Appearance:

Costumed

((He has a hood that covers his head and goggles to help him see better as he runs. Think KId Flash's goggles.))

Name:Cole Tyler
Alias: The Streak
Age:22
Gender:Male
Power(s): Superspeed
Weaknesses: It is hard to run super fast when hungry. His metabolism is huge. He requires massive amounts of food to keep running. Oddly he never gains weight. Also sticky things and slippery things as well.
Equipment:His goggles and a strange emerald colored liquid that does something but he never says what. ((If you must know Tail PM me. It's nothing God moddy I promise.)) The liquid helps control his powers.

Personality: He is a bit of a joker. Always making jokes at the wrong times. However he does have a rather serious side to. Well at least he thinks he is a joker. See after the accident maybe his personality changed. He does not know.
History:Well that is the problem now isn't it. Cole woke up in the middle of a burned up laboratory. How he got there and why he was there are still beyond him.He has lost most of his memories. HE only knows his name is Cole because a picture in his pocket said so. It showed him and a woman smiling about something. Who is she? How did he know her? All is lost to him. All he knows is that he can run fast which he guessed was from the accident. Other than that he knows nothing. He hopes that someone use to know him before the accident.
((Less is more I find with History. I will flush more out as we go.))

First off, sorry for the confusion over my character design. I've generally seen telepathy used as a slight umbrella term, with the two major subsets being telepathic communication and telepathic manipulation, and if a telepath only has access to a certain variety of telepathy, then their telepathy would generally be listed as whatever title best illustrates the subset they can use (so I'll probably end up changing the title in my CS to "telepathic communication").

Secondly, I would like to clarify that I had never intended to have anything more in-depth than basic memory manipulation (e.g. getting someone to forget the last five minutes), since any form of mind control could actually be difficult to not godmode with.

Regardless, in making the second character sheet, I began to prefer the new version of the Geist rather than the original concept, so I have no intention of trying to go back to the original; I just wanted to clarify my original intent. :-)

@Avanhelsing: Your character is accepted. :D

@Dethran: I'll accept the second one. :3

@All: I seriously can't believe I forgot this, but I went ahead and added a limits section to the character skeleton. To those who have been accepted, please add it in. :) That way we know what to expect from your character's powers in a little more detail.

Arright, bear with me here. I'll put the history first for reasons that should become clear and also indulged in a built of worldbuilding.

History:
One of the first supers to appear was Khemisi Idir, 'The Mendellian Man', a super-scientist who could interact with the genome of an organism and manipulate it to an extraordinary degree. As soon as he discovered his powers, he used them to help people. He was far from a superhero - since his only real way of dealing with villains would have been to give them unpleasant medical conditions - but with his abilities he pushed medical science forwards by decades over the course of only three years, discovering cures and preventatives for thousands of diseases and conditions. He was hailed worldwide in a time when other superbeings were reviled and feared.

One day, he just vanished.

Rumours abounded about what had happened to him. He'd fled, tired of his work or scared for his life. He'd been abducted or killed by a supervillain or even a jealous superhero. The pharmaceutical companies had done away with him so that they would have no competition. The government had had him assassinated, a religious fanatic had murdered him, etcetera, etcetera.
The truth was far from any of these. Idir retired in secret to a Pacific island getaway and changed his motives somewhat. Instead of being a tireless researcher and medical genius, he became rather more amoral and interested in testing in his abilities. In short, he ceased being a new William Osler, and became a figure akin to Dr. Moreau. He made mad, twisted beasts, chimeric animals and beautiful shining beings just to see if he could. Insects the size of airbuses, seaslugs moulded into the shape of monkeys, elephants the size of microbes, termites that created concrete from nothing that built laboratories. And then, The Mendellian Man went one step further. He created sapient life. He created his own superbeings.

Most of these died in his lab, failures or forgotten experiments. Some survived and stayed servile to him, his personal servants and guards. Others tried to escape. To date, only one managed that. That one is Reptile. Originally meant as some kind of super-hunting dog, to track down and dispose of dangerous experiments or enemies, Reptile fled the island at three years old, before finishing full training - something which has caused him numerous problems.

He remembers only flinging himself into the sea and washing up on the shore of [a city]. Driven by a conflicting fear of humans and a basal moral code, he spent the next fourteen years as a terrifying urban legend, a great beast that preyed upon criminals and answered the prayers of victims, developing his abilities and skills along the way. He slowly made friends with the homeless and the disenfranchised, and it was through them that he received the letter from Dr. Raul.

Name: Subject 2342
Alias: Reptile
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Power(s):
Super muscles - allowing for great strength, good jumping, fairly high speed and wall-crawling, as long as the wall's strong enough
Healing factor - can regrow lost limbs over the course of a couple of days, can survive most things that don't involve decapitation or heart destruction.
Chameleonic skin - not perfect, but capable of hiding him from cursory glances
Great sense of smell

Limits/Weaknesses:
Chameleonic skin isn't very good against people paying attention to their surroundings
Healing factor nullified by fire and other forms of cauterisation
Certain psychological triggers installed in him whilst he was in the laboratory induce temporary catatonia, e.g. the face of Khemisi Idir.
Poor literacy.
Does not do well in the cold.
Most of his personality traits.

