GreivousKhan vs. Yoshua171

Ok you two wrote very detailed posts and pushed each other. I would have preferred to let you two duke it out until only one is left standing.

1-Characters

Both are excellent at describing your characters, their weapons, what they see etc. You both raised the bar and matched each other quite well. This turned out to be an interesting match to read.
Yoshua171: 3.85
GreivousKhan:. 3.85

2-Introduction

Wow. Your introductions are detailed, well written with some minor issues but my goodness. The reader is pulled into the characters with such a deft touch that I learned more of them and their motivations. Well done. Your introductory/stance posts had a gravity about them that painted them both as deadly combatants.

Yoshua171: 3.90
GreivousKhan: 3.90

3-Action
Yoshua171, you always write action nicely. I think you have a good eye towards writing action. I like how you make notice of the minute details of the arena which add a depth to your writing which enhances. 3.80
GreivousKhan, you have grown. You have developed depth, and there is a wonderful mesh of your actions, your opponents and with a good partner your writing elevates to almost cinematic levels. 3.80

4-Attack/Conflict

This was really touch because you both are excellent tacticians when employing your powers, weapons and movements. You continually apply your individual ‘magics’ in such a way that the reader can visualize the heat, the swarming clouds and present a dramatic foreboding that is fun to read.
Yoshua171: 3.90
GreivousKhan: 3.90

5-Defense/Resolution
I applaud you both on defense. You kept the reader (me) engrossed with glimpse of the characters internal monologues, that helped explain in detail the defense and why. These were not simple posts of defense. I think that you both have elevated my expectations of what arena fighters should produce in the arena.

Yoshua171- 3. 85
GreivousKhan - 3.90

6- Creativity
I am blown away. First Yoshua you are a very good writer and present a complete picture for what and how a character should been seen in the arena. Some minor issues that broke the story for me, but overall if you stay, your creativity and the concepts you developed will keep you constantly in the top of the leader board. 3.90

Khan, you always display creativity in your characters. The shift from the undead characters you are known for and fully developing this character, the backstory and the ‘humanity’ have propelled you beyond the writer you were last year. This character has a depth that I found lacking in some of your other characters. 3.90

Score: Yoshua171- 23.20
GreivousKhan -23.25

While I greatly appreciate the praise/feedback, and I don't intend to leave the arena at large, I would just like to say this.

The fact that Raelis managed to even hold up against Khazna who was superior in the following manners...

Speed.
Perceptual acuity.
Magical nullification.
Attack range and breadth.

...is testament not to Khazna being balanced in a mid-tier tournament, but to my own ability to turn a shitty situation into something barely manageable.

I wish MelonHead luck in defeating a character that takes away most of his abilities and is also physically/perceptually superior to him in every way, but should he lose it would summarily prove my point that Khazna is FAR from mid-tier, even without his top speed.

To Greivous. I enjoyed our fight in the sense that it was a challenge to counter a character in a place which weakened mine (both in terms of movement and in terms of sapping his energy) and versing a character that matched him in perceptual speed, but removed most of his magical might and was capable of countering him even in base physical combat based on Khazna's speed and ability to cut through essentially anything with his blades.

It was challenging and it helped me learn some things about Raelis' peak abilities.

However, did I find it fun to fight a character that is clearly of higher tier than Raelis. Not really...honestly. It was infuriating multiple times. Perhaps in the future you should reconsider Khazna's tier. Just saying.

I know I need to rewrite some of Raelis' CS to be more clear about his abilities so yeah.

Oh yeah, I have a single question for you @GreivousKhan; If you had replied to my latest post, did Khazna have a way out of that maneuver?

Wow, I never thought I'd edge a victory. I appreciate the feedback Skalla and this will likely strive to push me further. I'm glad I was given this chance to flesh out Tablurath as a character and I think he's among my favorite PC's I have ever made in the arena. I think if Raelis had been given room to actually take flight this probably would have ended very differently.

Good game @yoshua171-for realz- and that's not even to just be polite. As far as I can remember only one person has ever pushed me this hard in the arena and that was Lyzan in old guild (though I do recall facing SEED but that was more a slaughter). So probably me second favorite fight in the arena. Shame it never got within sword fighting range (much like my fight with Lyzan!! Why won't people fight me in melee! D=)

To be honest, maybe because I was the opponent, I actually felt Tablurath was at a disadvantage. XD

Since he did not have Raelis's speed, mobility, strength, range and most importantly his durability (Khazna being purely a Saber class relying on physical damage has no way to prep offensive attacks.) I suppose its all a matter of perspective really.

As for the last post, we may never know! I'd have to start writing a post and getting into his shoes again, but I did think before going to bed after I read it was when Khazna had cut a thread during the match until then. Since the loses he had was when he pulled one thread of energy of course. Oh well.
