Well, with all this art being shown here, I might as well flex out my muscles here. I had a phase where I wanted to stick animate, but I managed to only make a six second fight and then I got bored and quit.

"It's better than I could do at least," I say as I try to draw a simple, straight line that ends up looking as straight as a frickin' rainbow.

There's an actual thing where you do draw words. It's called typography.

Thought that was calligraphy?

Calligraphy goes under typography these days, save for ones with special traditions like Japanese or Chinese typography, and very specific word styles like old English.

Oh there's also that calligraphy is very specifically by hand, but typography can be both.

I know of Korean Calligraphy thanks to NK, but I consider calligraphy as a very different kind of art.

According to NK, this means "Lunar New Year." I'm presuming you're talking about this kind of calligraphy, right? (even if it's not the most fanciful among them)

Sort of, to my understanding though typography is required to be legible, calligraphy often isn't. It is a bit of a blurred line though.

I was way into stick fighting for a while, but Pivot was only ever the best software I could use, and I wasn't even very good at that. My best work was a series of animated introductions for the characters in a group of writers. Here it is:

It makes precious little sense unless somehow you were to know the backstories of the characters.

Man, Pivot was my life when I was a kid, I was actually pretty decent at it, and by decent I mean terrible. I might actually download it again and fiddle with it.

Well, don't think I can compare that to Hyun or Resh, but some parts actually looked pretty decent, and I know that I would most likely quit half way through a project if I ever tried to do something like that. So kudos for you. The only thing I fully understood was the RHG! Those things are the coolest.

I once animated a large battle for a school project in Pivot.

I actually did a lot different things in Pivot.

Neat, is there anyway you could show us your animations? I'm always happy to see new stick figure animations.
