Even in the darkest, dirtiest places on earth you will find that light exists, in faint glimmers of hope, brief camaraderies, and fleeting moments of happiness. Which is a good thing, considering that this is a pretty damn dark place...

Welcome!
To the underbelly of Los Angeles, home to the so-called scum of human society. Here in the dark alleys and shady backstreets you will meet many interesting characters, including, (but not limited to): runaways, drug addicts, black market dealers, prostitutes, local vagabonds, homeless people, gang members, aging transvestites, drunkards, insane hermits, sketchy loan sharks, and couple people who are really down on their luck. Even though they are looked down upon by the rest of the world, these outcasts and misfits exist in small communities of their own and do their best to make due. Beneath the chipping paint, rusting metal, and graffiti covered walls, a few glimmering gems of happiness exist for them.

This is a character-centric roleplay about the life and times of a few peculiar people living in the shady part of modern day Los Angeles. The story will focus on their situations and how they interact with each other during their day to day lives. This is meant to be a mostly lighthearted roleplay, but a bit of drama and tearjerking is always welcome~

Ah yay! I'm glad that some people are actually interested! ^.^

I'm actually from LA, and though I'm not from a place where that comes up very often (or I'm just blind to see any of it), I would like to do my city proud by joining. Or at least trying to apply, I'm pretty lazy today.

Name: Vince Rike

Age: 28

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 103.4 lbs

Occupation: Homeless, Robber

Personality: He's a pretty nice guy, but he'll do anything to get a decent meal or shelter if he's desperate enough. He's very analytical and can take things way too seriously, but he'll crack a joke or two if he's in one if his rare good moods. He'll do anything to protect what few friends he has.

Bio: Life was good. Vince had everything he could ask for. A wonderful job, a beautiful wife, and he was expecting a baby boy. But things began to turn for the worse.

Vince was returning home from work when his phone suddenly rang. He answered with a nonchalant, "Hello?"

"Vince? It's your brother, Greg. You need to come to the hospital. Now. Your wife is going into labor!" came the worried voice.

Vince paled and swore under his breath. "Don't worry! I'll be there soon!"

He drove hurriedly to the hospital. When he burst through the doors of the waiting room, he was met with grim faces.

"My wife...is she okay? What about the baby?" he asked nervously.

Greg stood and slowly walked over. "...I'm sorry. The doctors did their best. Something went terribly wrong..."

Vince paled. "Please...don't tell me..."

"I'm sorry, but both of them didn't survive."

Things went completely downhill after that. Vince lost his job and house, Greg and his father had gotten into a car accident and died, and his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Everything fell apart in the following years so quickly.

Vince now roams the city, staying temporarily in whatever shelter he can find and trying desperately to survive.

Other: He's wanted by the police.

Ahh, a Los Angeles native~ How exciting! ^.^ You'll have to forgive me for knowing next to nothing about the city! I really only chose the location because I know the underground is huge, and that L.A. is a really cool place. ^.^"

Oh, RC Master, thanks for being the first to submit a character sheet! I really like it~ I'm excited to see what everyone else will come up with now! >w<

Cherry, are you putting limits on the amount of characters one player can have? And if so, how many?

Star- As a general rule of thumb, I usually say that everyone is allowed one character to start with, and if you show that you're going to stick around and not disappear after a day or two, then you can have another character. ^.^
If you mean two characters like a pair of twins or siblings, where they operate together a lot... I generally am not really a fan of that kind of thing, but I'll allow it if you're nice about it. (I once was in a roleplay with three sets of godmodding twins, Three! >.<)
