietly watched his behavior.

The next day, he didn't leave. Feuertanz was put to work a little after first light. First he swept the floors, then he played gopher for the Speaker for a couple of hours - fetching this, or that, and then he was given a little silver candelabra on a chain of gold. His studies would begin at sunset.

Skills/Abilities: His greatest skill is his ability to purge disease poison from another's body, close bleeding wounds, and encourage the regeneration of damaged tissue. He can't instantly cure an injury, but he can help set a patient on a strong road to recovery with a mixture of magic and mundane tinctures.
As must be expected, he also has a decent understanding of how to work metal. Oh, and he can read and write both in common and in German. If necessary, it's also very possible that Feuertanz will turn his cleansing fire on an aggressor...
Personal Effects: A golden ring given by his father, a silver candelabra given by the Eye of Anhara, and a pocket-sized book of Anhara.
Other: Fuertanzen follows the teachings of Anhara, the spirit of light. It's a teaching that embraces passion and energy, that strength comes from the heart.

<Optional Quote>

Nihonto, Typhlosion, Male

Personality: Swift and deliberate in action, Jovial in person.
Motivation: To carry out the will of his lord, Sakana.
Biography: Nihonto grew up in the tiny but ambitiously named "Grand Principality of Moravia". He was born and raised in the village of Echternach, and for his formative years never ventured more than five or six miles from home. With an impoverished family, who were scarcely able to squeeze a surviving crop out of the unforgiving earth, he learned early on that he would have to earn his keep. After his first evolution, certain... doors opened to him; he found money in places that he is now ashamed to confess.

It was during this time that he met Sakana - then an ambitious Buizel, whose constant fervor convinced him to join the local levy. It was an outfit of no more than a hundred and fifty souls. They signed on together and got put in the batallion - the odds of that were fairly good, there were only three. Each received a spear and a single piece of gold, and were started immediately on their drills. And it continued like this for some time, as Nihonto took home a few precious silver every day and slowly learned to fight.

Eventually, the Grand Principality went to war, joined by a loose coalition of kingdoms that bordered this bend of the Rhine. Their united enemy: The army of Moere. It was with great fear that Nihonto finally accompanied his levy to war; they joined up with the Grand Prince's army and marched under his command; just one in a meager and unruly horde of three thousand men. In due time, the army was destroyed at the battle of Langsur - a last stand for the coalition. Nihonto's own home of Echternach had been burned to the ground during the campaign, and though there was no word of his family, he could only assume nothing remained for him there.
And, for once, the Moere army simply abandoned the territory that they had conquered. The prince was dead, the coalition had been destroyed, and most of the region's wealthiest cities had been burned to the ground.

Sakana, always more spirited than he, rallied the survivors and what stragglers he could find; they know one thing and that was war. So they would continue. They would strike out into the wasteland that had become of their home and carve out a piece of it for themselves. Others had the same idea - for a time the region devolved into bloody civil war and nobody could ever quite remember where the old borders had laid. But by the time it was done, Sakana and his band had secured their dominance over small region that was roughly composed bits and pieces of the old coalition's territories. And then, knowing their time at the top of the heap would only last as long as it took another warlord to rise, Sakana contacted King Veske by runner. The newly forged kingdom voluntarily capitulated to the Moere Empire, securing their own place in the world while offering the Empire a way to extend their control over the region.

As for his personal growth during this conflict, Nihonto learned to survive. He learned to kill. He was knighted when Sakana had secured his place in the world, and during this ceremony he was given an ancient sword that his men had taken from an old family's home during the turmoil...

Skills/Abilities: Excellent swordfighter and martial artist, rudimentary skill with fire magic.
Personal Effects: Nagina, an ancient and enchanted weapon that channels and amplifies his otherwise rather lackluster magic.
Other: He's extremely insecure about Nagina, and never lets the sword leave his sight. He talks to it, and sometimes he wonders if it's trying to answer...

Nihonto is an older character built for this setting. I don't have the time to fill in his details right now, but I'll be running him as an NPC if you encounter him.

Frey, Cubone, Female

"They can't break us if we don't let them."

