Hmmmmm. . . .As I seem to recall, we planned for them to have this "Talk" seeeeveral posts ago, but the two times it could have reasonably happened, your guy walked out in the middle of this discussion :P

*Smiles* I would love to hear a blow by blow of your thoughts before I go on to pour on more because I'm rather narcissistic and can talk about myself forever :P

Yeah, detour is awesome. Technically it's classified as "Small" but really, anything bigger and it would lose it's charm. It's big enough to have all the awesome but small enough to feel very "Family" like. And of course the only English voice actor I know(And only one I actually like) comes every year and is awesome and says Detour is the best he's ever been to and has been coming since forever *Rambles* Anyways, yeah, it's an awesome con. Very fun.

But yeah, I live off feedback, please, tell me your thoughts!

I think narcissism is fun as long as it doesn't go overboard. Well, Idk, I don't think things through enough sometime, let's have the talk now though.

There is just so much to comment about, from the actual dressing up to the yaoi store to the voice actors. All we get here are small time comic artists that nobody has really heard about :/ Are you ever gonna dress up yourself like those die hard fans or would you rather go simpler or just no dressing up at all? That's just one question cause to tell you now, I'm a little under the weather (horribly horribly sick because I don't do well sick even if it's a slight cold) so my brains kinda still swaying in the sickly fluids inhabiting my cerebral. I may become delirious and perhaps cannibalistic so fair warning now, I take no responsibility over missing frontal lobes, but I can cover cortex recovery.

Just wanted to reply sooner before it all escaped my mind :3

Ah, the cos play. I cos play every year, some are more high quality than others, but I wear 3 different cosplay every year, one for each day of the con :P This year I was Vejita(Vegeta) from Dragon Ball Z: His pink 'Bad Man' shirt and the yellow pants, Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist: His classic garb complete with the red jacket, sans the machine arm because I'm not that good yet, anf for the final day I was Matt from Death Note: The only outfit you ever see him in complete with gameboy. He only had less than a minute screen time, but I'm a devout part of his cult following :P

So yeah, I cos play, and it's so much fun! I carry around my "I heart Yaoi" bag with me at all times so everyone knows I am Yaoi Otaku :P I bought $100 worth of Yaoi from one stall this year, and these were postes, not Anime. I think I own most of the Yaoi anime I enjoy though, so finding ones that I don't own and want is hard. . . .Thank gog for the internet!

It's so cool that you can dress up, anyone try to take pictures with you or anything? Or anyone else matching your costume? XD I don't see much of death note cosplay nowadays save for the first two main. I'm always amazed how good opposite genders look as each other, any of that sort of crossing over there? Or any plans of yours to ever do a cross? I assume you are a guy and whatnot.

Do you go for art or story when you choose yaoi? I usually go for the art. Sometimes even if the story is really good, but the art is really out of proportion or just too funny, then I can't take it seriously or even follow the story that well. I still love Yaoi though even the funny strange ones with gigantic yaoi hands and heads way too small XD

Yes, I had a few pics taken of me, mostly in my Matt and Edward cosplays. :P Yeah, I met several Edwards. Two at the same time at one point. Many hugs went around. :P Yeah, sadly, Death Note is actually hard to cosplay due to the fact that everyone wheres basically normal clothing. Props are needed. . . .Except Ryuke of course. :P There's a lot of crossplayers every year. One year I went as The Major(Motoko Kusanagi) from Ghost in the Shell. So yeah, I've crossplayed. The heels killed my feet though. :P

I'll give any Yaoi a chance and even if the art style isn't my fave I give it a read anyways. After all, finding Yaoi isn't all that easy per se(Legit Manga anyways) so I take what I can get. *Giggles at the hand reference* Well, actually, Jujou Romantica(And it's follow-up Sekai-Ichi Hatsukoi), one of the best Yaoi ever, has a mild to moderate case of the "Yaoi Hands" and honestly, I really don't care. If you just read and don't focus on it, accepting the art work as is, such trivial things as that fade into the background and allows you to enjoy the Yaoi without reserve.

