THE AGE OF NATIONS
The Year of Our Lord, 1836 has seen the Known World cast astray by the machinations of technology and the aspirations of great men. Tkhe Great Powers maintain a devious status quo, haphazardly held in the balance at the point of a bayonet. These times, they are dark ones. For the cries of liberation and nationalism stir in men's hearts and few understand how the old ways will be cast aside.

SOVEREIGN NATIONS OF THE WORLD
GREAT POWERS
-- Boletarian Commonwealth (Great Power): A large and populous country, The Commonwealth is home to 73 million subjects. This large population will serve it's ambitions well as factories need to be manned and rifles held, uniforms donned. It has an army of 640,000 men that fight moderately well. The Commonwealth, since it's founding has faced many a hardship. Both external and internal, however these have only served to strengthen the unity of the nation and it's subjects, and now stands unified, with multiple claims backed by history. A relatively small Navy serves the Commonwealth, serving mainly to protect the channel that runs along it's border and protecting trade ships in it's charted territory. The Commonwealth has political claims on the Kingdom of Vressia and the Principality of Sordogne, considering the multi-ethnic standing of the Commonwealth.

-- Kingdom of Nehalenia (Great Power): Nehalenia strives for domination of the valuable sea-based trade between the new worlds and the old ones. It tries to maintain peaceful relations with the other great powers while expanding their colonial influence throughout the Western Sides and Serranthia. With a meager population of only 22,000,000, much of Nehelenia's profits come from it's vast overseas colonies in the Western Sides and Serranthia. With the world's third largest navy of 27 third rates, 20 second rates, 10 first rate ships, Nehelenia embodies an immense fleet to protect it's colonial holdings. It does however suffer from the rumblings of nationalism, both abroad and at home. It has no allies and no claims on any land. It has an army of 179,000 moderately trained soldiers.

-- Kingdom of Skeptoni (Great Power): Among the great powers, the Skeptonian Royal Army is second to none. With a population of 35,000,000, the Skeptonian Peninsula is a budding center of cultural and civilization, though it suffers from several reactionary movements as does the similarly colonizing Nehelenians. The Skeptonian Royal Navy with 30 Third Rates, 20 Second Rates and 11 First Rates is the second largest in the world, but Skeptonian Admirals have seen with growing animosity the quickly modernizing Nehalenian and Zellonian fleets to the west. Skeptoni has claims on the southern borders of the Duchy of Fulric but has no allies. It has an army of 220,000 of well armed soldiers.

With a population of 22,000,000 the Osladians are a strong coastal cultural group on the continent. Their victory in the Osladian-Ville War of 1815 under Ottovan V led to the creation of the Ville Confederation, a client state that created a buffer between Oslad and the other nations of the Old World. Without any colonies, the Oslad Federation has fought on, modernizing by itself. It's army of 269,000 are mostly conscripts with a single division of elite marksman. It has a formidable navy with 16 Third Rate, 13 Second Rates, and 6 First Rate ships

Empire of Zellon (Great Power): With the exact size navy as the Skeptonians, Zellon has long been a naval rival of their comrades across the bay. An entirely island nation, Zellon has a population of 22,000,000 and is led by King Zach Conrad. With an army of 99,000 professional troops, Zellon is a well equipped Great Power but has only a budding colonial presence in the world. They have a navy of 33 Third Rates, 22 Second Rates and 11 First Rates.

-- United Kingdoms of Dalatrum (Regional Power): A former Great Power with a meager population of only 13,000,000, The Dalatrian capital however is a bustling hub of trade between the Eastern Caliphates and the Old World and is a wonderful mix of culture and ethnicity. The Dalatrian Army numbers only 100,000 men but it's efficient command structure is considered the greatest in the world, hindered only by a lack of men able to pick up a rifle instead of tending a field. Rivalries of both Nehelenia and Skeptoni, Dalatrum is also a budding colonial power, with much of its income coming from it's overseas handling. They have a navy of 15 Third Rate, 12 Second Rates, and 5 First Rate ships.

-- The Queendom of Amazonia (Western Sides Regional Power): A queendom of matriarchal warrior women in the hinterlands of the New World, Amazonia has had only fleet access to the Old World powers, though it has maintained a large section of land with a swath of resources within it's borders. The neighboring Zanoni Tribes have pledged fealty to the Amazonians for some time, seeking assistance from incursions of colonial settlers. With a population of 13,000,000 the queendom is one of the few entities that could, if necessary oppose the Old World powers. While peaceful, they can at any time call up over 104,000 brave warriors and riders to defend their lands and in raids have captured 3 Third Rates, 2 Second Rates, and a Nehelenian 1 First Rate ship.