Personality: Loyal, Brash, and Stubborn
Motivation: The mastery of battle.
Biography: Frey's childhood was with a poor family, but as a cubone she inherently knew her way around a blade. It was no different from how their species used to wield bones. She learned from her father's experience as well, though she knew not where his own skill came from. She didn't exactly know how to use her skills though. It was something that she hadn't been thinking about when learning it. Most of her friends grew distant because of her training as well. She lived with a Pawniard that was better than her with a blade too, that seemed to be one of the only ones still around after she felt confident enough.

Seeing her stuck with how to move forward, the Pawniard nudged the guard he worked in to acknowledge her skill and add her to their ranks. She was not as good with a blade as any of the soldiers though and stood a chance of being ousted from the job before she started.

She stressed over this, pushing her body to the limit by training with her friend. But when she wore herself out she only seemed to fall in their sparring matches, and pushing herself even harder gave her no progress. She despaired that her training had been for naught and wondered just how others could be so much faster and more skilled than her. One match when she was being beaten down and cut by her friend, he told her to rest and recover. Unwilling to give up she sought a way to put him off balance and take the lead. Her weapon was disarmed easily enough due to her fatigue, and her friend went to back her into the ground, tell her to seek other disciplines, that this wasn't for her.

As the blade came down she found boulders around her forming into a slab that was attached to her arm. She repelled his attack and pinned him to the ground with a stone shield that suddenly materialized in front of her. She wasn't sure how she did it, but she now had the advantage of a shield that she could call back to herself at will. Cubone had been close to the earth in the past, she figured that she must have tapped into that latent power in herself somehow. She still was not the best fighter in the guard, but showing off her new ability, her skill with a blade was no longer a contest to overcome. The guard was eager to have someone with potential like that and she was accepted even if she still had a lot to learn.

Skills/Abilities: She has decent expertise with a blade, but can be overcome pretty easily by any who is a true expert in it. Her skill comes more from her use of shields and lances, she has found. And she will opt to use these instead if she can. She also can form a shield or lance with enough stone in the vicinity and has very slight control of earth magic.

Personal Effects: Her mother's helm...or skull, as most cubone wear. Her mother died in combat, and her father gave her the skull as per tradition. She also has one of her Pawniard friend's blades, though it is not the one she uses.

"One should always fight for what they believe is right, even if they're fighting alone."

Thorvald Evergreen, Sceptile, Male

Personality: Determined, calculating, and with an iron will.
Motivation: To teach the world that magic, and magic users can be tools for good, rather than simply evil.
Biography: As a young Treecko, Thorvald wasn't all too different from his younger siblings, they all annoyed each other, they all worked at their parents' farm, and they all kind of hated it. Yes, each and every one of them seemed to have some dream of doing something other than farmwork for the rest of their lives, and as for Thorvald, he wanted to teach. Teach what? Not even he knew at the time, but he'd often skip his work to learn things, such as reading, writing, or basic math... unfortunately, he never had a teacher, himself, so it didn't really work out too well at first. As their farm was miles away from the nearest city, the family never really heard the news that their city, and the farm, was taken over by Moer. Of course, as they continued being oblivious, for years, they simply continued as if nothing new had happened, that is, until the day Thorvald reached his 17th birthday, which seemed to go on normally, at first, with Thorvald allowed to take a break from working at the farm, however, later that evening, two squires in Moer colors came up to the house, and demanded that they see the family's first-born son. Thorvald's parents didn't want to give him to the strangers, however, they also didn't have any real means of defending themselves, so, as soon as the squires threatened them with a spear and a mace, they ran, and almost threw Thorvald, who was, by then, a Grovyle at the Moer squires, telling him to "Be brave, son!" and "We're sorry, but we had no choice!"

