Everyone has heard a teacher or parent or some other authority figure mention that everyone has a unique talent. Typical self-esteem boosting pep talk, right? After all, you are... well, were an average individual. Maybe you had some talent in art or sports or something, but nothing that would bring national attention or anything like that. But, about two years ago, right at the end of junior year, something… changed. That’s the only way you can explain it. All of a sudden you were able to do things that shouldn’t be possible, things that defy the laws of physics as we know them. At first, you were thrilled. Who wouldn’t love to have a superpower of some kind? But then the doubt set in. What would your friends and family think if they knew that you were some kind of comic book character? Worse still, what would happen if someone important found it? Surely the government wouldn’t let the potential of a superpowered army go to waste, at least not if what you had heard and/or read about before was to be believed. No, it needed to be a secret.
So, you finished out your senior year. There were probably a couple of close calls, but nothing you weren’t able to dismiss with a couple of well-spoken lies. Of course, it sucked lying to your friends and family, but the secret needed to be kept secret. It was far too dangerous to throw things like that out into the public. Regardless, you had done all of the usual things during your senior year: completing graduation requirements, taking exams, applying to colleges, etc. And by the time graduation rolled around, you had been accepted into Stonewald University, one of your top choices. Once you were away from the place where you had probably spent most of your life, you figured that it would be pretty smooth sailing. New friends could be made that would be used to eccentricities that keeping a secret caused oneself to have, or you could avoid people altogether and keep the secret safe that way. Either way, it is, looking pretty good so far. Who knows, maybe you’ll even be able to get a job or join a sport. It’s a new life, so you might as well make the best of the four years before you have to do it again, right?

As you may be able to tell, this roleplay will focus on interactions between characters all trying to keep their powers a secret for as long as possible rather than stopping an intergalactic threat or some such. :3 All of our characters will have some sort of superpower and coincidentally end up attending the same university after high school, though individuals may or may not have attended the same high school. Regardless, no one but your character is aware of their abilities at the beginning of the roleplay. Unfortunately, there are some basic rules that I feel should be laid out, though I don't think that they'll come up all that often. ;)
Rules
1. No Godmodding, Powerplaying, or Metagaming.
2. Be courteous to one another.
3. Any and all problems should be discussed with me, preferably through pm's.
4. Keep it PG-13. Romance and violence is fine, just don't go too far.
5. Be sure to read each others' posts so that you don't miss something.
6. If you are inactive for a week without giving prior notice, your character will be marked as inactive. From then, you have a week to post in any of the threads or pm me until the character is removed from the roleplay and you will have to reapply if you want to continue.
