Eventually the world collapse on you. Mentally you lost all hope and have no escape. The loved ones or by your own hand send you for help. They tell you they care and that they want you normal. They send you to the Olmsted Complex. A sanitarium for the over worked and clinically depressed. The admit you and the conditions are nice they take care to give you the sets of clothes and linens you will need in your stay. The white walls and happy faces painted on the walls seem more day care then a serious center. You wave your family good bye and the attendants give you a shot for vitamin booster. You pass out.

Apparently calling your boss a dick and then punching him out followed by a suicide attempt was too much for her to get away with. She had worked hard to keep her emotions in check. She could not help it when he blamed her for something she was not even part of. All the emotions just came out on him. To avoid charges she had been given the option to come here until she was better. She knew she needed help so she might as well get it here. She checked in and took the clothing. All she had to do was talk to and do what the doctors wanted. It could not be that hard. She closed her eyes and kept her breath as steady as possible when she was the needle. She was scared of them but it was just a vitamin shot. It could not hurt her. She felt the prick and was about to open her eyes when she passed out.

You awaken in a padded room and a strait jacket. The dim light above you was enough to show you, this was not the room you were shown. The air was cold like a cellar and your slippers were gone as well as your pants. The door opened an Asian gentlemen came into the room with two big former NFL line men. "Hello I'm Doctor Yin you are, (checking his chart) Ms. Becky Donner. Its nice to meet you. It says you suffer from personality disorder. You think you are this Alice Ross. Tell me why you think this."

As she felt herself wake up she moved to stretch, thinking she was at home. She found the she was restricted and then she quickly remembered that she had checked herself in to get some help. She quickly looked around and found that she was not in the place that they showed her. This was not what was supposed to happen. She sits up and finds that she no longer has any pants on. She closes her eyes doing her best to calm herself down. This was wrong she wanted to leave. It was cold and there was not enough clothing on her. When the door opened she looked up and saw the three men enter. Before she could say that this was not what she signed up for he started to talk. She was not this person he was talking about. She knew very well who she was. "I don't know who this Becky Donner is and that is not what I am here for." she said. "You must have the wrong chart."

"No I'm afraid not room 23, Female, age 25. Taken into custody yesterday by police after soliciting prostitution. See it even has your picture. I know a lot of this seems new to you Becky but the more you hear it and with the proper medications you will start to see yourself as Becky. We brought you breakfast Becky." The two men over power you as Doctor Yin Preps a syringe with a clear liquid. "When you are more calm you can have a solid lunch." The injection stings and you feel light headed, almost drunk. The three men leave. "Get some rest Becky I look forward to our first session."

What felt like a few minutes pass and a female voice behind the door asks if you would like help to the cafeteria. Seeing you unable to stand without the use of a wall she helps you to the cafeteria via wheel chair. The path you take is in a cellar like environment and you take an elevator to the first floor. You were on sub level three apparently you need a key to raise the elevator from this floor. There are seven sub floors. It is noon by the clock imbedded in the wall above the cafeteria door. Here there are multiple patients most of them heavily medicated like you. The few other are in a vegetative state facing the windows. The windows are all covered with metal mesh and the walls are all white. The nurse leaves you to your own ends as she gets a small paper cup with three pills for you. "Here Becky now be a good young lady and take the pills they need to be taken with food."

Alice looked at him knowing it was a lie. She was not this Becky person and there was no way that he was going to let him tell her otherwise. She knew who she was and she was not the person he said she was. She would never sell her body for money. When she saw the needle she went still. Even if she wanted to struggle there was no way that she could win against the two men. She kept looking at him as he left the room. She stared at the door wanting nothing more to leave, but she had no real strength to move.

Seeing where she was only made her feel more hopeless. She was underground. It explained why it was so cold here. Even if she manged to escape from the room it was hopeless. She would never leave this floor. She was going to have to wait to see if there was another way for her to get out of this hell. Still seeing the people in the cafeteria worried her more. With no real strength she just looked at the clock. Even when the nurse came back with the pills she ignored her. If she was not going to call her by her real name she was not going to respond to them.

Around the room were patients and the light streamed through the windows covered in metal wire. There were no staff walking around. They stayed on the other side of the pharmaceutical walls. You were brought a tray of food, and a juice. The white walls and child like drawings of the sun and rainbows did little to improve your attitude. There was a young girl in a wheel chair about sixteen years old, her head tilted to the left and looking down. A nurse came and got her, "Come on Mary Ann its time for a session." She is unresponsive and wheeled out of the room.

Looking around there are more women then men in the room all various ages. A total of 17 people in all. The room was silent. Not one of the patients moved on there own. It was depressing to see living people being carted in and out of this room like furniture. They were healthy looking just atrophied from inactivity. No bruising, a few needle marks and a blank stair was all they had to offer the outside world. A male nurse came and got you with your food tray. "You have to eat. This is just temporary to make sure your not violent you will be moved up after your first evaluation. If you don't eat they stick you on bagged food. It taste better but not as filling." He wore no name tag. Just the hospital logo was on the left pocket of his white coat.

Alice kept on looking at the clock. While she knew that there were other people there, she wished that she could get up and run, but not only did she not have the strength to get up from her spot, she had no where to go. She was stuck here for now. She sighed not wanting to think about anything right now. She wanted nothing more than to go home and lay down in her bed. She sighed again. Instead she started to think about a couple novels that she recently read. She attention was brought back to the room when she heard someone talk to her.

She looked at the man as he told her to eat. "Shouldn't you wait to see if I do something violent before doing this to me," she said quietly. "If I could I would be more than willing to eat." She then looked away.

"No, its standard procedure everyone goes through. If you were violent it would of happened by now the rational use words like you did right then. Although if it would make you feel better I could give you a shot so you sleep until tomorrow." He smiles and after scanning the room to ensure the doors were locked he loosens your jacket. You were about to lift it over your head but you only had a sports bra on from the feel of things. "Now if you need anything else I'll be right over there." He points to the food cage where the other orderlies were. The food was semi warm and the eggs were made from dehydrated powder. The drugs helped keep you calm.

You thought for a second one of the coma pateints looked at you but when you turned your head to focus on her, she had a blank stare and was looking through you. Her hair was brown and it was sheered off leaving a quarter inch of stubble. She wore a hospital gown and drool slid down her chin from her open mouth. The odd thing was she didn't look atrophied at all. She was pale from lack of sun but the rest of her almost looked tone. There was a tag around her wrist too far to read.
