No sooner had she finished speaking that Adelisa and Jareth walked back into the room. A shadow of whatever she was feeling before vanished from Dela's face as soon as she locked eyes with Lila, being replaced for something similar to guilt. Had Lila's thoughts been so obvious? It was a trait of Delilah's to let her every emotion show clearly on her face, whenever it be bad or good, so it wouldn't come as news to her if she'd been as easy to read as a book.

To Lila's great suprise, Dela was brave enough to take the seat next to her. "Can I talk to you outside later?" Dela asked her gently.

Lila turned to face her, trying her hardest to make herself expressionless. "I plan to be on my way home later, so the sooner the better." She stood up and walked to the door, throwing the empty Starbucks cup in the trash and stopping at the doorway to give Adelisa a questioning look, hand on her hip.

Adelisa, eyes wide with hurt, followed Delilah out the door and shut it behind her. She honestly felt like vomiting right then and there. Probably from the anxiety she had while in hospitals and from the current drama. She noticed the expressionless look and the hasty yet dramatic tone in her voice. It was like she was not only done with this vacation, but also done with their friendship. She cleared her throat and said "you leaving will be the biggest mistake you ever make. We came here to create memories and stories that will last us a lifetime. You leaving just because a guy that you are no longer with is here doesn't mean it has to ruin the fun."

She looked down at her hands and continued "do you think I wanted Grant to be here at the beginning? No. Do I still want him here? No. But, for both of our sakes, we try to avoid eachother. You think you were the only two in love? Hell, I wanted to marry Grant! I wanted to change for him because I was so in love with him! You act like you're the only one who has ex issues! If you go, and Amelia is gone, then don't expect me to follow you back." She took a pause and sighed, wiping away tears she didn't know she had.

Dela looked into Lila's eyes and said "I need you to be here with me. Please just one more night and I can prove to you that it'll be an all girl's night. We can stay in and watch movies and order room service… I just hate how we're acting on this trip. This isn't us."

When Adelisa said that leaving the trip would be the biggest mistake she would ever make, Lila raised her eyebrows in skepticism. It sounded like Dela was threatening her, and that was one of the many things that made Lila angry. But before she could lash out instantly like she normally would, she applied the lessons she'd tried to learn in therapy and listened to all that she had to say instead. It would be her turn to talk afterwards.

The way Adelisa was talking made it seem like Delilah was a high school girl with an immature issue with her ex-boyfriend. If only she knew how deep the situation with her and Jar had been, and how she would never be able to ever forget what had scarred her so... But that was the point, right? She didn't know. No one else besides Jareth knew why it was so painful to remain in his presence for more than a few seconds. Maybe it was time to finally tell someone else, and maybe it would help her heal just a little of the gaping hole in her chest.

Lila looked at Adelisa with tears in her eyes, but took a few moments to gather up the courage to finally tell someone what had happened to her. "Dela... Remember the two months I was at that internship in another state? The one where I was completely unable to communicate with anyone? Well, the truth is it wasn't an internship. I was at a mental preserve that I checked myself into because..." Lila took a moment to calm the sobs that began to overwhelm her. "I lost a child. I was pregnant. I was having a little baby with Jareth, and though it was completely unplanned and unexpected and coming at the worst moment possible, I was so excited. I've never been so hopeful in all my life. I thought that maybe that was the sign that Jar and I could make all the shit in our relationship work for the sake of our baby, and that we would not only be a happy couple again, but be a happy family. But then the day before Valentine's Day happened; we broke up and the next thing I know I was waking up the next day cramping and bleeding and... My tiny little baby fell into my hands. And just like that, all my hopes for a future alongside the man I love and our perfect creation were gone..."