It was then, after a few weeks of being trained to properly use a spear (it wasn't that difficult), that Thorvald was thrown into this war with some cheap armor, and a basic spear. He was told that he'd be fodder for the enemy, that they'd be lucky if he could take anyone down, but that he had no other option. Deserting was certainly not one, and neither was betrayal. Thorvald had more than a few close calls on his first day, and, amazingly, he made it out alive. He didn't, however, manage to kill any enemies, either. That night, he simply collapsed into his 'bed', that is, assuming it could be called that. The next morning, he heard someone talking, well, mumbling, but still. Thorvald thought it was the enemy, at first, so he jumped out of bed, and ran towards the sound. It turned out to be another recruit, a Lucario knight, who seemed to be writing something. Said something was apparently a letter, one that, unfortunately, Thorvald couldn't read, for the most part. He could make out a few simple words here and there, but he couldn't figure out what any of it meant. Thorvald heard the Lucario then say to him "Ah, there you are, now, deliver this to the general. He needs to know," Thorvald, not knowing what else to do, took the letter, delivered it straight to the general, and then ran back with another. For all the good it did, the cheap armor was fairly lightweight. Thorvald, curious about the letter, first asked what it said, and after the Lucario, who finally introduced himself as Richard laughed and told him that it wasn't his business to know, Thorvald asked if Richard could teach him to read and write. During the next few years, Thorvald thankfully stayed alive, even if only barely, and was not only aiding this army in... whatever it was they were doing, he was also learning, and this time with someone who actually knew something.

Over the years, Thorvald grew, mostly on the battlefield, but, he was also officially a knight in the Moer army, and he was actually proud of that. Oddly, they tried to teach him to properly use a sword, but that didn't work too well, and Thorvald simply kept using the spear he was given. It was doing its job well enough, as it was. The armor, of course, was replaced, and while it wasn't the best, it was much better than that almost clothing-thin armor they gave the new recruits. Things were looking up for him, that was, until he was asked to search for, and destroy a specific pokemon, who was supposedly in a cabin somewhere in the forest. Thorvald accepted the mission without hesitation, and found the cabin within the week, however, when he opened the door, he expected to find another, weapon-bearing pokemon, however, what he found was a frail, old Venusaur who greeted him with a smile as if he was just a guest. "Uh... you have committed a ... crime against Moer?" Thorvald said to the old Venusaur, uncertain of himself. The Venusaur responded with "Oh, I have? Hm... I don't recall doing anything against 'em. I just said that I'd prefer they keep out of my affairs, is all," Thorvald, confused, asked "So, you haven't done anything?" The Venusaur shook his head, which unfortunately, released some pollen from the giant, wilting flower on his back. Still confused, and now sneezing, Thorvald asked "Wait... so why'd they send me here?" the Venusaur thought for a moment, and eventually came up with an answer of "Perhaps... it is because I know magic. Nature magic, to be exact, and they must feel threatened by that," Thorvald had never even heard of magic until just now, and, after a demonstration, he figured that neither it, nor he was harmful... however, the rest of the army would have his head if he didn't have this Venusaur's.

Thorvald spared the Venusaur's life under the condition that he would teach Thorvald as much as he can about this 'magic', and the Venusaur, who eventually introduced himself as Oak, agreed. While Oak seemed content to teach him magic that would heal things, and grow plants, Thorvald would always find some way to weaponize it, from making a tree sprout from directly under an opponent, to even finding a way to damage them using nature energy, itself, and yes, he could use nature magic to a decent degree, however, Thorvald could never seem to grasp the concept of poison magic, let alone removing it. Over the years, Thorvald also learned which types of plants in this world healed, and which could poison... of course, that was the only way he could poison. Thorvald also, over the years learned several new techniques which combined his magic with his weapon training, however, he also kept on the lookout for other soldiers... even if they didn't come. Thorvald, finally trained in magic, finally left Oak, and having nowhere else to go, he walked off to Sabiland, the nearest civilization at the time. As soon as he got there, he resolved to teach the average pokemon that magic, in and of itself, nor its users, are evil... unfortunately, as of now, nobody seems too keen on listening to him.

Skills/Abilities: Thorvald can read, write, is great at using a spear in battle, and can also utilize several forms of nature magic, which can manifest itself as several things, such as sprouts which drain the life from their host, and give the drained life to the user, an orb of solidified nature energy, meant to simply damage a foe, though it may weaken their defenses against magic, a spear made of razor-sharp leaves (strengthened by nature magic to be harder than iron), well, the spearhead is, anyways, the shaft is still made of whatever material it's normally made of, or even gigantic roots, which can either slam into the enemy, or entangle them, though, Thorvald rarely uses this form of magic, given that it tires him out.