As for what I DO like, I'm not particularly picky. I like different things at different times, so I don't really have a preference per se. I like everything from Jazz to Our Kingdom to Time Lag to friggan Incubus :P So, yeah :P I like it all. I have a vast collection of doujinshi as well, but other than 2 they are all digital.

Sigh, yet it is a little bit of how yaoi isn't that all widely accepted that makes it a little exciting to read and discover. All the same, I'd still be a fan. I'm fine with the yaoi hands, it's just the really ridiculous stuff like the bed is gigantic or the head is a thousand times smaller than everything else or the lip is a botox disaster. It's usually the really big stuff that you can't ignore, and kinda takes away from the story unless you pretend it's characters are aliens. XD There are some really bad ones, though I can't quite remember their names; there are thousands of tumblrs dedicated to them.

And Ouch, heels. You are dedicated, even I don't think I could make it in a pair of stilettos for an hour, let alone the whole day. Death note is really easy to cosplay, but hard to be noticed cause of that reason; the easier the cosplay, the harder it is for people to know who you are some time. I think height really helps with some cosplay, only cause characters can be distinguished by height. Even for a character with no definite height, like say one of the vocaloids which I saw at a comic con, well, let's say, as long as it wasn't Rin or Len, they look good tall (Really nice and tall and god I think I have a crush on that guy's wig.). Shota characters can be short, but they gotta have that look also. Ahhh...I guess what I'm saying is I wish I was taller @@

Digital is really convienient, but there's something about real books. You know, it's like playing an online game vs a simple board game, there's something a little special about being able to hold the pieces, though, I guess I'm just old fashioned like that. That all being said, I've been hoping to get some yaoi games, but ah, they're so hard to get in a country like this! And I don't understand a zip of Japanese or even Korean, my learning rate is terrible, so it limits options a little. Still, there's once again a difference between the game and the book <3

Junjou may get picked on a bit, the style making things seem out of proportion on occasion :P

Nothin' wrong with being short. My twin's short and she's proud of it!(I'ma guy) She has fun playing taller male characters and Shota too. :P

I don't. . . Mind digital, but I do prefer to have a book in my hands. Allows me to carry it with me(Has no lappy top) and I don't have to worry about plugging in or any of that to have my entertainment :P I can link you to a few places to watch and read yaoi if you like.

Sorry, I'm overseas now ^^" So a little scarce online.

And oohh, you have a twin? I'm gonna be nosy but identical or?...Cause that could lead to so many great twin cosplays XD
Sure I don't mind :3 I get my yaoi on the fly anyway. I actually like it a little when artists deviate away from the typical manga style. Guess that's not called yaoi anymore though, more like just plain gay comics XD

No, not identical. We actually look quite different.

This is the best place for watching Yaoi, and getting a list of good Yaoi Manga - http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/forum.php

Actually Yaoi is not a style, it's a genre, and as long as it's in the genre, the style can be whatever way it wants. Gay comics, as in comics made by gays for gays, is called Bara, an tend to be more sex oriented and far less story driven.

I hope you're having fun overseas!!!!!

Hmm, I'm not thinking bara because the style I'm talking about is a lil more cartoony, hard to put an exact name to it I guess. Thanks for the link and yeah I'm having fun :3

It's just that the term was coined in Japan so you usually have certain associations with it. Anyway, how do you feel about seeing yaoi ships of your childhood? Because, there are certainly shippers out there and dammit, there are artists who make it seem so plausible ._. Or at least you want it to happen XD

I do a lot of shipping, but not for a lot of my childhood things. But then again, I watched a mix of kids shows and teen to adult movies, so I am not quite sure what childhood things I've seen shipped ver much. Mostly my focus on things is from Anime and Manga and stuff that's more recent I suppose. . . .Hmmmmm. . .I can think of a looooot of ships I have, but for the most part I like making up my own characters to be with the characters I like the most. I like MAKING the perfect match for a character most of the time. It's a lot easier to get into the characters' heads that way. Like, I love hooking up with Sesshomaru :P He's in my top 10 faves to pair up with and make their lives that little bit brighter. it's easy because he spends so much time off screen :P What about you? Any characters you like to the point of wanting to huggle them?

(P.S. Sorry this took so long. You got trapped in the mess that is my subs section! *Bows* So sorry!)
