Boreal Dusk

Of course, the yellow and black colored pony who I came to dislike singled me out once again, this time on somewhat grounded claims, although I maintained my facade throughout his barrage of verbal attacks. My face a stoic expression as I made sure to look away, I then noticed his monologue had attracted some attention from a few ponies around us, who were obviously drawn in by the use of some rather choice words. Just great! I thought Now I'll have to deal with these ponies constantly checking their flanks. However, to both my surprise and confusion, the unicorn singling me out immediately acted as though no harm was done, proceeding to give me a warm welcome. Although this somewhat mended my past qualms, I was now more suspicious of him than ever. To see him change his opinion on me so suddenly worried me, to say the least. This warm welcome was preceded by a rather maniacal laugh, as well as what I could assume to be a slap on the back, but it felt more as though he gave me a rather enthusiastic pat. To add to my troubles, he added a thinly veiled threat of blowing me up if I got on his wrong side, but I there would be no way he could carry out such plans.

I had also noticed that Sound Chance and that mare he was conversing with last night. It was rather obvious they had averted a more complex relationship in favor of building one based almost solely off of sex, judging by how they seemed rather intimate with each other, at least by how the mare was very accepting of Sound's nuzzles. Although they didn't stay near the caravan long, obviously preferring to take their love to an establishment nearby.

I then noticed the hulking, metal armored pony from last night conversing with that . . . 'thing', before the metal armored one breaking off to annoy that demolition pony from before in a manner very similar to how I was dealt with. It was amusing, but it also clued me in that these two ponies were queer. Good to know I thought mo myself, before noticing a peculiar pony making a mad dash for the caravan. I had noticed that the clothes he was wearing mentioned something about some Reaper, although I couldn't make out the full text. What was even stranger was that he seemed to be carrying only booze, meat, and explosives, from what I could see. Immediately, my suspicions were now directed at this white coated pony. Although all I could do now was play the waiting game.

Sound watched the tension and concern begin to leave her body as she calmed down feeling comforted by his words. Spark smiled warmly at him and it made his heart flutter a little. They sat staring into eachothers eyes for a while and just as Sound was about to go in for the kiss she turned her head away to his disappointment. Although it did cause him to chuckle to himself a little as he leaned back in his seat.

Sound went ahead and flipped open his menu and began browsing the selection, he might as well given that they only had somewhere around 30-40 min before they had to head back. Spark spurted out an apology and pretty much saying that she was rambling. Sound smiled and shook his head as he chuckled again. “Sparks, one thing you should know about me, is that if I didn’t want to come, I wouldn’t have come. You didn’t drag me out anywhere and frankly im flattered that you already trust me enough to confide in me your concerns. I like listening to you talk, your so quite that its like a little treat eeverytime you speak.”

Sounds hoof reached across the table to hers and layed his hoof on top of hers and sighed. “As for the wastes… its not a kind place, for those that were forced to live out in it you needed to be really strong, really smart, or really lucky. I’m one of the lucky ones. There are all sorts of dangers out there that can pop out of seemingly nowhere, even tiny things can turn deadly. Although for all the bad there is in the waste, I could never stay away from it, there is so much wonder and mystery out there. Places that no pony has been in hundreds of years. All sorts of discoveries just waiting to be uncovered or rediscovered. It’s just as much a wondorous world as it is a dangerous one… Although I cant really claim the same thing for the city of Detrot, apparently it hasn’t changed even before the war.So does that answer your question?” He gave her forehoof a light squeeze and a warm smile.

______________________________________________________________________

Thunder stopped upon hearing Breaker’s heavy hoof falls approaching and his devious grin was replaced with a more dopey one. He had a thing for big stallions, a soft spot if you will although considering it is a tad ironic. He laughed at the nickname thunder buns and kinda liked it. As Breaker came in to swat at thunder’s flank he actually leaned back into it a little and let out a little growl as he swatted Breaker back with his tail. Although it looked a little awkward as Thunder nearly fell over upon being smacked in the rump. The smack did remind him of something though.