Personal Effects: His knight's armor, which was made to be light, just so it doesn't restrict his movements, his old, reliable spear, which isn't exactly special or enchanted in any way, his plain, brown tunic which he wears over his armor, a bag, some bread, and a canteen full of water.

Other: Nothing to add, I guess.

Ok, so just so we get a bit more factions.

Aelvail: A kingdom in the south of Italy. Not very war driven, the kingdom is more concentrated on farming exotic plants as well as farming, as well as studies of the old world. Size wise, think of it as the bottom half size of today's Italy, and expending.

“Trust is not gained by blood, it is gained by actions.”

Erion Van Purr, Espurr, Male

Personality: Calm, quick thinking, dosen’t trust others easy.
Motivation: To learn as much as he can from the world to become stronger.
Biography: Erion was born in the kingdom of Aelvail as the youngest son of the king of the region. Life was rather calm for him. As the youngest son of the king, he would get education about the world, learning from different subjects. The king had a plan for him. He was going to become a duke in a new kingdom in the north. So Erion continued to study, also learning about using a rapier for self defense.

His older brother though, a meowstic, who would be the next king, was full of himself, not thinking about others, and rather demanding on his actions. He would ask the pokemon's around the castle to do every chore, even those that he would be suppose to do, telling them that if they didn’t, then they would be sent to the chopping block. The king warned his son multiple times, and slowly he started to be more quiet about it, although sometimes screams could be heard in the castle, down in the dungeon. Erion didn’t like that at all… He didn’t like how his brother was. He respected the pokemon's around the castle, which caused pokemon's to like him more. The king, after some time, started to think about making Erion the next heir to the throne… But it would not be… because his brother caught word of it from gossips.

Erion though, trained hard day after day with his teacher, a zoroark who had mastered the use of the weapon a long time ago. Each day they would dual, even if Erion was smaller then his teacher. Although what Erion lacked in strength, he compensated with mental powers, forcing his strikes to hit hard and true. Fight after fight he would become more agile with the blade.

After some time, Erion started to notice his father getting sicker and sicker each day. He was getting suspicious about it. Something was wrong… He started to listen to doors, listening to what pokemon's said. Some pokemons gossiped that his brother was poisoning the king... and he then heard something about a assasination attempt…. Towards him! His own brother…. Wanted to kill everyone in his family to become king. He knew he had to do something...

But it was too late.. When Erion got to his room to get his things, a group of three zangoose jumped him, blade ready. In a quick sudden move, Erion parried the blades before using his mental force and pushing the zangoose back, before plunging his blade in one of the zangoose stomach. He then moved forwards, countering another strike of a zangoose, using what he learned of his teacher. He then disarmed one of them who started to run away, The last one, looking at Erion, was able to strike him right at the blade arm, making Erion drop his weapon. Erion though was not over. With a strong mental strike, he pushed the zangoose out the window, making it fall to it’s doom. He then quickly closed the door, barricaded it and threated his wound using some healing salve he learned to make from books. He then grabbed what he could, including a gray cloak before hearing the door starting to get bashed.

Erion in a quick movement, moved out of the window and then started to climb down, using his mental powers to help him. He moved down, the moon shining brightly. He got to the floor and then started to run, before skillfully getting to the gate and jumping down to the river bellow. He then quickly got out and started to run away, in the light of the night, going north. His brother would pay for this…. One day… He could not go and attack his brother, who probably had a dozen of those assasins protecting him, knowing how he worked.

So he moved north, towards the north. He could not ask the other kingdoms for help… but he could inform them of what was coming. With how crazy his brother was… war was going to come…. One day or the other.

