On the cinematic big screens all over the world, both Marvel and DC are succeeding in sharing superhero multiverses with it's audiences. For generations, comic books have done the same. So I've been thinking, could the same be done in the form of play-by-post roleplaying?
I sincerely hope that the answer is yes. I realize it's an ambitious project - one would most definitely need several GMs working closely together. However, I've given it some thought and there is a lot of potential there. Let's say, for example, that there are three threads, all operating simultaneously and each reserved for a limited location (such as Metropolis City and Gotham City in the DC universe). The roleplay is split into short story arcs, and any one character is signed up for a single location for each arc. In this way, you get linear story development while still offering new, exciting settings to the roleplayers for every new arc.
This idea is certainly not developed enough yet, but I'm excited at the idea. Anyone else in the same corner as me on this?