Thunder turned back around to face Boreal to make his final statement. “You obviously don’t speak much, but you are not a pony of few words. Your practiced mask of stoic silence only tells me more of what you are thinking. Your, intelligent and perceptive but so much so it has become your vanity and you believe yourself above every other pony. I have no problem with this and you can continue to think that if it helps you sleep at night. However, just do yourself a favor and do not be rude. I simply cannot stand rude ponies and your automatic disdain for others has already put you on my bad side. You take care now. “ Thunder turned back around and limped over in the direction of the pony that wore a reaper shirt. The reapers have been a subject of interest to thunder as of late and wished to know more about them.

Spark listened intently as Sound described the outside world. For once it wasn't all the usual doom and gloom that traders always talked about. She had only ever really thought of the wasteland as a place of misery and death, never really as a place ponies had once lived. It was silly really, especially as there was an abandoned city just over the bridge.
She nodded as he finished and returned to looking out over the view, enjoying the sensation of his hoof over hers.

The momentary silence was at last broken by somepony clearing their throat beside them.

"Not interrupting am I?" Asked the small, skinny stallion who had brought over the menus.

"Oh... No' Spark replied taking her hoof back and picking up the menu before her. She browsed it quickly despite already knowing what she planned to have.

"I'll have..."

"The Paradise Soup Special?" The skinny pony finished for her.

She nodded with a pleased expression.

He grinned turning to Sound "Same thing she always has. Now what can I get for you?"

Sound was enjoying the scenery along with Spark, happy that she was comfortable enough with him that he could hold her hoof without her shying away. That is until the server returned and she pulled back. Sound huffed a little as he was a bit annoyed by this but nonetheless he kept his cool. Upon the server addressing him, Sound took another glance over the menu looking slightly perturbed. "I'm gonna be honest, I don't really know what any of this is.... so I'll just have whatever she's having." He smiled and handed off the menu before turning back to Spark's.

Sound grinned and crossed his forelegs as he looked at Spark. "You know... We're gonna have to do something about this shyness of yours. You want to avoid showing fear in the wastes as much as possible, as it makes you look like an easier target. While i did swear that i would protect you, I'm nowhere near skilled enough to claim that i can protect you from everything, do not rely solely on others for support. I cannot protect you unless you are just as willing to protect yourself. Do you understand?"

Spark pulled a face unsure exactly how to respond. She didn't exactly try to be shy, it was just a feeling she got being around ponies she didn't know to well. She'd already taken quite a leap talking to Sound considering they'd only met the previous evening...

"I... I don't know how..." She replied with a worried look, "But if you think I need to learn then I'll try my best"

Spark couldn't quite hide the reluctance in her voice. She knew that she would likely have to defend herself sometime but all the same... she had spent her life helping ponies not hurting them.

Her chain of thought was interrupted by the arrival of their meals. A bowl of soup filled with delicious looking, fresh vegetables was placed before each of them and sided with a plate of salad. Spark had to resist the sudden urge to squee at the sight suddenly realising just how hungry she was. She had no idea where the food came from and Cook refused to give up the secret and simply told her "paradise" hence the name.

Not wanting to seem rude by eating during their conversation, Spark looked to Sound to see what he thought of the food and if he had anything else to say. They'd have to eat pretty fast, the caravan would be leaving soon and they had to eat and walk back to the meeting point.

Sound chuckled embarrassedly, scratching at the back of his neck. "I didn't mean you needed to change completely, i like you the way you are and this is fine when around ponies you trust... but like i was saying, when your in the wastes and dealing with ponies you have never met before, you have to show a bit of strength in your voice, in a way that tells them that they can't just take advantage of you. That you can and will fight back. Anyways it won't happen all at once and we'll steadily work on it, you just need to know how to demand respect from the other ponies just through tone of voice. Do you understand better?"

