Howdy! Howdy! Hopefully this introduction finds you all well. I must admit, I fear that as someone well over 20, with a degree, and a full-time job, I may be the oddball up here. Yes, I'm of the "older set" who watched Star Wars: A New Hope at a drive in, and cut my teeth on Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. I hope this doesn't detract any interest. *look of concern* Honest, I did happily escape from a cubicle farm, and am now living the better life at a university.
As the handle says, I'm a Game Mistress (as opposed to Dungeon Master, or Game Master), and I've had the exceeding good fortune to both run regular table-top games for friends over the years, as well as one-shots at gaming and sci-fi/fantasy conventions. I've also written collaboratively over the years with some great folks, and have even seen one work become an e-book (though I still desperately want to re-work it).
Sufficed to say, I work full time (though I get a lot of down time), am married, have a school-aged kiddo, a dog, and two house-rabbits. We are not "normal" at all, being that we're the kind of folks who go to opening nights for Marvel and LOTR movies, are members in a "maker/hacker" group (think 3-D printers, etc. built from scratch), and *gasp* I've given a bulk of my Star Wars stuff to my kiddo to play with; I didn't collect for money, I collected because I liked something.
So, as I said, I like fantasy stories and role-playing games, adore Sir Terry Pratchett's work, as well as Neil Gaman's writings. I've been a fan of Doctor Who since Tom Baker, and I'm thrilled that all sorts of fandoms are up and running on Tumblr (I remember when all we had was typed newsletters and fanzines). I like anime, though I'm far from current on it due to just sheer lack of time to watch the stuff (if it's not Studio Ghibli, or Ghost in the Shell, I probably haven't seen it).
And I just write.
(good to meet you all!)
