@tsukune
Thanks for the detailed response! From what I get, we seem to have a lot of freedom in this game, so I suppose I will just take things in the direction I was imagining a bit. It seems to be within the parameters. If you want greater details, I will PM you about it, but I wouldn't want to say in this public chat. I know I look forward to reading what other people post, so under the assumption others feel the same way I wouldn't want to spoil what I will be writing.

While I understand that we're not "reserving" characters, here are the people I'd be most interested in playing:

1) Cloud Strife (yes, someone had to choose this as their number one pick right? lol)

2) Tidus

3) Auron

I might also be interested in some villain roles. It is rather interesting as you say, for the reasons you say. In fact, there's a very good reason why most modern examples of amnesia as a major character point have the character in question being a "former" villain. There's a lot of drama to be had there. But until a decision comes down on that, I am more than content expressing a desire for one of these three.

I'm a little worried about my knowledge of FF in some cases. For these characters in particular, I've only played their main games (FFVII and FFX), and not their prequels/sequels (Crisis Core, X-2). So any character arc I develop would be based on how they are presented in those games alone. Still, I think I can be entertaining regardless.

I'm with you on the worriness about lore knowledge, 'cause noisy of my understanding of the series comes from the few main games that I've played and even then, it was quite a long ago, SI I might not be as sharp about a particular character as a hardcore fan.

On that matter, I was fancying Tidus too, though my first and foremost choice will be Agrias if none snags her when the OOC is open. Maybe even a romance between the two, who knows? After all,

If you are worried about a lack of knowlage, google the character's name. Theres a wiki site that has EVERYTHING about them.

Oh, I forgot about Auron, never played any of his games, but I would love to.

On that note, I am almost torn between Basch and Balthier. Balthier is a great character, and He has the best lines, such as:

Princess! No need to worry. I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.

Well to me there's a big difference between playing the games and reading a wiki. I'm not super worried about it though. Just slightly.

That's pretty much BEGGING to get a sword through the stomach right there. Then again, I don't really know what happens to Balthier, but I'd put money on him dying.

I wouldn't be extremely worried about it keeping everything crisp and exact, y'all. We've been given artistic license here, so if the story deviates no one can really say anything. Once the character you choose begins to act differently it's likely that everything will change from that point forward, and all you might have to learn is the big events that happened. Then again, since this "reclaiming their past selves" bit is based off of memory... maybe you could write it according to yours, as if your character's memory is a bit hazy and this is what they believed happened. Kinda like some Kingdom Hearts plot nonsense.

For example, and I'll say this because I've seen no one else show preference for Final Fantasy IX and on the fact that I'll strangle anyone who chooses my character until they cry uncle or pass out, I'm planning on stepping into the shoes of Freya Crescent starting from her introduction in Lindblum and exploring her story in more limelight, greater detail, and with different choices made. After I begin with her I would only need to know the really big events that happen with her (without spoiling anything, The Festival of the Hunt, Burmecia, Cleyra, Fratley, and the metaplot of FFIX). Dialogue? I don't really need to know. Specific events? Will unfold however I write them, because what she remembers could be different. Maybe they could be wrong, but they're what she remembers and so it's what plays out. Once a certain amount of things has changed, I'd be free to take the story in any direction I'd want, if that makes any sense.

@A Common Hero and also for anyone who have questions you don't wish everyone to see here:
Yes you can PM me to ask me more, but please tag the PM with 'Enigma FF' so I know it's about this RP. My inbox is super cluttered now...

@Crimson Raven
As Common Hero had said, the GMs don't wish to see a mere copy-pasting from the wiki into your CS for your character's canon backstory. We'll need to see if you're suitable playing the character(s) you chose and be assured that you have enough creative drive to weave your miniworld well.

For those concerned about being not too familiar with the lore, you can always refer to the wiki as Crimson had mentioned but only use it as a guide. We're not going Nazi on canon lore as this RP is also for you to develop your own original lore on top of known canon - we want to see how confident you are to assume the role you wish to play as. Of course, best if you know your stuff well enough to wow all of us how you're going to "mindrape" the character. ;)

Heh, he survives, and makes two other story appearances in other games.

Well, just in case anyone is thinking why this check is pushing past 3 pages worth of discussion and the OOC is still not up yet...

I hate to rush things unnecessarily and prefer to take things slow. I really want to make this game a success (even though it's my first ever group RP I GM here).

Also, this is a test to see who are those impatient speed-poster types that I'd need to watch out for. Heh.

I'm new around here, but I've always been a Final Fantasy fan (FFIX represent!) so this seems intriguing to me. Have a few characters in mind to choose between... though I should probably see if I can find those examples you're referencing to get a better idea of what you're looking to do.

No rush on my end. I average on posting on any one of my RPs roughly once a week, sometimes twice, sometimes once every two weeks depending on how work is slaying me. I'll be glad to tackle a project on my own pace with few dependencies for once, I think I'll enjoy the freedom. Collaboration is good with me sometimes (like a collectiveness of consciousnesses) and I'd be happy to link up with anyone if I reach a good point in my own little microworld (like travelling to a "new" district during the Festival of the Hunt or taking a detour in Gizamaluke's Grotto).

I thank @KoL and @Crimson Raven for your enthusiastic bumps. No worries, I'm not putting this up to let it die silently, but due to the ongoing haze problems in my region (long story; if anyone wants to know more just go google 'Indonesia haze' yourself), my progress is much slower than I intended. (And I'm still owing my 1x1 partners some posts! Oh noes.)

Anyway, just to update you guys that the list of characters available to choose from is more or less finalized. I might put up the OOC once I get green lights from the other GMs so that you all can start working on your CS, while the GMs will be working on a basic lore and system for you to use as a guide when building your miniworld in IC.

Dude. Enough with the bumps. Be patient, give the GM and Co-GMs time to iron things out, these things take time.

Hey. Sorry, didn't introduce myself to the thread earlier. I'm one of the co-GMs. It shouldn't be all too much longer. The GM has just been swamped with school the past few days and I was swamped with work, but we have most preparations for the OOC ready. So it should only be a few more days at most, I'd think. Thanks for being patient, guys.