Skills/Abilities: Erion is very good at using a rapier, having trained hard. He is also able to read and write in both Italian and English. He is able to make basic healing salve.
Lastly, he is able to move objects with his mind, at a maximum distance of 12 meters. These mental powers can also be used to strengthen his strikes. He can also use it to create a psychic barrier that can protect him from attacks.
He also is able to use lightning based attack slightly, able to throw a lightning bolt at a target or enchant his rapier with lightning so that blocking would still do some damage from the metal.
Personal Effects: A well forged rapier, a grey cloak, a bag of medical herbs. He also has a green shirt with the emblem of his kingdom in the back, a eye symbole with the initial of a V.P. engraved inside the eye.

“All you need to rise to the top is smarts, willpower, and patience. Those who disagree are either stupid or lazy.”

Lusser von Steigen, Bagon, Male

Personality: Ambitious, perceptive, calculating, and smug. Not the type to make too many friends, but protective of those he does. Not above fighting dirty when the chips are down.

Motivation: To ascend to the top, both in the air and in life.

Biography: Lusser von Steigen was born to a declining family of bankers. His mother having died when he was young, it was up to his father to teach him the family trade. Lusser learned what he was taught exceedingly quickly, but couldn’t ignore his own unstable position in the world. He would sit and play solitaire by the window in his spare time, hoping that he would one day be a nobleman and could soar through the clouds.

He grew to be quite the rapscallion in his teenage years, getting into more and more fights as his father grew less and less able to keep a close eye on him in his old age and poor health. Growing exceedingly frustrated at his ability to progress in the world, Lusser sought to go outside and challenge others in one way or another, for some sense of fulfilment and experience. Eventually, his father realized that he wasn’t going to be around for much longer, and left him the last of his family’s savings before he passed away.

Unfortunately, it turned out that this money wasn’t quite as much as he needed. It was enough to keep him going for a little while, but it wasn’t nearly enough for the secure foundation he felt he needed. Finding that there were few openings for someone of his qualifications where he lived, he decided to put his other skills to use on the streets: He went from town to town, making money as one part showman, one part gambler, and one part swindler, picking up tidbits of information and gossip here and there as he went. Eventually, he heard tell of something that piqued his interest more than anything else; artifacts from the old world. He’d heard little of this “old world”, but determined that it must have had some value to have resulted in this new one. This, he decided as he parted another foolish Munchlax from his undeserved coin, was exactly the breakthrough he needed; this was the jackpot.

Skills/Abilities: Lusser excels at card games, chess, and just about any game he can use to make a quick buck. He also excels at cheating at these very same games, using various sleights of hand to both deceive and entertain. Having learned from experience that losers rarely leave peacefully, he’s picked up a good number of techniques using his teeth, claws, forehead, and dagger. He can read and write in common, but other than phrases necessary for transactions, he’s far from fluent in other languages.

Personal Effects: His coat and top hat, along with a small switchblade made to be stored in the sleeve. He also owns a deck or so of cards that he uses from time to time.

Alina, Kirlia, Female

Personality: Kind, easygoing, but meek and easily frightened.

Motivation: To find home again.

Biography: Alina spent the majority of her childhood in uneventful peace. Her family being Tailors in Sabi, they lived in a small town nearby the Rhine. The second child after her brother, she began helping out as soon as she was able. Her skills grew quickly at such a young age, enough that she was able to do some basic tasks alone by the time a sister came around.

Of course, it didn't last forever. One day, rumors began spreading of Moere marching onto Sabi lands, and what only felt like a day later. The people of her town woke up to a Platoon marching through their streets, or in some frightening cases to a soldier forcing their way into a home to ensure the people inside heard the Lieutenants speech. It was fairly straightforward, though the few townsfolk who attempted to flee or resist were publicly punished, rather harshly, for it.
Unfortunately, one of the demands was that all Pokemon of certain ages were to be taken away, with little explanation why. This of course, was not without it's own resistance, but like before it was all quickly and publicly silenced. As this happened Alina, being of the age, began to break down, clinging to her mother in tears and not even noticing as a soldier approached them. They didn't have need for force, but only gave her a few seconds for a goodbye before grabbing her arm and pulling her away.

