Um, think they should maybe be a bit more unified, at least enough that they're more willing to fund a standing military. If all they really have is a calvary then they miss out completely on some of the cool stuff we talked about before.

By 'standing military' I mean 'there is no unified army across the whole empire'. The military situation is very much based on the HRE's decline (though in this case it's just that there was no real unity to start with), with the 'elite' stuff coming from being based on the ERE.

Plus standing armies as a whole went out of fashion in Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire for the most part and didn't come back until after the medieval period for a variety of reasons, so it's not unreasonable to have the interesting stuff without a permanent force.

Fun fact: One of my favorite D&D supplement books is "Bastards & Bloodlines: A Guidebook To Half-Breeds"
so why do i bring this up? well on my walk to work i was thinking about Rush's Orcs and their interaction with the other races, then my mind began to wander towards on how two different race's offspring looks likes only did the Orc+Dark-Elf because those where what originally gave me the idea (Also i recently watched the Shoddycast's Skyrim storyteller latest episode which dealt with half-breeds(so much like the half-breeds in elder scroll the offspring appearance is heavily influenced by the mother's race however there noticeable differences)

Dark Elf + Orc
Believe it or not it's not to uncommon for an Orc to take interest in a Dark-elf (Or vice versa) Thanks to Orc Culture heavily revolving around Strength, Hunting and just all around killing same goes for the culture of Dark-Elves which holds the same ideals in high regard but for different reasons (For the Dark-Elves it "Survival Of The Tribe" but for the orc "Its The Strong Who Win")

(Orc Dark elf offspring's are usually refereed to as Grey-Orcs)
As it makes quite the difference in which race is the mother i will be giving quick descriptions of both combinations
Dark Elf Father + Orc Mother
-Grey skin
-Larger Teeth
-Bright Green Eyes
-Faster growth of hair
-Taller
Dark Elf Mother + Orc Father
-Greenish Grey skin
-Larger Teeth
-Much more muscular

Honestly, my thought on the grey orcs--and interspecies hybrids in general--is 'scrap the lot'. They never really made sense the way they get presented, and making everything so closely related that anything can make babies with anything is just... eh. Only times I've ever liked it in D&D, really, are things like half-dragons. Because they're ridiculously magical and can shapeshift.

Think I mentioned that I don't like the origins. Because it's just... weird. It isn't a race suggestion, it's also cosmology, setting backstory, decides the divine. It overreaches beyond a forgotten race to the point of just being... confusing? Seems better to not stick everything in concrete terms when it removes later options.

And I still have no idea what the Soul Contract thing actually entails, only that the random language mixing is a bit odd. And that it comes out looking like Latin for some reason. @_@

----

Seeing as I wrote a lot on three of the others, I am not sure I should say anything on them. Also still in favour of tiny desert people and four-fingered steppe nomads. :P

Um, well, obviously support my own ideas... Supporting Dark Elves, Humans, Ky-Ree, Mammoths... Orcs Need Improvement, not sure about Chupacabras, don't really get Origins(leaning to no) or Soul Contract... Scrap the Grey Orcs. ^^;

Also not really sure where the impression that Dark Elves were tribal came from since they're seeming kind of like... Heavily Elfy Nordic-ish?

Marduk orcs can't reproduce sexually due to the fact that they are genderless and have no reproductive organs.

I honestly find that to be stupid

EDIT: Okay maybe that bit harsh from me but i do find it to be it to similar to the Orks (or because i really want to have lady orcs(Who say pointy ears and hotness only belongs to the elfs)

I refereed to them as a tribe because vikings lived as tribes or clans

I think similar to the orks is intended (and I don't recall much mention of female orcs in normal Warhammer either... though they might just be absent). As for pointy ears and hotness: indeed, it can also belong to various fey. Orcs, however, are characterised by very much not being hot. :P

Though hey, they could still asexually reproduce somehow. Or display even less sexual dimorphism than dwarves.

@Raineh Daze actually just as i saw your reply i got the idea that our Orc do have genders but don't have a concept of gender, instead it all about strength so in an Orc relationship the weaker one is considered the "woman" or bitch if that's preferable. (I also got the idea that Orc were like seahorses(but quickly scrapped that idea in favor of both the male and female being able to bare children (which would play into the weaker one being The Bitch in the relationship)

@BillsomethingI... Don't like that idea. At all. ^^; I'm not entirely sure what's wrong with monogendered orcs anyways, but hey, I grew up with the two Warhammers so yeah. Also if you want pointy eared ladies who are not elves and not monstrous then there's always my Ky-Ree (they're even green! What more could you ask for?) that people should be voting on but Joe hasn't added them to the list yet despite me dropping that link. :\

@Raineh DazeThere were female orcs in the earliest editions of Warhammer, actually, but they were only vaguely alluded to and got phased out pretty quickly. Once 40k came along they were dropped completely, and eventually Gorkamorka gave us the spore-reproducing orcs/orks we all know and love.

Anyways will vote later. Need to clear my head of stuff right now.
