We're still open for both faction and city NSes, and I will change the uh title of the roleplay to reflect how many cities we actually get.
No. I mean, just look at the chatzy, and you can tell that people are getting carried away - in my opinion at least.
A lot of us were in Gilded Throne, and that was really special. In that RP, our factions were consistent with one another and we worked off of a common history. For the most part, everyone had a fairly standard medieval nation. In this RP, it seems like everyone is trying to one-up everyone else by trying make their faction just that much cooler. Some of that of that is healthy excitement for the RP, but it's gotten to the point where everyone's nations are so discordant that they don't feel like they belong on the same world, let alone the same continent. People aren't making nations with compelling stories; from what I've seen, everyone's trying to impress one another.
That's not what RPing is about to me, and that's why I'm out. I would love for you guys to prove me wrong, though.

This is why we can't have nice things.

a unique fantasy world
Furthermore, while multiple sentient species will inhabit this world, I would like to stay away from the elf/dwarf/gnome/orc/goblin mainstays of D+D. Players would be encouraged to give the traditional fantasy races a unique twist, or better yet invent their own!
Guys no! We must all be vanilla empires A through F.
Waking up to someone making such a complaint really boiled my blood. It's a fantasy setting. If someone wants to have sentient mushrooms I'm sure Flagg would approve if it was well written.
I'd rather see well written unique nations than six bland empires so maybe to shake your Internet phallus elsewhere? If people wanted similarly cohesive nations, based on fact it'd be a historical or alt-history setting.
Your opinion is there is a lack of cohesion. My opinion is that we're still in the world building stage and to make what is essentially nothing other than a shrouded insult is very annoying.
On brighter news, welcome Mr Khan! No you can't play as the red city as my city is already red and I must 1 up you and be cooler.