Equipment: Aside from his claws and teeth, nothing. Has a few bullets in him and makes use of the environment.

Personality:
Paranoid, sociopathic and jumpy, Reptile is far closer to an extremely intelligent attack dog than any human personality. He has extreme difficulty empathising or even sympathising - he is capable of understanding when people are feeling certain emotions, but not the why. He mostly shuns unnecessary contact, and it takes time for him to warm up to people, especially those who potentially pose a threat to him. Reptile is always on high alert for something to attack him or go wrong near him, and will often overreact to harmless gestures that come across as threatening to him.

He is barely literate and has extreme difficulty reading and writing, but his paranoia prevents him from either getting someone to read for him or from teaching him.
He prefers to sleep in places that are secure or difficult to reach with multiple escape routes, such as sewers and air vents. He is surprisingly intelligent and processes information quickly, but most often uses this ability to make plans to kill those nearby in case he needs to, re-evaluating these plans as soon as he learns new information. His memory is also good enough to keep these plans relatively to hand, though his memory is by no means eidetic.

Reptile fights crime not to help the people who have been hurt, but because, in his understanding, hurting people without necessity is punishable. The basic moral code gifted to him by the Mendellian Man is his sole motivation - asides from basic needs such as food or self-preservation. It also makes him surprisingly altruistic, especially in regards to putting himself in harm's way or using himself as a giant reptilian meatshield in order to help others. Sounds such as crying, screaming, etcetera, cause him significant distress and he usually tries his best to put an end to it by helping the person out. Or running away. Whichever's easier.

Appearance:

Reptile is a chimeric creature, a fusion of numerous lizard and archosaurian traits, though his appearance is probably closest to the family Varanidae with superficial features from iguanids. He measures 4.5 metres long, 2.5 of that being tail. He is normally a dark browny green, but his skin colour can go across the entire spectrum. His claws and teeth are damn sharp. He normally walks on both legs at a 55° relative to the ground, using his tail as a counterbalance. His knowledge of english is exceptional.

Other:
His years hunting from the shadows have made him surprisingly stealthy for a four and a half metre lizard.

I'm not all that comfortable with that level of worldbuilding. That involves world-shaping events, not just changing minor details. Which means that my real problem is with the Red Sleep and the Plaguemother. Apart from that, I don't really find the backstory to be a problem. In fact, Khemisi Idir might make a good plot element later. So, if you could remove or alter the part about the Red Sleep and Plaguemother, it'll be fine. :3

EDIT: It also might be better for group interaction if he appears a little more human.

Plaguemother and Red Sleep gone.

Eh, I sort of have this 'Frankenstein's Monster' angle in mind that I want to play around with for his interaction with other characters - he can still speak english just fine, it's just literacy he has a problem with. Do you want a list of the psychological triggers, by the way?

I... Honestly don't understand how he's supposed to be a superhero, nor how he's supposed to get along with the rest of the team. Especially because of:

I didn't notice the human flesh bit. Yeah, that would be a problem on a team of superheroes. And it's not like you couldn't do the Frankenstein thing with a character that looked more human. Frankenstein's monster was mostly humanoid after all. I'm not trying to curb your creativity, but there would realistically be problems with a 4.5 metre lizard that doesn't mind eating human flesh being on the team. That's why a humanoid with lizard features would probably work better here.

EDIT: I have to leave for rifle practice, so we'll finish discussing this when I get back.

I'll cut the human flesh thing - it was more of something to play up the alienness of the character. I think I'll edit the character sheet a bit more, make him more altruistic, possibly to a dangerous degree and give him a subconscious yearning for relative normality.

1. In the most literal sense of the word, in that he performs acts that can be deemed heroic and possesses abilities that can be judged as 'super'.
2. With difficulty and character development on his part.

As for the lizardlike-humanoid part, I'll admit this is an old character of mine who I've always seen as very bestial. He does normally stand on two legs in a hunched manner rather than moving on four legs, will put that into the description.

