My fellow men and women. Throughout our history, our kind has been plagued by ferociously difficult to kill, big, obsurd, stupid somethings, most commonly called bosses. They come in many sizes and shapes, are usually overleveledand difficult if not impossible to face alone, and make us consume far more items than we would at any other point in our lives.
I say, the tyrany ends today. Take up arms! Take up armour! Take up your companions! For today I declare war! US vs. THEM, for neither party may live so long as the other truly survives! Now who thinks themselves capable of standing against our most ferocious enemies back to back, slewing one after another, until alas freedom from tyranny flows through our proud veins! Let us fight!
I present to you an arena, worthy for gods to battle! Here our mightiest foes will gather, offering you the opportunity to gain your freedom!
~~~!!ITS BOSS BATTLE TIME!!~~~
Basically, we kill bosses in sequence. Basic arena and rpg rules apply. Characters may interact when not fighting.
We will: -Submit bosses into the ic or by pm before placing thm in the character bin -respect people's ideas and encourage growth with possitive feedback -Encourage character developement and change -Be humble in victory or defeat
We wont: -Scrutinize or harase each other -Join a fight we wont be active enough to finish -take it easy when its our turn to be the boss -meta, gm, auto.... If it has a name then its likely a no -Be to absolutely profane that google adsense gets us (cuz we love mahz)
For those who dont understad "comunity chest" let me expplain. Everyone puts a little effort in and everybody gets to have a lot more fun.
Submit a boss- Post a character sheet in the ic here, or pm it to me or a co-gm. Wait for approval When your cs is complete, a gm or co-gm will aprove of it. If there is something that needs changing you, we may ask tou to fix that first. -If approved, transferre the cs to the character deposite VOTE ON BOSSES! We will vote for which boss to fight next! This is an open vote. Any body may join the fight. Fight! Repeat!
Name: Appearance: Power lv: Strengths: Weaknesses: Setting:
Name: Any identity. This is what we call the boss Appearance: If pics are available please post. A description will suffice in lack of Power Lv: scale 1-infinity and beyond, how op is this dude? Stregths: Where do they excell, and what are they best at? Weaknesses: Where do they fall short, and what can be used to defeat them? Original concepts dont need this section. (My reward for creativity which I encourage) Setting: Where can thisboss be fought? Arena may be used as a general stage.
This will develope further as needed. Lets have some fun and post some boss fights!
Power lv: 7150. Strengths: Unlimited control over the elements of Water, Wind, and Electricity, massive size and strength, and a nigh-impenetrable body. Weaknesses: HEAVILY reliant on his three pieces, Sanga of the Thunder, Kazejin of the Wind, and Suijin of the Water to stay in tact. Very, VERY slow. Setting: A Labyrinth.
With unlimited control over electricity, couldn't he just electrocute everyone to death instantly from inside their own bodies? That could be funny dark humor as he zaps us as we challenge him, but...
I guess we could slowly gauge power level based on the ones already posted, so around 7,000 would be near god tier in my opinion. We'd need more numbers to get a good feel of this but humans might be...10? I'll definitely wait to post a sheet until we know more.
@ImportantNobody Well, as mentioned in the CS, if you disconnect his three pieces, Sanga of the Thunder, Kazejin, and Suijin, you're basically set to win, and he's slow as all hell.
Also, about the God tier thing. For Yu-Gi-Oh! standards, Gate Guardian basically IS a God. XP
I figured I'd slap this here (I know you wanted it in the IC, but I feel like that's more appropriate for when we're actually in battle with the bosses.)
She can be expanded upon as the community sees fit.
Name
Kaelestra the Abyssal Maelstrom
Appearance
In this state Kaelestra is forty feet tall, with tentacles growing from her back that reach up to sixty feet in length and five feet around. She wields a javelin that appears to be made out of the bones and teeth of monsters from the sea.
Kaelestra is a hulking mass in this form. Losing all visages of humanity she may have once possessed, she is a monster beckoned from the depths of the ocean. Defeating her in this state is nigh impossible unless you're packing some serious weaponry or magic.
Power Lvl
Legendary approaching God-like. Kaelestra is still in her metamorphosis state, yet should she complete this transformation she will be a god by all rights. (In comparison to the Gate Guardian, she is power level 4000. After achieving god status, she will be power level 10,000)
Strengths
With the fury and vengeance of the sea, Kaelestra is adept at summoning forth tidal waves and hoards of abyssal creatures from her surroundings. Her many tentacles can lash out quickly, and are highly mobile. If they grip a person, they inflict tremendous amounts of mental anguish until the victim can be broken free. If not broken free before a certain amount of torment is inflicted on them, the victim may become insane or suffer long term effects. If these tentacles are cut, she can regenerate and duplicate them after a short wait, akin to a hydra's heads. Beneath her is a swirling vortex of water and darkness that may catch her foes unawares if they do not tread warily into her territory.
Weaknesses
She is immobile in her metamorphosis, therefore limiting her ability to dodge attacks. Additionally, if her tentacles are somehow held down, she cannot defend herself other than wielding her javelin. The hoards of monsters she summons from the deep are somewhat easily dealt with if paid attention to, and drop spines that can be used against her tentacles.
