Swat and the SAS carry a on hand that they will take into the battle (The M16) a off hand that will be strapped to their leg (The shotgun) and in some cases a side arm in a hidden spot like your boot. It is used in the army, beat cops wouldn't use it however as it is too heavy and point men/those runner guys wouldn't either as they are heavy to carry it around. However, if you are a strong enough guy, and speed isnt your top concern then they are a valuable asset. As my old grandfather used to say "You can never have too many guns"
