My school received a shooting threat today.

Basically, this guy asked the cheerleaders for nudes and got rejected, so he texted this other person saying no girls like him and he's gonna kill them all with a 12 gauge and a 9 mil. He also says he's gonna do it on Friday at 9:30am. The person he was texting uploaded the photo onto twitter, so the school will be in lock down for the next 3 days. Now, I dunno if he's actually gonna do it or what, but he just gave half the school a valid reason not to come. Personally, if my mom or dad says I'm going anyway, I'll go. I'm a dude so you'd think I have nothing to worry about but at this point with all the police working to find him and protecting the school, if he's gonna do it at all he'll probably just fire at random.

Why do people get angry enough to kill people when they're not getting attention from their preferred audience? It makes me upset. Like whether or not this guy would have done it (or will do something like it in the future), this exact kind of shit has happened before.

Only in certain states. It's protected under free speech elsewhere. I know California criminalizes death threats but I'm not sure what other states specifically have laws against it.

When I was growing up, a kid at my high school pulled a knife on someone. He was expelled and had to write an apology letter to a number of people involved, and was assigned community service, but I always thought it should have been more harsh.

We had a lock-down at my High School once. We were in the Catholic system, and the public High School across the way had some kind of incident where drug paraphernalia (almost definitely a bong) was found in a kid's locker. That was apparently enough to have us stay locked in our classrooms for an extra two hours before we were dismissed.

Same sort of thing happened again later in the year, but after school hours, when we were supposed to be hosting a film festival. There was an assault or something at the public school, so I ended up locked in the chapel for a few hours with all of the other people who were volunteering in the festival. At one point the police escorted us to the teacher's lounge so we could binge on the snacks they had locked away in there.

And besides that, there are free nudes all over the internet. Not like there is some strict economy of nudes going on or anything.

It is, but I don't know if they've found him yet, my friend just told me it's been "resolved" but I dunno what that means.

The rest of us have got by for years with finding porn stars that look somewhat like people we are attracted to.

It's one of the most important lessons in life. You can't always get what you want, but if you try some times you just might find you get what you need.

But yeah, we had a bomb threat at our school once. Except I'm in the UK so that shit's actually a big deal instead of just being Tuesday. Got shut down for the morning, it was awesome. Missed my most hated class. :D

I actually have had one lockdown myself. Someone brought like a wooden prop to school or something.

It was actually a really miserable experience. Our whole music class had to be stuffed in this little closet.

I got cramps from being forced into an awkward position for like 20 minutes.