It was just then that their food arrived and was placed before them. Sound's eyes widened a bit as he made a show of taking in the smell excitedly. "Oh, wow! It smells so good! and its all fancy and stuff!" Sound immediately grabbed the bowl and started drinking it down only to just as quickly put it back down. "Ow! Shit! burned my mouth. Damn it. Its so good though!" Sound turned his attention on the salad as he wanted the soup to cool off a little and went down on the salad. Eating with a voracious appetite.

Happy that Sound was impressed by the food, Spark levitated over a few vegetables and slowly set to work eating her salad. She couldn’t help but laugh a little when the stallion burned his mouth on the soup. Experience had taught her to eat the salad first and leave the soup to cool down. While Sound was wolfing his food down, Spark was taking the time to enjoy the taste. By the time she had finished her salad Sound had finished everything. Somewhat surprised by his impressive… though somewhat messy eating speed, Spark made an effort to speed up.

At last they had both finished their meals and Spark couldn’t help but stifle a yawn. She was starting to feel the tiredness from the night before more than ever thanks to the warmth of the room. Resting her head on a forehoof she glanced at the pipbuck on the other. With a surprised squeak she realized they were going to be late if they didn’t leave now!

“We need to be a the meeting point!” She exclaimed.

Spark stepped off the chair, pulling out the caps to pay for their meal and levitating the bowls and plates off the table, She deposited them on the kitchen counter along with the caps for both their meals and quickly made her way out the door calling her thanks to Big Cook as she did so.

“We better hurry!” Spark panicked “Oh, I hope they don’t think we took the money and left”

She broke into a quick trot towards the caravans meeting point.

Sound watched her eat with a mild blush on his face, a bit embarrassed about his eating style compared to hers. Only realizing how messy he was when he saw how slow sparks was eating. When she finally finished, Sound was just about to offer to pay the bill when she suddenly realized the time and ran over and threw her bits on the counter and trotted out. Sound face hoofed and finally got up from his seat and then readied himself in a sprinting position. Sound then took off in a full sprint after Spark, and he was wearing a big grin on his face. When he caught up to sparks he ran a little in front of her and then suddenly made a sliding 45 degree turn while ducking low at the same time. Doing something that looked almost like a pit maneuver, Sound ducked underneath her belly and lifted her up and onto his back. "Hey Spark! Hold on!" Sound turned again and sprinted to the meeting place with Spark in tow.

Upon reaching the meeting place with 5 minutes to spare, Sound went ahead and lowered himself to the ground so Spark could get off of him. "Thank you for riding Chance's Taxi Services, your first ride is complimentery and we hope you enjoyed the ride." It looked like the whole gang was here, including a new face; some dark looking fellow that the singing unicorn from last night was talkin to. Sound actually felt kinda bad for doing that out of nowhere, he knew she must have felt uncomfortable with it thinking back. So Sound went to nuzzle and hug her apologetically. "You know i was supposed to pay for you."

Spark was surprised when Sound sprinted past her but a little grin crossed her face. So it was a race? She lowered her own head slightly and was just about to break into a full on gallop when Sound spun and hooked her onto his back. She couldn’t help letting out a little yelp of surprise as she suddenly found herself being carried. It wasn’t the most graceful or comfortable way to travel, she could feel the impact of Sounds hooves on the ground with each step the Stallion took.

When they finally arrived, she slid off with a little groan of discomfort… That was not her preferred way to get around. With a quick glance around she noticed a few of the caravaners were giving the pair of them glances and her face quickly reddened in embarrassment. Sound seemed to sense that he’d made a mistake and gave her a nuzzle and hug which she accepted a little reluctantly. It wasn’t that she was annoyed with him, well she was a slightly, but it was more that she worried what the others would think of them.

“It’s fine” she murmured at last “I chose where we were going to eat, it was only fair that I paid”

She continued to watch the other caravaners warily but most of them had gone back to their own business and were now ignoring them. She did recognize the large stallion and the thestral from the tavern as well as the blue unicorn and the guitar playing pony from the night before. It didn’t look like they were quite ready to leave yet so at least they hadn’t been holding the caravan up.

