This RP takes place in a medieval fantasy world with a visual look that (at times) fringes on Victorian in dress. The beginning of the story is set in a township/city called Emmershine. The town itself rests over a large river and, therefore, acts as a large hub of commerce among the human kingdoms. By the start of this RP, Emmershine has experienced a several year-long era of peace that has rendered most of the populace content.

In the midst of a bitter winter, however, strange events take place, starting with the odd disappearances of working class men every night over the course of a week. Then, a blanket of dark magic falls over the city, thickening the air and turning the snowfall black. After this occurs, it is only a couple of days before dark clouds block out the light and a powerful witch named Leodora reveals herself and her plans to destroy all men before beginning to lay waste to the city using her magic.

Because of this event, our characters are forced to work together to survive and escape the city. Once thrust out into the forests and sweeping planes, they must figure out who Leodora is and why she is spreading destruction so they can stop her. The story itself starts in the middle of the week of disappearances, allowing a few moments of exposition before things get chaotic.

I will be playing a man named William Ember, who came to the town of Emmershine from over the thick mountain ranges to the north. Bearing strange tattoos over his ghostly pale skin, blades made of black steel, and speaking a strange language, the man was initially looked down on with scorn by the masses who saw him as nothing more than an ignorant barbarian. William quickly realized that it would be better to blend in and he put down his weapons and took up the tools of a smiting trade.

After five years, William was able to disappear into the crowd and become known as nothing more than the quiet smith from the strange land. Unfortunately, as he works his days away, he also has to contend with the memories of his home slipping away one by one and leaving him with nothing more than foggy images of the land he left behind. Soon, smithing and fighting will become all William knows.

However, with the disappearances reaching a height, William finds himself forced to look past his anvil and back out into the cobblestone streets of Emmershine. As the air begins to feel strange and thick with dark magic, William realizes that he must stop hiding away in his forge and must instead thrust himself in world once again.

While combating the evil forces of the witch Leodora, William hopes to figure out why his memories are slipping through his fingers like smoke.

What I am looking for in a partner:
- Someone who is preferably female.
- Someone who is an advanced poster (generally 2-3 paragraphs minimum).
- Someone who has ideas of their own.
- Someone who enjoys the medieval fantasy genre.
- Someone who is willing to play more than one character (if needed).

- Characters that compliment William (the strong, silent guardian type) would be perfect to kick off this roleplay.
