Storyline:
The story is set in the regions of Terene on the outskirts of Asheville. Students who arrive are those seeking the understanding of combat. The school offer many teachings of different styles of martial arts, including Kenjutsu, a form of sword fighting. There is a dark omen that plagues the academy. Over a century ago, the academy was once ruled by an ancient samurai, Akihiko Hisashi. No one was aware of his tyranny; training young participating students the dark arts of the Kurai (Japanese for “darkness”) Akihiko were looking for these young acolytes to serve him so he could invade Genesaris…fortunately, he failed. There was one male who attented the academy, Junichi Saburo, who attempted to shed light upon those who were cursed under Akihiko’s rule. Junichi used the form of Hikari (Japanese for “Light”) in order to transform the students back to normal. Junichi was only able to accomplish half of what he set out to do. Afterwards, it became a matter of good vs. evil. Akihiko and his acolytes were defeated, but he did not go down without taking Junichi with him. Followers of the Hikari used a monument outside of the academy to open a portal, where they banished Akihiko and his followers. Unfortunately, the forbidden portal can not close without the direct opposite of what was thrown into it. Since Akihiiko was of the darkness, Junichi had to sacrifice himself as a follower of the light and enter the portal as well. Today, the monument still stands, but can only be opened if one knows the ancient forbidden spell. Without their influence, the academy fell apart, only to be rediscovered by old martial arts master, Tadao Kiyoshi, a warm hearted and respected man. He has heard of the legends but decided to not dwell on them and re-built the academy from the ground up. In this new generation, headmaster Sin'chi Hajime now rules the academy. He is not like Tadao who passed away years ago. Daisuke allowed the use the Hikari and the Kurai but under a tight controlled and healthy use, unlike Akihiko centuries before him. Students who join are given a choice to follow the path of the Hikari or the Kurai.
As the Shaolin School once again prospered, it dares to face an ancient enemy. The story of Akihiko and his dark acolytes of the Kurai became a myth. No one was aware of their presence or if they even existed…until one fateful night…

Information:
This role-play will consist of two paths to take…the Hikari (Light) or the Kurai (Dark) Each path has their own set of martial art styles to choose from, or you can create a custom style. Depending on which path you choose, your choice whether to have magic or not will be affected. With the path of the Hikari, your magic will lean toward healing, buffering the strength of other users, using light to blind your opponents. The Kurai will do the exact opposite, as it will lean toward poisoning, hindering the strength of other users, and using darkness to cloud your mind. Each path has both melee martial arts and magic arts. Use these different styles and combine to create a fighting technique that suits you. No matter what path you choose, characters will participate in the same classes together. There is no segregation. Our characters will participate in the same classes, to keep the communication and relationships between our characters close.
Classes:
- Homeroom: A simple gathering of students, gathering information about the academy.
- First Class (Study of Strength): Learning the ways of strength, anatomy, and physical growth.
- Second Class (Study of Wisdom): Learning the ways of intelligence, neurology, how to meditate.
- Third Class (Study of Charisma): Learning the ways of leadership, business, how to communicate.
- Fourth Class (Study of Combat): Leader the ways of melee, magic, and how to maneuver.
(Classes will not happen on the same day. Homeroom will begin first day of school. First class will happen the next day, second class on the day afterwards etc, unless told otherwise.)
Dorm Rooms:
There will be three buildings for male, female, and co-ed. Each building has three floors and each floor has ten rooms. Rooms on the first floors of all buildings will have a number and a letter (1-A, 2-A etc.) The second floors will have “B” and the third floors will have “C”

Default Melee Styles:
-Togakure Ninpo Taijutsu: A style that focuses on quick reflexes. The user is trained to wait for their opponent to attack and quickly strike while being stationary.
-Jukendo: A style that uses bayonettes as means of spear fighting.
-Shoot Boxing: A style that uses kicks, punches, elbows, throws, and standing submissions (chokeholds, armlocks and wristlocks.)

Default Melee Styles:
-Bajiquan: A style that uses explosive, short-range power, famous for its elbow strikes.
-Ng Ga Kuen: A style that uses five different types of boxing (Tiger, Dragon, Leopard, the Snake and the Crane.)
- Shua Jiao: A form of sumo wrestling. The user is trained to grab, throw, and easy find his or her way out of a submission hold or grab.

(No matter what path you choose, you do not have to choose the default melee styles. You can choose whichever fighting style you wish or even create a custom style to your liking. You can have two martial art styles and three magic abilities per character.)

Few more notes:
- Your character can be any race. The school does not just accept human characters. This gives the role-play diversity.
- I will need a ace in the whole, someone (or group) who is able to stir up a bit of "evil" in the school to move the story to the point of the ancient war that Akihiko's soul wishes to befall upon the academy. Be that of a double-agent, current student, instructor, or an outside source.

Mikado Daigaku: Episode One
“We have an interesting cast of heroes who has their own reasons for joining the martial arts academy. This was the first day for Sin’chi Hajime, the new headmaster of the school and he was able to meet some of the gifted and…scary students that he will be instructing for the whole year. Everyone in class demonstrated how their energy control; some succeeded and some failed. Afterwards, everyone met their roommates who turn out to be their fellow classmates! Little did they know, the Nisshoku (eclipse) was rapidly approaching that marks the cycle of evil. The last time the Nisshoku appeared was when the ancient lord of the Kurai, Akihiko Hisashi, oppressed everyone in the region with his evil reign of terror…that was generations ago. There was an unexpected guest that has arrived as well. During the time of Akihiko’s reign, Lady Kazumi ruled the lands along with the love of her life and now…after hiding for generations, using forbidden spells to keep her youth and her life intact, she has returned and infiltrated Mikado Daigaku. Sin’chi received word of this but could not find her instead he found Okihika Hanzo, who is one of his students and Akihiko’s protégé but nothing out of the ordinary. Sin’chi is now on high alert and must protect his younger students. Tune in for the next episode of Mikado Daigaku!”