Within a Day, Alina found herself in a camp a fair distance away from her home. The Pokemon that had been taken alongside her were separated, and she was thrown, alone, into a guarded tent filled with other Pokemon about her age for the night. She simply shrank back into a corner until morning, trying to avoid bawling her eyes out again to get some semblance of a rest, though a lack of food proved enough to prevent that anyway. As the sun rose, the entire tent was loudly shocked awake by a small group of guards and forced outside to a small courtyard. The yelling and sudden orders succeeding in breaking Alina's resolve further, she soon found herself in a daze listening to a man giving a commanding speech to the entire group. Explaining, several times over to reinforce the fact, that they had the honor of being a part of Moere's 'glorious' army, and would be receiving appropriate training to match throughout the coming weeks.

It wasn't long before said training began, harsh, with early mornings and late nights. Even through Alina's starvation the food they served tasted horrible and they never had a day of rest. Though she could manage when it came to the various chores and work they were forced into, when it came to actual combat training she could barely stop from panicking and freezing up, let alone actually practice anything. When it came time to spar against each other, Alina wouldn't even touch her opponent, usually ending the day with several new bruises. But even still, she continued, the punishments for those who tried to run keeping her subdued through it all.

Eventually her training concluded. Though still a very poor fighter and terrible under pressure, her few skills outside of combat kept her from the very bottom of the barrel assignments. In the end she was tossed around from team to team as her superiors decided. given to whatever squad was willing to take her or, occasionally, a superior that cared for his image wanting free tailoring. Still she bore through it all, holding on to the hope that she might someday find a safe way out and back home.

Skills/Abilities: Alina's greatest skill is of course her tailoring, able to repair damages, alter dimensions or even create basic designs from scratch. Though the last she may be rusty at, having only reasons to do the first two since she was taken from her family. Her time spent training did also have an affect on her, with basic First Aid and Armor/Equipment usage being a couple of the few things she managed to gain from it. She also knows what she's supposed to do in a fight, though her ability and willingness to is another matter entirely.

Personal Effects: A red and green pendant her mother had given her when she was a young child, and a small sewing kit she had been allowed to keep as her own.

Other: The pendant isn't actually Gardevoirite, it just looks similar.

Otto Nimbus, Ampharos, Male

Personality: Calm and intelligent. Also rather quiet and reserved.

Motivation: To re-gain his former status.

Biography: Before the Moere invasion, Otto belonged to a high-class family in Sabi. His parents were both very skilled magic users, and wanted Otto and his younger sister, Liana, to follow in their footsteps. They sent him to one of Sabi's top academies to study magic, and a few years later, they sent his sister, as well. For a while, his studies were his top priority.

Most of his magic involved manipulating electrical currents. It took years for him to gain full control of it, but once he did, he was able to use it rather effectively. As he continued to study at the academy, his skill with magic continued to improve. However, one day, his education was put to a halt.

Just when Otto was about to graduate, his parents demanded that both he and Liana come home. This was rather unexpected, considering they were the ones that made him go there in the first place. After they explained what was going on, though, he understood. The Moere army had launched an attack on Sabi. It would only be a matter of time before they broke through their defenses.

Thankfully, they were able to flee before Moere's military forces arrived. They knew they wouldn't be able to survive in the wildlands, so they hid in the woods near what used to be their home. It certainly took some getting used to. They were always covered in dirt, and they all smelled. They had very little food, and had to constantly keep moving in order to avoid Moere's soldiers. They've been hiding for a while now, and so far, it's been working out surprisingly well.

Skills/Abilities: Otto is able to read and write, and is also able to use magic. Most of his magical abilities revolve around electricity. For example, he can shoot bolts of lightning at his foes, or generate an electric pulse that hits everyone nearby. He's also capable of creating a barrier that can block or weaken magical attacks.

Personal Effects: A filthy, worn-out white cloak, and a small dagger.

Sounds good! But... he might be shocked to learn that Moeri conquests are easily integrated into the Empire. Magi are always welcome! Granted though, excessive loyalty to the former ruling class is... frowned upon.

