Alrighty got a quick post in. With my writing style, without other characters to bounce off of, my posts are fairly short. lol.

I was waiting to see if anyone else wanted to put something there, but in retrospect its a bit of a difficult area. I'll post something later today.

Sorry about not getting it up yesterday. The site was having problems. Also, its a bit fast, but I'm trying to get some momentum going again.

Nice post anyways, do you want my character to go investigate it since he is the gun slinger? Or would you have him go look into town for some parts. The weather will make it hard for him to shoot his guns if the powder gets wet

I will post probably on sunday I have this month and half of July exams. Reason I am a bit slow. ^^

He is rather tall at 6'5" and his eyes are a dark red.
Outside of combat he wears a black trench coat (usualy open) with a button-down maroon shirt and white pants. (He removes the coat during combat because he likes it and doesn't want it ruined.)

Weapon/Devil fruit: A sword in one hand and a revolver in the other. He fights with a mixed marial arts, using kicks, elbows, knees, cuts from the sword, blows from the heavy pistol, and shots from the pistol.

Personality: He has a easy-going personaliy, and he is hard working. Generaly speaking he has a good sence of humor, but he also has a mild temper. He can be more than a little arragant and stubborn, he defiatly doesn't take orders very well. He is a thrill-seeker and has a lust for adventure that is without equal. He loves to live life on the edge, which can resault in him diving head-first into ridiculously dangerous situations without a second thought and a smile on his face. In combat, he seems to go a little crazy and can often be heard laughing like a maniac.
Background: Born to a somewhat well-to-do family, Balthier was well educated from a young age. His life was normal until he was 13. On the eve of his birth day, his town was attacked by pirates and his family disapared, he got seperated from them in the chaos, and when he went back, he could find no sign of them. He was on the streets until he met a man who took him in. The man's name was Alzac, and he was a retierd Marine Vice-Admaral. Dispite this, Alzac was a wise and kindly man. As a Marine Vice-Admaral he was scoffed at for being mercyful. He didn't condone all pirates, just the criminal ones. Many mistook this for weakness, they would be dead wrong, he was a master swordsman and an exelant navigator; he taught Balthier how to fight and how to sail. Unfortunaltly, he died two years later from simple age. Balthier mourned him, but he understood that he wouldn't want him to wallow in grief. So, a month later, he gathered suplise and set out on the sea as a cabin boy on a mercant vessal. The captian of that ship was a cruel and uncaring man. Many long voyages were spent under the lash with little food and water to maximize cargo space. During a particurly bad storm, the captian drove them mercylessly, finaly the crew snapped and Baltier ended up leading a mutiny. It succeeded, and Balthier, dispite his young age, became captain of the Black Dragon Pirates. A very sucessful carrier as a pirate followed, during which he eventualy earned a bounty of 39,999,999 berries for piracy, sinking multiple Marine warships, sacking two towns, destroying a Marine base, burglarizing a Marine Captain's house, and shaving a Marine Captain's prize showdog. But then, after seven years of piracy, when he is 22, a rebillious subordant wanted the money and fame, so he lead a mutainy of his own, marroning Balthier on an island. He is found and rescued by this pirate crew.

Smaller crew, and start off with a scene that can have everyone jumping in instead of having to wait for a set up.
Maybe add a some kind of twist to it too like keep the devil fruit and abilities the characters could have, but maybe change the setting around.

nah i think the problem was just that with a large group you ended up relying to much on everyone's contributions but in a smaller group their is enough wiggle room that you can keep the rp going even if one of them disappears