Lila completely broke down. "I had never felt so alone and worthless in my whole life. I couldn't make my relationship work, and I couldn't even keep my own child safe and alive." It was a long time until Lila managed to calm down, and when she did, she spoke with little breaks in her voice. "Jar is much more than an ex-boyfriend to me. He was the father of my angel baby, even
if it was just for those eight weeks that it lived in my womb and he had no idea about it. This is why it hurts so much to just be near him: he's a reminder of the future I couldn't and will never have. I thought that maybe by giving each other another chance we could make things work, but the old insecurities came back, and now we're once again two ex-lovers with too many painful memories shared between them."

Lila gave a deep sigh while wiping away her tear-stained face. "I will sacrifice myself only ONE more night, and this one night I will remain holed up in our condo. I will not risk being in his presence anymore, and will not be staying here any longer than that." She looked into Dela's eyes. "Please don't try to convince me otherwise. My heart can't take it."

Adelisa stood there, shock circulating through her veins. Baby? Her heart ripped in two and she wrapped her arms around Delilah. Adelisa wasn't much of a hugger, but she knew how much Delilah hurt just from the look in her eyes. Adelisa said softly "I'm sorry. I know this isn't what you asked for in life." She released her and wiped the stray tear. "I'm glad you opened up to me. I love you, sis."

She took a step back and leaned against the wall, a pang of guilt seeping through her being. Why would she feel guilty? She didn't kill Delilah's angel baby. She didn't force them to break up. Was it because she wasn't there for her? No, because she didn't know. What was it? Adelisa looked up at Delilah and smiled crookedly. "I can't ask you to stay, but is it possible that tonight we just talk? I feel like you and I aren't as close as we could be."

She felt her heart rip in two when she realized what she said. Adelisa and Delilah were two completely different personalities, but had so many similarities. Adelisa dated a guy that would be the masculine version of Delilah after all. Maybe they could get off their chest everything that they weren't telling the other. Or maybe, just maybe, Adelisa could finally tell her why she was so scared to introduce Grant to Delilah. It would've hurt her if Grant was even slightly interested in Delilah at the time. He was the love of her life.

There was that word again: was. They were in love. They were together. Hopefully tonight she could also settle her bitterness towards the past.

Jareth followed after Adelisa, heading back into the hospital room. He wasn’t sure how to feel about their little chat. Odd? Relieved? Curious? He definitely felt… odd. This vacation was supposed to be fun, but sadness was etched into the hollows under his cheekbones. He felt like shit, and he supposed he should. He’d pushed things too far with Delilah, too quickly, without thinking things through. Acting on impulse was about the only thing those two had in common, and the main reason they were so volatile as a couple. Surely everything wasn’t his fault? But maybe it was… Her parents were right, she deserved better than him, he could never be the father she’d want for their child. And now he never would be.

Plopping back down in the chair, Jar closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. Maybe if he thought hard enough, he could teleport himself back onto the beach, bare feet warm in the sand, alone, away from all of this. Looking up, he realized it was now Delilah’s turn for an Adelisa talk. Lord only knows what that would look like. For some reason, Jareth hoped that Lila wouldn’t tell her everything, but he wasn’t sure why that mattered to him.

So, now it was just the boys in the room. “I think today would have been a whole lot better if you guys had responded to my text about surfing. We should be doing more vacation things, we did pay a shit ton of money to be here. We should be flirting with women, not death.” He gave a pointed look to Hunter to go along with the jab. Jar looked to Grant now “What have you been up to? Haven’t seen you around much at all, catching some tail and not telling us?” The smirk was meant to be teasing and playful, but the grimness behind his eyes left it a little bit empty.

Grant stopped halfway out, turning to look at Jareth. Grant had to give it to the guy, he was really trying to keep this whole thing together. That or he just had it easier. He shrugged, a wry look on his face. "Yeah, the ladies just don't stop coming. Must I be so attractive?" He gave a half-hearted dramatic sigh, raising an eyebrow at Jar. He looked at Hunter. "I'm not gonna ask how you got yourself shot, but we do need to know how long till we can drag your dumb ass out of here." Grant had never had the chance to come to terms with the sight of Hunter kissing Addie, and although he wanted to forgive him, he wasn't quite sure he had just yet.

