@Nate Sheet looks good, but there aren't any elves in this RP.
Much like House Aseryo's castle, the Tosen's castle was located in a broad expanse of grass fields. A slight cool breeze often worked its way across the plains, making the dead weeds and ferns rustle and sway. It looked much duller than she imagined, she had to admit; she heard stories of House Tosen's fields being filled with life and colorful flora, but all she saw was a sickly and tawny shade of brown surrounding a large building.
XD you remember my explanation for it right? It's not that he is an elf but rather his people are thought of as elves since their culture is so vastly different than the rest of the world and few Opradans ever climb the mountain to interact or trade with the world. They are nimble and quick especially in trees and rough terrain, and as a hunting culture most of them are great archers. Seeing an Opradan outside of their country is rare so it is commonly thought that the country is a country of elves.
Well, I attributed it to something like legend. Elves don't exist in reality but we have plenty of legends and fantasy stories about them and so we could call something an elf if it behaved much like something from those legends.
So while Ostaria may not have elves they could have legends of beings called elves that could be identified by certain traits, possibly legends of Opradans interacting with the world from long ago. We never really defined a history or language for any of these cultures so it could be possible that the word "elf" may derive from an ancient form of another word that these cultures had for Opradans.
I'm very good at creating lore, especially to explain something like this within the bounds of the existing lore XD
It was never actually specified where we were so I didn't really have much to go on...
Edit: Correction, it was specified that we were in a castle/palace. Typically you wouldn't build a castle in the middle of nowhere. It would be surrounded by a village or city with the outskirts of which being fields of farmland. Considering this is one of the 3 main houses of Sariwon and that it was never specified whether we were in a city or village it's safe to assume that it is a city.
It's not an unfair assumption either way. Castle's typically encapsulate at least a small village along with the main palace. Importing food during these times would be expensive and inefficient so you would have a village of workers who work the farms, guards and the families thereof. Get enough people to ensure that you can feed everyone and it's safe to assume you'd build a place of worship (though we haven't established any religion left) where they can all go. If this is feudal as it appears it is House Tosen would be like a Lord serving a king, they would have power over a large amount of land which they would "lease" out to other nobles or to townsfolk to grow their food.
I'd say its better to keep to the core story, as fun(ny) as that may sound. Only adding/suggestion tidbit and the like as we progress.
Now that I think about it, can the drakes have different colors? If so, I think mine will be either blue or green.
Good news. My personal crisis was handled far faster than anticipated, so now I'm home. I'll get a post up soon.
Lorelei can take the Lord position at the nearest IC convenience, but I guess others will handle Silzard until that time arrives.
It's just a matter of when, and how. I don't want to just have an arrow fly through his brain at the beginning of a skirmish, is all I know. :d
