What about Psy-Warp guiding projectile attacks?

She'd need to learn an ability giving her the power to do something like that first. The co-op combo system will be based off of triggering your special skills at the right times to support each other and unless you can think of a way to utilise what you have already (such as forming a barrier behind an enemy to act as a 'firebreak', increasing the effect of Flare's Fireball attacks) you'd need to come up with a new trait or ability to aid your companions.

Having said that, I've no problem with Psy-Warp learning a Guidance type ability which she could use as part of a combo with another player, and it would certainly suit her skill set to have something like that available.

When you say 'attacked by the others', do you mean in a similar way to Void's Void Burst ability, where you'd absorb the damage and then redirect it into other effects, or would it be more a case of gathering Energy to help power your other abilities?

It'd be a marker for an enemy, and every time that enemy took damage, it would increase the combo. 0.5 for standard actions, 1.0 for skills. Or something to that effect, anyway.

It works out better than expected then because I was thinking up something like that for the next level. Also the firebreak idea is something I might have to consider as a tactic.

I wouldn't be entirely comfortable with an ability solely designed to increase XP rewards without causing damage itself, since it'd be too open for exploitation. If you had something like:

Unstable Vortex: Energy Cost 6;
Void shifts the molecules in the air around a target charging it with his power and increasing the damage taken by them. One enemy target becomes Destabilised, receiving 20% more damage from every source until the end of their next turn.

Since this ability would trigger every time one of the others attacked the same target you'd end up gaining extra co-op combos as long as they were using abilities to damage the target. For example, Void triggers Unstable Vortex at the beginning of the turn, Bumblebee then uses Sting Like A Bee on the same target gaining a x2 combo multiplier triggering Destabilised to take it to x3, Flare uses Heat Drain pushing the multiplier to x4, Destabilised takes it to x5 and Sigma uses Sonic Pulse taking it to x6 and so on.

One problem I can see is if there's more than one chain going on at the same time. What I mean by that is if Heretic uses Minor Mutation to boost the party's Attack then any skill used after that would grant both him and the other player a x2 XP bonus, but if Psy-Warp used Telekinetic Barrier and Void then used Void Burst on the same turn then that would also be a chain.

The simple solution is to just say that if a player triggers a skill which would allow them to link with more than one chain they only benefit from whichever is the greater multiplier, but would still count as another multiplier level for both chains.

Another problem would be skills which allow the same character to use more than one ability on the same turn, such as Heretic's Unconfined Rage and Deimos's Martial Prowess.

My answer to that would be that it's the number of cooperating characters which is counted as part of the chain, not the number of skills, and so in both cases they'd still only count as a single step on the multiplier ladder even if they managed to it a target twice. However they could be classed as part of two different chains if they used their skills to target different enemies on the same turn.

I think I'll just stick with the Burst/Bleed branches I have in mind then. Seems this whole concept can get way to complex, way to fast.

You're going to help me out there, which passive ability do you mean? Mana Addict, Gathering Power, Flamethrower, Ignite, Presence of Mind..?

I'd be happy for you to have a trait which would allow you to utilise your Void Energy skillset as a passive boost somehow, but would you just be wanting something like a Weaponized or Armed effect (summoning a weapon made of void energy to boost your attacks) or something a little more complicated?

By the way, unless you post IC soon both you and @Behemoth542 are going to miss the deadline for this round.

Based of the trait description he could have something more like every 2 turns he gains the effect Void-Touched causing his next ability to have an additional effect.

I'd be happy to make it an effect which triggered each time you used one of your powers, as long as it dissipated after two turns, but having it almost constantly active would be a little too much.

Sooner than you think. If she has a tardis, it could have already happened.

With the passive I'm speaking of, it would say...Make his Force Barrier also increase the affected characters attack.