Appearance: (Both normal and costumed. Please also provide a written description of both too) Derek's costume is a slightly baggy jumpsuit with armour on the outside and inside of it. Tubes filled with green, glowing liquids litter the suit and course through the gloves that he wears. Mostly everything on the suit is reinforced with metals, the tubes being the most reinforced.Name: Dr. Derek 'Del' OsirisAlias: IcarusAge: 27Gender: MalePower(s): Super intelligenceLimits/Weaknesses: -He's essentially a human inside a suit. Take away the suit and the gloves and he's just a really smart guy. -His depression can make him reckless at times, to the point where he'll risk his life without rational reason.-While he can charge his energy blasts, charging them too much can overheat them and possibly destroy them.Equipment: laser shooting, strength enhancing gloves. His suit is essentially a robot in itself and can communicate with his computer at home. He also carries two small hunting knives in his boots just in case.Personality: Del isn't the type of man to joke. He is constantly depressed by the world round him but rarely shows it. He tries to act at least neutral around other people. He doesn't act the same to his enemies. His knowledge of the human body and condition enables him to inflict as much damage as possible without killing his enemy. He is not someone to mess with if you're a normal guy. He cares for friends greatly, seeing them as the only people that can bring him happiness, he'd do anything to protect his close friends.History: Del was born to a single mother living in a ghetto in New Orleans. His life was generally the same as everyone else in his neighbourhoods. He wanted to grow up, become a sports star or singer/rapper and never have to do any homework. It was not until he entered S5(whatever the American equivalent to that is) that his power kicked in. He had basically got into S5 out of luck and was flunking everything he took. His power kicked in at midnight as he was sleeping. His brain seemed to surge with electrons that jolted him awake and caused him to start pondering life and general subjects of concern. Soon the morning had came and Del was now a depressive. He began excelling at school even to the point where he could leave classes early to take other classes. In his spare time he wandered a junkyard near his house while collecting scrap for inventions. The first invention he made was an RC helicopter he made from everything but RC parts. The second was a lot bigger. The first prototype of the gloves he would become renowned for. They were a lot more basic than the seventh gen ones he wears now, instead of energy blasts these were nothing more than a bullet firing glove really. After leaving school he earned enough money selling his small inventions to go to University. He surpassed even the professors and his intellect grew each day. He majored in mechanical engineering but then advanced to Doctoring school to become a doctor. His combination of intellect, craftsmanship and business skills helped him become rich. He started a small business that eventually sprouted and became one of the biggest businesses to be known. With Del managing behind the scenes and making new products. He became known for his fair pay and charitable events. Eventually the business fractured into smaller fractions including; Shipping, Medical, Electronics, Foods and even weaponry. Most of the weaponry went to the New Orleans police force though. Soon, Osiris industries was as big as Disney and life was good. This was the point when Del decided to become a hero. First he joined the military, much to the disagreement of his board of directors and generally everyone in the business. Del done this for two reasons, the primary being the training and experience and the secondary being the image. He left the military after being ambushed in a desert and being held captive for two weeks. The weeks went by like years. Del and his troop were tortured and starved to near death. Of course, Osiris industries couldn't let Del die. They supplied the finest goods and weaponry to the military and soon Del and his troop were returned to safety. Del returned to the normal world both physically and mentally scarred. He then went on a worldwide exploration, finding and learning from as many combat teachers as he could and donating a wealthy amount to the third world countries he had visited. After his exploration he picked up his mask and gloves. The mask was a plain black, steel mask that was soon t be less than plain. His gloves were now fifth generation, an upgrade he had made over his years. They were closer than ever to energy blasts now, more like mini railguns on his hands. His first night of heroing went well, he captured a few muggers, stopped a few rapists and even helped an old lady cross the street. Things went well for the first month or two, but on the third month things went bad. A mafia didn't like what Del was doing and set up an ambush for him. They captured him with only one casualty and set him up for torture. What they didn't expect was for the computer inside Del's suit to lock his mask and gloves into place. That didn't stop the mafia from giving him a beating from outside the mask though, soon its clean, steel was now scarred and dented. Del managed to escape by wearing the rope they had tied him in so much that he snapped out of it and took out the Mafia members watching him without the use of his gloves. He soon took down the mafia group and sent their members to prison. Things went like this for years on end, that is until he got sent an invitation.Other:

I mean, I don't think it's a bad idea aside from a couple of things that have been pointed out, but... Maybe it's just me, but I think he'd work better as a tragic villain rather than as a superhero. But again, might just be how I see it. I don't see any problems with having a crocodile-man on a superteam, I've seen far weirder things after all, he just seems a bit too... Feral seems the best word, I guess.

Well, a feral character can always make for an interesting anti-hero, and would allow for some pretty spectacular character development, if that's the direction SIngemeister ends up wanting to take him.

Well, the main concept I used for his personality is 'What if a guard dog or an abused dog was made into a superhero?', and I'm trying to get that better across in the current revision. Something who's outwardly aggressive and snappy, that flinches at every loud noise or sudden movement but is still ultimately fairly selfless.

I do get where you're coming from, and this isn't the weirdest concept I've used either. That would probably have to go to a mind-reading reality-bending Whitetip Reef Shark superhero named John.

I dunno, I was cool with that. It's no weirder than actual gorillas being parts of superteams, and I've seen that before so yeah. XD

Hmmm... So I guess he'd be kind of like a reptilian, mode-locked Hulk, if that makes sense? Only a bit more jumpy and a bit less perpetually angry. XD It does seem like a pretty cool concept, at the very least. I hope you can get things to work out with Tali, honestly.

...Speaking of getting things to work out, I really need to finish my signup sometime soon. ^^; Hopefully shouldn't be too difficult, since I know basically what I want for it.
