I'll elaborate on the seals, then. He's a "lock, stall and stun" sort of fighter, focused on wearing down his opponents by negating their attacks and then disabling their means of offense and defense. His "signature" technique is writing up an ofuda in the midst of battle, which when placed on an opponent puts a sort of mental lock on one or more of their techniques, depending on his understanding of them. If you're familiar with JJBA, this is similar to Rohan's "Heaven's Door" ability. Or just the Pokemon move "Disable." His stronger spells will literally either bind or seal away an enemy, but those are complex and require a lot of prep work. His most basic spells are attack negations; just one-offs that will defend against a single attack. Once he starts getting really tricky, he can start using his seals in a more abstract manner. Sealing away ideas and memories to reshape a person's mind, or sealing away their limitations to unlock hidden potential. Weird stuff like that. Of course, those require complex rituals and components, and aren't practical to perform outside of battle.

I can see you edging towards the "reject" button seeing that last ability, but it's mostly for plot fiat, and I won't use it unless there is an agreed-upon plot reason to do so. In actual battle, expect him to fight like a "Para-Flincher" in competitive Pokemon.

The Blank Canvas is to let him use abilities outside of his "class," in a way, mostly to round him out against stronger opponents, or for plot reasons as needed.

@Dead Cruiser: I'm not so sure about this. You don't really go into his abilities very much, so with the vague nod to his sealing spells, he's either overpowered or underpowered, it's hard to tell. Blank Canvas edges into an area I don't really like in RPs(perfect ability copying) as well as making him kind of ineffective if it's his primary combat ability given its limitations.

@Savo: "Programming" a homunculus is one of the reasons to even make them, along with the ability to determine physical capabilities. It's essentially custom-making a human, with all the skills and physical traits you want. You can make them, from the moment they're alive, instinctively know how to do things with the same level of skill as someone who has trained their whole life. You can make killing come to someone as naturally as breathing. Messing up during creation of a homunculus can have some pretty horrible results, though.

Also the transfer would have to have happened very, very quickly, since the soul lingers around the corpse for faaaaar longer than the consciousness part does.

Alright, so all I just need to do is correct the programming stages and make it happen before the death of Arata, and make him question himself after he murders his master instead of making him throw up. Along with that, more memory loss, correct? Don't want to remove all of his memories, so I'll remove all his childhood memories, save for the knowledge of White Night, and have a few blanks across his memory. How does that all sound?

I'm going to keep the training stuff though if that's ok. They may of programmed him, but it never hurts to make sure the process was successful.

Anyways, thank you for helping me in this process Vita! Now it is time to create the ultimate lifeform!

Er, wrong rp.

@Dead Cruiser: I think there's something I'm not getting here, because I'm just sort of confused. ^^;

@Savo: Well, the programming has to happen afterwards. It's important for the setting that you can't actually apply the same sort of thing to a living human's mind but it'd be easy enough to say it was done after moving the consciousness and soul but before he was awakened.

Edit: Also Shi's picture has been updated.

What else do you need me to explain for you to understand Shino's abilities?

I think the way you've worded it is just confusing me. Maybe like an example of what it can do described in detail?

I'll write out a sort of play-by-play. Maybe that will help.

Shino is fighting demon snake. The snake is faster and stronger, and attacks with venom. Shino uses a pre-written "Attack Seal" to counter the attack. Having prepared for the battle previously, Shino kites the snake into a sealing trap, binding it in place for a few seconds. In this time, Shino writes up a more specific seal, for the specific action of biting. He slaps the seal on the snake, who is then released, but is now unable to bite. The snake is mostly unable to attack, and Shino finalizes his oblivion seal as he continues to kite the snake, finishing it off by sealing it completely into an ofuda.

That's just the general idea of how he fights. Though I would say that he is not really a combat-focused character. I neglected to write this into the CS (my bad) but he's present to observe the White Night and tip the scales in the favor of the most "balanced" competitor, rather than compete himself.

So soul transfer first, programming later.

Sounds good to me. I fixed it to where the transfer of the soul happens first, then the programming completely happens afterwords. I think it is finally ready for another check. I made sure to remove the throwing up part and I think he might be ready to go; your call on this ^^

@Dead Cruiser: I'm... not so sure about this. Being able to lock down anything like that seems really easy to abuse. Couldn't he just make it impossible for someone to breath? Or just constantly lock down anything they try and do?

Also, shouldn't he know Displacement? I mean, given what he did.

@Savo: He looks good now, though I'm not completely sure why the mage decided to transfer the consciousness unless you're going for "I want to lord it over him while removing enough memories to make him not understand why" like I thought you initially were. ^^;

He did it without realizing it to say the least. He wanted to lord over him without understanding anything, but it ended up backfiring without him even noticing...

Which lead to the murder after putting a few of the pieces together.

Theoretically he could, I suppose, but his battlefield "disable" seals are all temporary, as he doesn't have the time available while in combat to write up particularly strong ones. That aside, it isn't something that he would do-- killing, or at least endangering someone like that, I mean. He doesn't have a "one rule," like Batman or something, but killing someone is at complete odds with his philosophy of taking temporary and reversible measures as a means to an end. So to summarize, I suppose my answer is, "theoretically yes, but that would completely break his character."

The "complete lockdown" you mentions is theoretically the strongest application of his powers. But it's far harder to pull off than you suggest. The average opponent has many techniques that would have to be locked, and it would be basically impossible to have the time to write seals for all of them in battle. To achieve a total lockdown of someone's abilities, they would have to fall for the same traps and tricks repeatedly, and make no attempt to remove any of the temporary seals. So basically, it's a very unlikely situation. Shino is far more apt to trap and trick the opponent into getting one or two of their techniques sealed away, and then use the time bought with this to accomplish whatever his goal is.

Regarding the displacement: he may have known the technique at one point, but he can't remember. Funny how that happens.

@Dead Cruiser: Hmm, while that's better, I'll admit one of my reservations is that you're playing both the vampire and her Master if he's accepted. It might be better to have him in the background, for now at least.