“What should we do now?” She asked Sound feeling unsure.

Once time rolled on to about 5 before 10, The Caravan altered their position away from 'out of the way' and moved on to line up along the central path that was blocked by a raised Bridge, with several smaller Pack Brahmin caravans along the sides.

___________________

Said currently unnammed Reaper took notice of Thunder approaching, though he gave no noticeable hint to this until the unicorn got closer, where he shifting from sitting to laying down on that corner of the Carriage and casting a Mildly deadpan expression his way, only broken by a slightly raised eyebrow "You know, you're the first one to 'willingly' encounter me since I got here, much less approach me yourself... I might be surprised if Big Daddy hadn't already appraised me of our 'associates' incase I ran into them while I'm 'abroad'... Thunder Struck right?"

___________________

Breaker and Symphony didn't have much to do while waiting... Breaker chose to conserve his bits and just wait, though Symphony got an extra 'meat-kabob' from one of the Caravaneers, which he took his time cleaning off this time... one of the other guards had been giving him 'looks', so he made a bit of a show of 'savoring' the meat just to put him off, snickering madly when he quickly looked away and seemed to be growing agitated suddenly.

Of course, he perked up and waved cheerfully to Sound and Spark as they came Sprinting back 'just in time'.

____________________

Moment later the pair of businessponies rose up on the top of the rear carriage, giving off sharp whistles for attention, that didn't seem to phase the reaper away from the little conversation.

"Alright every'one', we're getting ready to move out, so hurry and get yourselves situated!"
"we'll be taking a pretty straight forward path to Tenpony tower, since it's fairly nearby we shouldn't have to worry about 'much' happening before we arrive, but for those who haven't been out in the actual 'city' much, Here's some fair warning for you."
"Though the distance is short, The Caravan 'is' quite large, and there's a fair chance that we'll draw the attention of some Raiders along the way."
"Slaver's are extremely unlikely though, they can't be foolish enough to think it'll pay off to attack us... unless it's red-eye's... In which case, you'll know, they're the only slavers with a surpluss of griffons."
"That aside, the only other potential threats we are likely to encounter should be ghouls, or an occasional Manticore."
"That said, it pays to keep your guard up, If you actually see something suspicious, don't hesitate to make it known, better you annoy with a false alarm than miss the change to warn against an actual attack."
"Now then, the 'senior guards' on this trip are... Mr. Crush."

A certain one of the metal armored ponies in the front, an especially large home-made looking sledgehammer strapped to his back, waved a hoof with a gleeful grin.

"Steel Splinter"

The large Stallion with the Launchers gave a snort a single wave.

"And Green-eye"

One of the Combat Armored guards in the back with a particularly nasty looking Snipe rifle gave a wave... oddly enough, his left eye seemed to be missing and in it's place was a smoothed round emerald that was probably his name-sake.

"If one of them tells you to get down, you should listen, it'll most likely mean something 'they' think is dangerous is coming, and this should be taken seriously."
"As usual, the 4th Carriage has the surplus boxes of supplies, medical, surplus ammo, cheap food, they are in the white boxes, 'only' the white boxes. use them only as needed."
"Once we get going, we won't be slowing down for anything, unless of course the way gets blocked."
"and we won't stop if you start falling behind, sounds a bit cold but it's vital."
"It's going to take some time to get to Tenpony, and we will 'not' be caught in the open at night."
"Exactly, we've got plenty of guns, but it's still better to avoid the Nocturnal blood wing swarms."
"Now everyone get ready, we'll be properly leaving shortly."

The sounds of grinding metal could already be heard as Friendship city's connecting bridge began to lower to allow them to leave the city, and beyond the bridge and walls it was all too obvious the state the city was in, though there was no immediately visible threats about, yet.

