I don't think many here would use the shop, Sho. They seem fixed on making things up as they go. I'd use it, but then it'd be just two who use it.

I'm aware. I need a solution to this, but I've been going largely off of my own assumptions.

I'd like to pose a question to do you guys, what would make/entice/persuade you to use the shop if at all?

I don't much use the shop either, if we are talking about the same shop. Credits are only gained by contests, which I am not really that good at, and missions, which take a hell of a long time to complete for the payoff.

Having items that where good. Like, dust cartriages that changed how a weapon worked, temporarily. Or something like that.

Mmmm personally I prefer not to worry about things like money in an rpg like this. Majority of the characters are students that aren't even adults yet too, if they have money, most of them get it from their parents anyway, or some sort of trust fund, and that would logically cover the tuition and whatever school supplies they need.

And since credits are for upgrading your characters weapons/abilities, why would we need an item shop that uses lien? I don't really see the appeal of it, I'd probably never use it. All the items in the item shop seem to be things you could either have just bought with credits or acquired them IC without the use of a system at all.

Honestly it feels like it will make things more complicated and a hassle when it doesn't need to be.

I suppose it's more widely accepted to just completely take Lien away from mission rewards, then.

I understand that billioncats, but I am asking hypothetically. I'm trying to gather information. While getting rid of lien may be easier, I think it's also a waste.

Character development. How much does Gren spend on getting food for his team? How much does it cost to maintain his equipment and hobbies? How does he get all these neat gadgets and thingamajigs? How much does he send back to his folks so they could live comfortably? As entertaining as living on a sitcom budget is, Lien has other uses as well. As Kabel mentioned, not all of do the contests nor do missions occur fast enough to give us a steady stream of credits. I'd prefer to use Lien to purchase minor or secondary equipment. Grenades, dust, medical equipment, sentimental nicknacks. Otherwise I'd take liberties to make sure Gren is armed with not just the God Eater, but other misc equipment like various tactical equipment like grappling hooks, explosives, and additional augments to his cybernetics. Sure I could pay credits for these, but some of them are rather minor, and I'd rather not spend a whole credit for essentially a zoom in function and perishable goods.

To me the issue with credits is that they're way too expensive for moderate purchases. It'll be like having to spend $100 every time you want to buy a pocket knife or a crowbar.

Hm okay. The Dust Capsules are very similar to what Kaben mentioned (they're in the store right now if you want to check @KabenSaal), so I'll consider making more things similar to that.

Character development is an interesting reason I'll think of a little more now I guess. The thing is though, not everyone will need ammunition and such, so I'm really going to have to think hard on this bit.
