So I think having a basic idea of how magic work would be the best to start out with if anybody wants to use magic. And how's it view by the culture .

I think magic should be only be able to used if you come from a mage's bloodline.

That be interesting, even though you need magic in your blood you don't need much to be able to use magic the more Magic in it the stronger it is. And maybe like in Avatar certain physical features should point out what kind of magic they are more inclined to. Like blond hair for light magic or green eyes for wind magic

Eh maybe not that far. If a parent is a Wind Mage then his kid is likely to become one. If he's a Thunder Mage then his kid would most likely master that over let's say Fire Magic.

We can also say that mages need their tomes/staves to channel their magic energy and all.

Hm. What if magic in the world is fearfully respected? Like many people might be happy to have a Mage on their side but others might be extremely wary.

Yeah the appearance was only an idea.
But that could be a nice contrast compared to the original series.

Maybe the only fields of magic not feared is Healing and Light? Oh should they be related to a god or nah?

Yeah I was gonna say Healing and Light are most respected cause they are more useful. Elemental Magics are "eh" and we can say Dark Magic is feared.

And if we're gonna add gods to the land, we shouldn't make the characters related to any of them. That would make certain charries too special or unique over others. How many gods should there be? What should they be gods of?

Yeah being related to gods would be to OP and Mary-sueish.
I would say the number of gods should be related to the basic classes which they could in universe influenced. Which would give us an even 20 gods and goddesses.

How about a god for each weapon types? (minus Daggers which would be under swords) so that would leave us with 10 which should be more reasonable? Or is that still too much?

I was thinking maybe the people should just call the gods "gods" just to make it simple. The gods should be beings who created the world and symbolize things such as war, wisdom, or love. ^^

Yeah that should be good, the games never had the same gods, so they should have ambiguous names but their roles and powers are almost always the same with the exceptions of a few odd things changed among different places and people.

Ok, so for a good map we're gonna wanna think about where we want things geographically as well as climatically. If we're in a cold wasteland we'll be far north. My suggestion, we should build out from where we want to start, that way we at least have somewhere that we can bring us all together and we'll adventure out from there.

I'm partial to starting out in a colder climated environment. Either a temperate area during the winter or a place to the north.

BTW, Ambra, I turned Legends into a D&D campaign and one of my friends is actually remaking the map... because I didn't realize it at the time but you literally just took Westeros and tossed it at me as a map XD (I hadn't watched GoT at the time so I didn't know).

I was thinking if we have every nation having very different ecosystems climatically that each nation would haves soldiers deadly in their nations environments. Like a Forested nations would make use of Thieves and fighters and generally weapons with shorter range to make up for the forest tightness. While Plains would make use of Mounted units and bow users for all that open space they have. The Cold areas if they mountains would make good use of flyers and archers and a desert would work best with the mages and flyers since in Fire emblem only mages and Clerics could move easily on sandy levels amongst the grounded units.

That sounds like a good idea. I originally had it that Sariwon was to the south, and is filled with plains and farms.

So that's one nation down. How about the rest? I like Aqua's idea.

And yep. That's where I got the map from. XD

You know nothing, Ambra.

Anyway, since we're obviously in the Wutai part of Ostaria, I'm assuming there are more Eastern boogeymen (mythical creatures) and women than Western ones?