[Just as a fun little note, feel free to make up names for the other guards, as well as 'notice things' as we're traveling. If you've got something particularly 'exciting' in mind, feel free to run it by someone to see if they like it too, doesn't necessarily 'have' to be me, I like surprises too and it oughta be fun either way =3]

Sound listened to the two business ponies debrief the entire caravan of what they will be doing on this trip and such. At the same time he went ahead and scanned over the all the carriages and the various caravans, soon enough spotting Midnight waving to them. He also took mental note of all the given senior guards that were being named off. Each of them showing some trait of being one of those bad asses of the wastes. Upon the ponies finishing the speech Sound turned back to face Sparks. “Im going to join Symphony over at the carriages, your of course welcome to join us, but I noticed that you aren’t armed, so I don’t know if you wanted to go to the passenger carriage or not. Which, by the way, we need to get you a gun, for now though I want you to take my knife. Once we get you a more suitable weapon you can give it back, this isn’t a request the wastes are dangerous and for my own piece of mind I need to know you can defend yourself at all times.”

Sound used his teeth to unbuckle the straps from his foreleg and remove the combat knife from his leg. He then grabbed Sparks foreleg and quickly strapped the blade sheath tightly to her leg. “I know it’s a bit tight but flex a few times and it should loosen a little, it needs to be pretty tight though, for one to make sure it doesn’t fall off and two if the sheath is too loose on either end it may bend and make drawing the blade difficult. Theres a clasp that fits around the teeth card for when the blade is sheathed to make sure it doesn’t fall out while walking or running.”

Sound kissed her fore head as he made for a quick hug again. “I said I would protect you, and so I will even if im not physically there. Next stop we make I’ll teach you the basics of using a blade okay. I’m gonna head down and talk to Symphony now alright? Do you want to come with me or do you want to join the others in the armored carriage? Its up to you but the carriage will be safer just so you know.” Sound waited for her decision before he trotted off to his other newly acquired friend.
Still weak from the night before, Thunder sorta clumsily lifted himself up onto the carriage next to the Reaper right after he gave a quick bow of recognition. “Yes, well, I’m no normal pony and one of the benefits of being a pony like me is that there is nothing left in this world that can intimidate me. Don’t misunderstand though, my combat skills are negligeable and I do not consider myself any more powerful than the majority of the weaker ponies here. However, certain circumstances have made me… immune to most natural fears. Anyways, very astute of you, is it my reputation that precedes me this day or just a name on a list?”

Thunder went ahead and laid down behind the reaper setting his equipment to the side of him and closing his eyes. Though he had not begun napping yet as he continued to talk to the black pony. “The Reapers have been a group that has peeked my curiosity for some time now. I wish to learn more about them so I may enlighten myself on how the Reaper society may benefit me in some way and how I may be of use in return. While yes I did say my combative skills are negligible, my skills do not reside in those areas and I can be quite dangerous to those who cross me in my own unique way. However, before all that, I believe I am due for a name or title if your that kind of pony in which I may refer to you as it is clear you have already discovered my own by your own terms.” Thunder opened one eye and began looking the Reaper over as if to be appraising him, as well as checking him out a little. He may be small but maybe he was packing some big surprises. If not then, too bad, he still had the crystal pony to return to if he was in the mood, that pony had proven to be of high value to Thunder and wished to keep him for a while.

Spark found the idea of carrying a gun unsettling, she was reluctant enough to have the knife attached to her leg. It felt strange strapped there, her right leg always held her pipbuck while her left was usually free. Having them both covered felt...odd but she appreciated the gesture from Sound.

Spark wrapped her hooves tightly around him before he left.
"Thank you so much, for everything Sound. I'm glad there's at least somepony nice I can talk to. I'm going to sit in the passenger cart, for a while at least... I'm tired and I'd like to get some sleep" she glanced around at the other guards before adding with a small smile. "Look after yourself too. I don't want to have to patch you up because of something silly"

As Sound trotted off, she felt a small tug to follow him but fought against it. It would be best to get some proper sleep incase something happened and they needed her.