He leaned against the wall, tilting his head back and massaging his head with a sigh. "I've got to get back to school," he murmured, for the guys' benefit even though he hadn't directed it at them. The word vacation sounded like a joke about now. His thoughts drifted to Delilah. He'd had no idea about her baby, about her issues. He'd just thought of her as Addie's overprotective and bitchy friend, but all that? He hoped Addie could help her. Grant had no idea how to feel about the idea Addie was dealing with everyone's issues but her own.

Hunter felt like a total idiot, which would explain a lot of things. He almost flunked out of school, twice. He wasn't qualified to join the military because of his habit of trying to take action, and he wasn't an experienced enough mechanic to start working. School was really his only option. Though this week so far has proved to him a few things.

1) He had to stop drinking, he was making a lot of progress on that one.
2) Don't jump to conclusions, he had to think things out before he started taking action.
3) He had to make things right with out screwing things up.
4) He needed to control his emotions, they had been getting the better part of him most the week so far.

Hunter looked at his hand, his right hand was shaking bad. He was able to make it stop after a bit, he was still worried about a lot still. Then Jareth mentioned something about a text for surfing, Hunter was wondering how he could explain why he didn't receive the text with out sounding like a total dick. "I would like to mention, I haven't had a service plan on my phone in over a month. Was too expensive and I could just use the Dorm's phone most the time. Or the phone I have been working on hooking to my computer set." He normally didn't like to mention on things he was cutting back on, but this one seemed reasonable. "Now, as for death? I would like to say Death is great in bed so don't go judging yet." Hunter did a small laugh before stopping from the pain.

Grant looked at Hunter. "I'm not gonna ask how you got yourself shot, but we do need to know how long till we can drag your dumb ass out of here." He said to Hunter. Hunter wasn't sure what to say. He was going to keep the events to himself for as long as he could. Though he did think he could brighten he mood. "Let's go now!" Hunter attempted to get out of the medical bed, he was still in pain but he could get over it. "Let's just go, hang out at a bar or something in town, I'll buy and I promise I wont drink this time." He was going to try to promise, his will power also sucked. "Come on guys?" By this point he was standing, he was favoring one side over the other trying to keep pressure of his wound.

Hunter looked out the window to the room. "If we do it right... This could be like a spy movie, where we sneak out of a prison of some kind and ride off into the sunset." He started to trail off a little. "Drive off into the sunset, forget about this shitty world for a bit...."

Yeah, the ladies just don’t stop coming. Must I be so attractive?” Grant asked with a half-hearted dramatic sigh. Jar laughed a little “Yeah, must you?” he asked playfully. Grant went on to talk to, and chastise, Hunter. He then mentioned wanting to get back to school. Jar sighed, wondering if it would be possible to salvage this vacation at all at this point.

Hunter looked confused when Jareth mentioned the surfing text. He explained that his phone no longer had a service plan. Jar didn’t realize his friend had been cutting back, Hunter must have been putting his techie skills to work to keep in communication previously. And then Hunter’s mood switched as a new, probably bad, idea popped into his head. “Let’s just go…” Hunter began, and Jareth let him finish before giving him an incredulous look.

“You are one crazy bastard. And an idiot. You just got shot. I’m all for getting away to escape all this shit, but we are not helping you break out of a hospital before you’ve even started to heal.” Jar looked to the most mature one of the group. “I mean, we aren’t going to do that, right Grant?”

Hunter looked at Jareth trying to keep a look of authority, though he wasn't good at that at all. "Look, I'm going to be getting out. Now either you can help me so we all have an awesome vacation for what ever's left, or you can try to stop me. I'm game either way but do not expect me to sit around doing nothing for the rest of a vacation that I could barely afford in the first place." Hunter started working his way to the door with his head held high (As it could go). "If it makes you feel better I wont be driving, the El' Camino still has another day in the shop." He exited the door, ready to take on the world. And to avoid so many fees from the hospital.
