Life In The Vault Character
Name: Elizabeth Thurston III
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Appearance:
HerPersonality/Traits:
- Strength (10): The only thing really going for her, she is incredibly strong, hefting large boxes and heavy objects day in and day out has basically made her into a fork truck. This comes in handy when picking something heavy up or swinging her hammer.
- Perception (5): She's got normal hearing and sight but isn't perceptive enough pick out hidden emotions from voice or posture. If someone were sad or happy and was trying to hide it, she'd be oblivious.
- Endurance (8): Both physical and mental, her body learned to take a lot of hits since she began working in maintenance, often acting as impromptu pest control by crawling into ducts and crawl spaces to dispatch creatures with her hammer; she also has the ability to concentrate for long periods of time, it may not be on something useful but she can look at a broken thing for hours on end and eventually come to a conclusion on fixing it.
- Charisma (3): Though she likes the company of other people and enjoys the chance to have a conversation, she's not very socially adept, coming off as awkward and speaking slowly and thoughtfully, due to a from-birth speech impediment. She spends a lot of time on her lonesome because people find that she's just too much hassle to try and talk to, when someone does approach her to talk she becomes overly excited and mixed with her speech problems, it comes off as awkward and sometimes off putting.
- Intelligence (4): She was never the smartest girl in school, having difficulties learning as easily as most because she never participated on account of her speech impediment, she did however get her way into the maintenance department (due to her parents bring former members) but they gave her a token spot, moving around boxes and running messages up and down long maintenance shafts.
- Agility (6): In the guts of maintenance, there is a mess of wires and pipes, most of the pipes are very hot and a lot of the wire insulation has been chewed away by rats, so touching most surfaces is hazardous to one's health. She's learned to adapt to this and thus can move through the maze safely and swing her hammer at bugs/rats quite decent.
- Luck (4): Her luck has never been the best, having been born with a speech impediment it pretty much started from birth. She once had loving parents but they died in a gas leak incident, leaving her alone in the orphanage, literally alone because everyone else had moms and dads. Though she did carry with her their advice, and a lucky eight ball.
Occupation: Maintenance - Deputy Stock Administrator (A fake title to make her feel better, her job is to move boxes and be obedient)
Biography: Elizabeth was born to Faraday J. Thurston and Marie Clempt, both employees of maintenance, she was suppose to have a twin but her sibling was born stillborn. Her speech impediment was not apparent until she was 6, by this point she had not said a word but could understand what she was being told. She spoke her first words when she was 9, during a usual crying fit she had with her mother, she had been bullied a lot in school for not talking, upon hearing her daughter's voice her mother encouraged her to keep talking, hoping it would get better she would never know if it would. A few days later, Marie and Faraday were tasked to go down and investigate a gas leak, they never came back but what happened to them was sure. A spark had ignited the gas and the explosion shook the tunnel, the bodies were never found, most likely disintegrated by the blast. From then on she lived in the orphanage, which it really wasn't, it was a mattress they had so generously gave her in the school, they wouldn't let her stay in her old room because a new couple wanted to move into it. Despite being in a school most of her childhood, she learnt relatively little, her inability to speak properly making her too hesitant to ask questions and making her teacher not bothered enough to try and work with her. From then on difficulties only got worse until she took the G.O.A.T. She was pleased she got into maintenance but didn't know that she got in because she had no other place to be put. She lives in one of the rooms in maintenance now, a small cramped thing that must have once been a closet.
Done! Finally!