With a soft sigh, Spark turned towards the passenger cart and looked at the ponies sat onboard. She didn't recognised any of them but she spotted the guitarist from the night before talking to somepony she didn't recognise on the cart behind. Maybe he'd play some music? She hoped he would, it would be a nice distraction and she'd enjoyed it the night before.
Everypony else was sat talking amongst themselves quietly. A little hesitantly she climbed onboard taking up an empty space and deposited her bags in front of her. With Sound gone, she drew her hood up again and sat silently waiting for the caravan to leave.

Of course the yellow-black unicorn had to have the last laugh. Just when I thought I managed to get on his good side, out of no-where he trots up to me and begins accusing me of even more bullshit. Making all these accusations that he had no justifications on making only made him look like an even bigger chump, coupled with the fact that I didn't even know who he was. His mocking tone of voice while he addressed me and his constant grin only solidified the need for a vendetta against him, but that would have gone against my better judgement, I didn't need to stoop to his level.

Of course, he made his way to one of the carriages, obviously to make 'friends' with the Reaper that was near it. I should have guessed he was a non-combatant. He could dish it out, but he couldn't take it, what a ponce he was.

However, soon the two organizers made sure to give a speech giving everyone an understanding on what we would be up against. It caught my attention when they mentioned the more senior guards. I figured I should avoid Green Eye, as he probably wouldn't take too kindly to another marksman stealing his kills. That and his weird eye prosthetic was rather creepy.

Soon, their speech ended, and I made my way to the second carriage in the front, near the senior guard with the launcher, Steel Splinter. He probably wouldn't ask too many questions, at least, not to me. Looking back, I noticed many ponies I had seen the previous night. I just hoped they didn't remember me much.

It would only be a few moments, after the Bridge finished lowering and connecting the city to the ruin, before the caravan started moving, sound of smoothly turning wheels, strong hooves clacking the ground as they pull the weight, and very quiet hum from the 2 larger Metal Carriages.

Once the Caravan clanked it's way across the metallic bridge, back onto stone and dirt, Most of the guards got busy 'looking attentive' and observing the area around them. The Caravan kept a good pace, though slightly tamed so that nopony would fall behind from not being fast enough to change Cars.

It was Sparse, but already a guard here or there would occasionally whistle and 'aim' to call attention to potential threat he saw... It was a typical occurance though, for a caravan of this size to attract attention as though there were blowing a fog-horn saying 'we're hauling lots of valuable stuff! but at this point they were few in number and not crazy enough to charge into certain death, yet, but every whistle was a reminder that they were very noticeable out here.

Music, while not forbidden, was usually preffered to be kept down... entertaining the group can be healthy, but playing full volume is more likely to attract, or awake, something not worth a fun little tune... keeping this in mind of course, Symphony began singing, it was fairly quiet, Audible to the caravan if just barely, a slow and 'smooth' song to start with, to set a calm mood.

Behind them the sight of Friendship city drawing farther into the distance, ever growing walls of ruined buildings filling the space between the Caravan and the city, it was a sight that could wear on the mind if one stared for too long and wasn't already used to such a sight of worse... The the Caravan took a turn, and like that they were completely surrounded by the leftovers of the original wrecked city, 'safe places' gone from sight, the sight of ruin in every direction and the sickly reek of a decaying world filling the air.

The great drawbridge of Friendship City lowered before Spark revealing the crumbling remains of the once impressive Manehatten. The giant, grey, monolith like sky scrapers rose into the sky separated only by the shadowy streets running between them.
Spark felt the cart she was in begin to move with a jerk. The sudden movement alone caused her to squeak in surprise as she stared wide eyed at the concrete jungle before her. It was like a giant beast, drawing her towards it and the maze of streets it’s maw ready to swallow her up never to be seen again. For a moment she felt the urge to jump from the cart and run back to the safety of the clinic. As it drew nearer and nearer the now open gate the urge only grew.