Setting
Kaelestra has begun her ascendance into God-hood in the middle of an ancient temple ruin that is flooded with water, leaving only pillars and the above floors of the ruin as dry land. She sits in front of a massive chunk of missing wall, which leaves her back open to the ocean and setting sun behind her. On her right and left are massive dilapidated stair cases, slick with slime. The upper floor has massive pillars, atleast ten feet around, that act as a railing and cover. Some of these are dilapidated and broken, though most remain intact as they support the floor above them, and so on. The stairs to reach the floors above this floor are broken.
In the water below, the pillars are at, or a bit above or below water-level, and there are also sections of wall that stand erect for some cover. If one were to look in the water below, it is atleast ten feet to the bottom, and all of it seems to be caught in the current that is swirling around Kaelestra, making it a very inhospitable environment. The ceiling above has a mural of a leviathan ravaging an entire ocean-side kingdom.
Boss Phases
She will go through boss phases, using one set of attacks to another that may be devastating if not reacted to appropriately. If wanted or required, I can list these events and how they may look when she activates them.
The Goal
Defeat Kaelestra before she can ascend to God-hood. This will happen roughly twenty-five to thirty boss posts after the start (basically when the sun is finished setting). If she ascends to God-hood, she can still be defeated, but will have become another boss entirely.
Also, just a suggestion (can be edited):
Power Levels
Highest to lowest 11,000 - 15,000 - Supreme High God. Basically impossible. Exercise in futility to try. Only attempt if you feel like dying a brutal death. (ex. Odin, C'thulu. In Yu Gi Oh sense, maybe Exodia?)
7,100 - 10,000 - God-like. Very hard to kill. Would take armies to defeat these impressive foes, yet some stalwart heroes with a good plan of action may be able to. (ex. Loki, Thor. Gate Guardian? XD)
4,000 - 7,000 - Legendary. Not impossible to take down, but definitely deadly. Not for the weak of heart. (Hard to give an example here. Most Adult Dragons in DnD would fall here. Sephiroth, perhaps?)
1,000 - 3,900 - Heroic. Basically your run of the mill boss. Strong, but if you're prepared you can take this foe down. Their strength may lay in their minions or their gimmicky strongholds having traps, etc. (most Liches with a Reliquary could fall here, unless they're insanely strong)
500 - 900 - Adventurer. Owlbears, young dragons, bandits, oh my! If you have your wits about you, this is a somewhat challenging fight but entirely winnable.
100 - 400 - Novice. Goblins, wolves, etc. Easy, fodder unless they're in numbers.
1 - 90 - Child. Any children, or babies of anything, would fall here.
I slightly edited the character sheet to include "notable personality traits."
Also, here is a boss of my own.
Name: Axe Appearance: All human, buff and covered in tatoos, Axe's biker gang is a force to be reckoned with. Axe has black hair, a shaggy beard and sunglasses. Power lv: Axe has a power level of 850. The other members of his gang have power levels lower than that. Strengths: Axe is very strong, a good shot, and a fantastic motorcyclist. Weaknesses: Axe never realizes if he is losing. He also is unfamiliar with fighting techniques that aren't modern. Magic, sword fighting, etc. Setting: A mall parking lot. There are about thirty cars and a large tractor trailer scattered around the parking lot. There are pedestrians on the edges of the parking lots, cowering near trees, and some hiding in the mall. Most of these people are only concerned for their safety, and will not help you fight Axe.
Axe's Tools: Axe has a knife, a motorcycle, and a machine gun, just like most of the other members of his gang. However, he also has a shotgun and grenades.
Axe's Gang: Lesser Gang Members: There are thirteen of these guys. Unlike the other gang members, they have pistols, but no machine guns. Power levels range from 350-525
Veteran Bikers: these guys have been at it for a while. There are six of these guys. Power levels range from 500-575. A slight upgrade from the pistols.
Other notable bikers:
Hot and Spicy: The two brothers, Hot and Spicy, are identical twins. They are equipped like the veteran bikers, but they have flamethrowers, gas masks, Molotov cocktails, fire protective gear, and they each have a button that causes fire to erupt from the sides of their bikes. They each have a power level of 700.
Collarbone: Collarbone has lots of piercings, a big knife, bad teeth, and an dual wields AK-47s as he drives his motorcycles. Has a power level of 650
Crazy Bill: Crazy Bill likes explosions. He has a bazooka. And other stuff, plus cool little buttons on his motorcycle. If something explodes, he probably has it. Fighting him will be a blast. Also, he suffers from mental insanity. Has a power level of 800.
I think we should do it here, in the IC. Do you have any idea what kind of character sheets we could use? What powers/weapons will be available to our characters who are battling the bosses?
@notdeadyet That's okay, I'll start working on something and post it here for other people to critique and add on to. It's a community project after all, it seems fitting. :]
EDIT:
I've been working on it, I just wanted to let you guys know. :D