"OWNWARDS YOU PRETENTIOUS FOOT-LICKERS"

Roth 'Zerko' Blyat, AGGRON, MALE

PERSONALITY: AS YOU CAN SEE, HE IS A PERFECTLY CALM INDIVIDUAL WHO IS CAPABLE OF EXPRESSING EMOTIONS IN A SOUND AND SAFE WAY. HE IS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND CAN TOLERATE ALL BUT HE MOST ANNOYING OF POCKET MONSTERS, WHILE ALSO SUPPORTING FRIENDS AND TEAMMATES. HE ALSO DOES NOT MIND LONG JOURNEYS WITH OTHERS... as long as I can exact his vengeance. Nothing strikes me harder than mentioning the monster who destroyed my life. It would my honour meeting him once more, showing him just how unnervingly quiet I can be as I snap his neck and twist his back into a funny little puzzle. A little history is also where silence is appreciated...

MOTIVATION: STEAM. WAIT, THERE... is a monster I know. If any of you bastards think you can enslave my tribe, slaughter my family and pillage my village, you will have a good time explaining to God why you are missing a head, a chest, and your legs. Retribution is best served with a hammering...

BIOGRAPHY: ROTH WAS NOT YOUR TYPICAL TRIBESMAN. HE CAME FROM A LAND SO FAR AWAY THAT IT TURNED HIS SKIN HARD AND MADE IT RIPPLE IN COLOURS, REMINDING HIM OF WHERE HE HAD TRULY COME FROM... and, he once knew what silence was. (I will talk in third-person for the sake of this.)

When the age of humanity collapsed, many Pokemon had banded tribes and villages to survive in this strange new land, obviously scared of the more... wild Pokemon. Unwittingly, a few of them ended up disbanding and becoming wild themselves. Roth's tribe did not. Instead, they clung onto the customs of both wild and civilised Pokemon, adapting to the new world. They missed their old homes, but at the same time had to accept that there was no home for them anymore. Many, MANY years had passed by, with a culture so rich that it made Roth's village the centre of attention, and a hub and cultural influence for all the tribes and villages nearby. His tribe was not very big, but they certainly had an important role keeping the peace in the strange new land, more wild and and distant than those recorded in the kingdom.

Centuries passed, and Roth was born. To him, the world was too loud and scary. When introduced to village customs, he acted like a foreigner, keeping to himself and staying quiet in his little tent. He was considerably small for an Aron, surprising the elders and his parents. He was subjected to teasing from his brothers, though he was quite calm and patient about the day where he would grow up and leave. But, otherwise, he was hoping for dreams and preferred to daydream.

Sure enough, he received his wish. It just came in the wrong form. One day, as Roth was sleeping, an unknown party of Pokemon and carts had raided his tribe. They pillaged and ransacked the innocent tribe, ramming into tents with their shields and swords while forcibly dragging small Pokemon into carts. Roth was captured himself, despite his parent's best attempts to hide him from the onslaught. When dawn came, the smoke had cleared and the fires had ceased, revealing a smoking circle of where the tribe used to be. Roth was taken away with many of his brothers and other young Pokemon he knew in the tribe, watching and crying as many of the elders and his parents were taken to the lake nearby with swords pointed at their backs. The end of the tribe sent shockwaves throughout the lands, causing chaos as tribes and villages isolated themselves to protect against 'the invasion.' To this day, their lands still remain quiet and relatively isolated.

Roth and many of his brothers were separated as the carts rattled, off long boats and onto dirt paths to the hills ahead. Everyday, he would whimper for his life, wanting to know what had happened as his cart traveled through forests and by deserts. Eventually, he reached a little known coastal town, where he was finally let out of the cart. He collapsed upon crawling off the ramp, feeling pain and sickly. Only he had actually lived through the journey, starving and near-death while his remaining friends and brothers had died from various causes. He witnessed the cart driver being growled at by a Pokemon he had never seen before, before blacking out once more.

Awakening, he didn't expect to find himself in such a warm place. It had four walls, walls of cobble and iron bars. Only he seemed to be the life in the room. He huddled against the corner where old wheat and cloth had been placed, praying it would end without even realising it at such a young age. This wish would not be granted; a snake-like Pokemon entered the room, almost ridiculous-looking yet important even to Roth. He was quite narcissistic, laughing at how easy it was to capture Roth from his tribe while proclaiming that he would never return to his land. Not that Roth could understand, the snake just wanted to laugh at his misery. Yet, Roth knew this was the Pokemon who had taken him from his tribe. He brooded in the corner, absorbing his words until sundown. While he did not understand them, he certainly memorised them - and the tone of his voice said it all to him.