Around her, the other ponies on the cart began to give her strange looks as she grew increasingly nervous. Their stares did little to quell the panic building up inside her and she instead clamped her eyes shut shutting out the world all together. Breathing deeply she focused on the other sounds around her, the sound of talking, the quiet lapping of the water and ripple of the wind on her cloak. At last the panic subsided somewhat and she let out a final shaky breath before opening her eyes again.

The Friendship City drawbridge was behind them now, already being raised up to seal itself once more from the dangerous world outside. A world Spark now found herself in. She peered up at the buildings that now towered above her in equal parts fear and wonder. It didn’t seem possible that this place had been built by ponies!

Still trying to keep herself distracted from thoughts of the many dangers around her, Spark tried to spot Sound but couldn’t make him out amongst the other watchful guards that surrounded them. With a whine, she again turned back to Friendship City. The home she’d known for so long was gradually disappearing from view behind the dilapidated shells of burnt out, cracked buildings. She fought her way more upright to get one final glance at the torch before it became lost behind the taller buildings. At last, with a miserable sigh, Spark pulled her hood further over her face and hugged her saddlebags close to her.

By the time the Caravan was starting to roll out Thunder was just about ready to nod off to sleep. “Tis true, I am a narcissist. No denying the superiority complex that I hold over most pony’s I meet. However, unlike other narcissists, I’ve actually gone out of my way to make sure I know all my weaknesses and folly’s so I know just who to fuck and not to fuck. Both figuratively and literally that is. The fact remains though, that I’m a goddamned genius and no pony’s ever been able to outsmart me. Also, be aware that I’m not making any assumptions, I’m sure you reapers have your foals club top secret information, but the only thing I need to know is that you’re ‘government’ is run by power, the one who’s the strongest in the pack leads the rest. And those, ‘Onyx’ are the easiest to destabilize no matter how powerful the leader may be.” Thunder yawned and shoved the canteen back into his bag after Onyx had finished drinking. “And no there wasn’t any poison in there, I have no reason to kill you especially right now. In fact I was hoping we could be friends, or at least temporary allies if you must. Just cuz I said I could destroy the reaper foundation doesn’t mean I want to and if I did, that’s even more reason to keep you alive. When I wake up hoof me whatever weapons you got and I’ll see what I can do with them.”

Thunder listened to the sound of the caravan move across the bridge and the gates closing behind them. He had memorized their route and was mapping out where they were according to their current speed and where they might be when he wakes up. Taking in account of a speed reduction when entering the city. Thunder finally nodded off and only a soft snoozing sound could be heard from him as his breaths came in lightly. Even as the tension grew as the caravan made its way through the city. Thunder did maintain a half wakefulness, just in case something did go wrong he would be able to react quickly to it.

=====================================================================

Sound trotted over to meet with sound on the carriage he was currently residing on. Sound was honestly worried about Sparks, and feared she may suffer an anxiety attack as they left the city. However, he wouldn’t be helping her if he coddled her all the way through this, she needed to be self-reliant. If something were to go wrong on this trip and they were to get separated from the caravan, well she wouldn’t stand a chance if she couldn’t defend herself.

Sound dropped the face of worry and replaced it with excited joy as he felt there was no use for worrying right now. Sound jumped up onto the cart and plopped down next to Symphony with a big grin on his face. “How’s my musical bat doing? I see you got yourself some breakfast to your own liking. You know I never got you back for last night…” Sound suddenly leaned in and planted a heavy wet kiss right on Symphony’s cheek and then quickly drew back. “So, whats up? Do you know any of these other ponies, I mean I see the big guy from last night but you can spot him from a mile away.”

When the caravan reached the city, sound went ahead and drew his gun just as a precaution. He then began to sweep the high windows and rooftops with his eyes in order to watch for snipers. Sound wasn’t to concerned about it though as this was just a precautionary habit he picked up for whenever he was in cities. Symphonies music however was quite soothing and made him a bit tired and it wasn’t long before sound took to resting up against symphony as he sang. Of course sound didn’t stop scanning the rooftops, he was just doing it a bit more lazily as he layed down and had sat his pistol in his lap.
