@MisterMonkeyFaceI would say Horus has always had a poor image of authority, (which resulted in his multiple rogue attempts.) As you said, he barely passed his Pysch test, and has never been promoted from private.

Some of the most infamous things Horus has ever done are:
  • Lead an unauthorized side assualt in Afghanistan, resulting in severe collateral damage, but the overall victory of the skirmish. He came out unpunished, but also unpraised.
  • Breaking away from protocol, and running blindly into a battle while positioned temporarily in Mexico. This rewarded Horus with 5 confirmed kills and multiple scars running along his back.
  • A confirmed, brutal knife kill. The hostile victim was unnoticeable after Horus's knifing, and after autopsy showed to have been stabbed a stunning 125 times.

Ah, my bad. I didn't think to check that. So... He wouldn't have been under Carter's command. Under a marine officer's, but they'd have probably met already. And as far as Horace's adventures go...

Carter would ignore the knife, already knowing Horace's level of aggression. Though the disobeying orders to attack, he'd tell him that if he planned anything like that, to talk to him. If it was tactically sound and safe for the men, it could be conducted.