The snake never returned to him after Roth fell asleep. He felt somewhat better in the morning, but found that he was desperate to find the Pokemon who spent all day and night tormenting him, even after capturing him. Roth felt as if this was all his fault, because he had angered the gods while also never living up to his family traditions. He cried to himself for days, not as if he didn't do that before while on the cart. Everyday, another Pokemon would keep an eye on him, telling him to be quiet while passing him scrapes of food and water. Roth didn't want to eat because he didn't want to suffer anymore, but at the same time he knew he would have to now avenge his tribe than to sit in a corner and be quiet.

One day, his crying was heard by a passing Metagross, who had heard the wailing coming from a house in the empty streets of the town. Taking pity on Roth, he entered the place he was being kept in, obviously being taken back by the Pokemon watching him through metal bars. Roth didn't know he was being marketed as a slave the whole time, but of course he was too deathly ill and small to be bought. Determined to stop Roth's suffering, he bought Roth off the slaveholder, taking him to his house and caring for him. The Metagross' own family had died from poor health, so couldn't bear to see Roth in such a state.

Years passed, and Roth had forgotten about his past. At that point, he thought he was just adopted by the Metagross, who had raised him as his own while teaching him carpentry. He often watched privileged Pokemon in rich clothing riding off to places in fancy carriages, something which the Metagross parent described as 'nothing useful; we're building tomorrow for those pricks.' Roth could only envy them, while being taught by the Metagross how to make furniture and sell them for an appropriate price.

Unknown to him, he actually ended up becoming extremely big. The Metagross' house was big as it was, but it started to look smaller as Roth grew from a simple Aron to a Lairon, and even an Aggron. This was simply because of the passage of time, not because of fighting; Roth was still considerably quiet, preferring to help his parent create furniture and live in peace.

Until one day, when a brother of his came knocking on his door. At first, the Metagross and Roth didn't recognise him. His brother had managed to escape slavery and become a banker, now willing to reunite with all of his former tribe before leaving again for the city-state's taxes. However, this ignited a hidden spirit that Roth had attempted to lock away within his heart. At first, it was the little things, with Roth muttering to himself and surprising the Metagross with his new and constant speech. Roth eventually couldn't even sit still anymore, breaking his own furniture he spent months creating. He was furious, remembering his past and even the the Pokemon who had tormented him within his cell. And, with that, he left the Metagross' house with nothing but his apron and a large hammer, usually reserved to craft large furniture that was even bigger than him.

He never regretted leaving his home, taking off to the wild while screaming and ranting with a voice that would've never fit him as a young Aron. With what he used to remember he now forgot, overcome with anger and madness. Living like this was hard, but he could live off the abandoned mines (with their hidden iron veins) and the bandits that would wonder his territory. He would plot everyday on how to find and kill the Pokemon that took him and destroyed his tribe, though for the time being he was quite content living in the wild.

SKILLS/ABILITIES: ROTH IS A CARPENTER. HE MAKES HOUSES AND FURNITURE FOR BIG POKEMON LIKE HIMSELF. A METAGROSS TOOK PITY ON HIM AND MADE HIM HIS APPRENTICE, TEACHING HIM HOW TO BUILD HOUSES WHILE ALSO BEING BRUTALLY EFFECTIVE WITH LARGE BLUNT OBJECTS. YEARS OF WATCHING FAMILY TRADITIONS ALSO TAUGHT HIM HOW TO FIGHT, BEING ABLE TO TACKLE AND FIGHT DESPITE HIS OVERWHELMING SIZE. SPEAKING OF WHICH, HE IS BIG FOR AN AGGRON, SO DO NOT TRY TO ANNOY HIM. HE IS ABLE OF THROWING ALMOST ANYTHING AS IF IT WAS A PEBBLE.

PERSONAL EFFECTS: A DAMNED HAMMER, AN APRON, AND HIS DAMN BARE HANDS.

OTHER: RED RUM!
