A LITTLE HEADS UP, AND I CAN'T STRESS THIS ONE ENOUGH; DON'T SIMPLY SKIM THROUGH THE PARAGRAPHS. TAKE YOUR TIME TO CAREFULLY READ THIS BEFORE EXPRESSING INTEREST. IT MIGHT NOT BE YOUR TYPE OF RP.

It's the year 2016. The United States presidential elections are nearing. Anxiety can be felt in the air as this time things are different. Whoever makes his way into the Oval office is not only going to become president, but may also reshape The United States of America, for better or worse.
Following a terrorist attack in last year's Mardi Gras parade by a jihadist group, screenshots began to surf around Reddit showing the two perpetrators discussing the details of their assault. In a public chat no less. After proven to be valid, the fact that there was a terrorist attack planned right under everyone's nose caused an uproar. The Republican party had enough ammo to tear the leading cabinet a new asshole. And that's how the Information Control act came to be. The law, if it was to pass, would regulate and monitor a huge stream of data on the internet and sift potential threats towards U.S interest through an implemented program called "Flashlight". In October 23rd of 2015, after engaging in fierce negotiations with different representatives of the internet, who voiced their protests against the act, a member of the Republican party with the blessing of the President himself, assured that the bill would not come up for a vote during the current term. The news put everyone at ease, but many Internet users warned of upcoming protests should the law come into consideration again. The IC act controversy also was to become the main focus of the 2016 President campaign - Sen. Joseph Johnson of the Democratic party went on to promise the general population that he would make sure the bill would never pass, while his rival, Sen. Richard Conroy declared that he would make sure the bill passes. So far, public support has leaned towards the Democratic party. However...
While the public is left to deal with the political shitstorm, a silent war is happening in the background. A clandestine organization with influence around the world known only as The Network has been manipulating important national events to make sure that it would all come to this. From the early 2000s, they've orchestrated seemingly unrelated political assassinations in order to pave a way to their goals; total control. They are indirectly affiliated with the Republican party, since their discrete nature doesn't allow for direct contact. It would also be extremely convenient for them if the Information Control bill passed. That said, there's little to no information about who leads the organization, the number of members or just exactly how vast their influence is. As a matter of fact, there's no government record even hinting about their existence, which implies that they may have already infiltrated crucial U.S assets.
Cue Mr. Cheshire, a mysterious and wealthy benefactor who covertly has taken the initiative to oppose The Network. The exact time he entered the stage is unknown, but he has amassed enough information to at least acknowledge The Network's existence. The path he deemed fit to counter such a powerful organization was through keeping a distance. He doesn't employ people, he hires them, refusing to reveal any compromising information. It has been proven time and again that, while very shadowy, The Network does have a system of hierarchy. Mr. Cheshire doesn't. And he takes advantage of that by discarding unnecessary pieces and actively eliminating proof of his existence. So far, there's been no indication that The Network is aware of his existence, but that's most likely due to no course of action being taken as of yet seeing as how Cheshire's remained in the information gathering phase.
The mysterious death of Nathan Leighton, an investigative journalist, has piqued the interest of Mr. Cheshire. While to the public eye the murder is simply an accident, Mr. Cheshire, through comparing evidence gathered in the past, has managed to make a connection between the 'accident' and The Network and has also managed to single out a franchise assassin of importance to the organization - a person known only by the name of Adds. The uncovering of such crucial information has led Mr. Cheshire to make a move. His course of action, after years of dormancy, was to hire six elite assassins from around the world and sign a one year contract, which he could renew if he needed their services for another year. Their collective mission; identify and eliminate the assassin known as Adds.

~ Setting
This RP is set in February of 2016, in the near future in New York against the backdrop of the 2016 Presidential campaign. The assassins (you guys) will be accommodated in different hotels so as to remain inconspicuous and will be summoned when needed. There is no major leap in technological advancement, since the world portrayed here is supposed to be similar to ours. There are, however, several advanced tools that you'll carry around in the field. I'll go more into that when the OOC's made. The Assassins will be mostly paired in groups of two and sent in to infiltrate different resorts, strongholds and what not. There will be instances where assassins will be sent in solo.