-- Kingdom of Vatannia (Regional Power): Held together by the new budding Vatannian nationalism, Vatannia lies on the cusp of Great Power status because of it's hasty modernization attempts. When a civil war erupted in 1832 in Galvia to the north, Vatannia regiments marched to the aid of the monarchists and helped defeat the reactionary revolutionaries there. Because of this, the Galvian King Christopher de Ludwig has pledged an oath of friendship with it's southern neighbors. The Vatannian Army numbers 275,000 but is made up of woefully trained peasants and militiamen. The Vatnnian Army has 7 Third Rate ships, 2 Second Rates and 1 First Rate.

With a navy of 18 3rd rate ships, 16 second rate ships, and 7 first rate ships, it has been able to threaten the larger Great Powers for dominance of the Old South Sea. Though only a budding colonial power, Braiyusal has room to grow. With a population of only 10,000,000 it's meager army of 80,000 are well armed and well trained. The Sanguine Empire comprises over a dozen different cultures and dialects under its collective belt into a vast empire that ranges from forests to desert to tundra in the north. Bordering the strange Tanashi Empire in the east, the Sanguine Empire has long stood as a buffer state for the rest of the Old World. A cultural melting pot, Sanguine has long stood in the east a potential Great Power, but much too embroiled in inner politics to ever turn it's look outward. It has a reasonably well trained army of 445,000 soldiers.

With a population of 17,000,000 it has an army of 178,000 of the best trained troops on the continent and the most elite artillery corps in the world. Backed up by an armaments industry that is seconded only by Zukovia in the Southeast and Anvegad is a terrifying power indeed. With a standing professional army of 134,000, the Kalpian Royal Army has an excellent command structure comparative to it's size. As mercantilism took hold however, it's lack of colonies became readily apparent and it's loss during the Sino-Skeptonian War (1798-1801) saw the last of the Imperial Sinesian Navy off the Skeptonian coast and has never quite recovered. With a population of only 11,000,000, Sinesia has potential to be among the Great Powers but is held in check by Dalatrian influence and a corrupt and inept monarchy under King Quinn the Guard.

Though comprising 39,000,000 souls of over thirteen different cultures, the Sultanate's army of 290,000 is made of men who are bereft of standard arms, same language and standardized tactics.

A truly multi-ethnic empire, it is held together by a strong economic base and an elective monarchy that has seen descendants of strong Dalatrian, Vatannian and even Skeptonian families on the throne in the past. Home to over 18,000,000 people, Osteria's fierce home industry is due to it's immense Blackleaf forests. Osteria under the reign of King Karl von Kassitz has seen remarkable improvements, but remains despotic in nature with a majority of it's population spoiling away in factories as serfs. While attempting to reconquer the Fulric Duchy, it has found a friend in the Boletarian Commonwealth, which it has bought many different cannons and muskets from in anticipating of arming it's 120,000 men. 1 Season = 1 Turn (1 Turn is everyone being able to post and respond to an event and interact. It doesn't have a set time but once I see everyone engaged for a while, the next month will come up. If a crisis is being debated over, I won't rush it).

MILITARY DOCTRINES
Artillery Assault: With an emphasis on lines of riflemen and artillery batteries, your nation's primary focus is critical and unrelenting destruction of the enemy. With your nation's industry used to equip your nation's forces with the most powerful cannons and accurate rifles, your army's primary strategy is the quick annihilation of enemy forces. [Supplemented by Industry]
Forced Conscription: Where other nations may utilize technology or strategy, your nation simply seeks victory through attrition. If there's a fire, your generals will put it out by piling bodies on it, the most plentiful resource available. The more troops, the more territory can be taken and the more your enemy has to kill if they wish to take the field. [Supplemented by Population]
Maneuver Warfare: Utilizing fast lines of supply and communication, your armies mobile cavalry and light skirmishers will complement your nation's army to quickly outflank the enemy, striking at their flanks and rear. This is optimal for nations that need a quick victory, but these troops must be highly specialized. [Supplemented by Forests, Mountains, Rivers Harsh Terrain]
Strategic Command: Your troops may not be the best in the world (or they may be), but it is your commanders that are truly exemplary. So skilled are they that they can adapt and change. Few things surprise them, and even if operating autonomously they can often snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. No amount of genius can defeat being outproduced, out fought, or simply outmaneuvered however. [Supplemented by Train Army]
