@Aisling"That would be my assistant Iliana, and quite the worker", Dr. Sloan responded. "Iliana!", Dr. Sloan called.

"Yes, doctor?", Iliana came outside the house.

"This is Lady Morticia Lugosse, heir to the house of Lugosse and our land owner", Dr. Sloan said, the last part with a playful tone.

"How do you do, madam?", Iliana politely responded, "I'm Iliana, Dr. Sloan's assistant".

"Lady Lugosse is accompanying me around town. Would you care to join us?"

"I'm afraid I must decline, doctor. I still need unpack most of the boxes and make preparations for the arrival of your equipment. If you excuse me, please have a good day, madam", Iliana excuses herself and went back inside the house.

"Ah, that girl doesn't know how to take a break, but she's a good person. She keeps me in check most of the time", Dr. Sloan gave a small chuckle. "So, shall we continue with this endeavor?"

Bruneau Publishing House

Oscar Bruneau looked outside, the sunlight still glistening. He had made sure to keep the curtains up to an extent, so that no sunlight could go piercing through him. The pain of sunlight would have been a true, poignant feeling, more real than any he had felt since the time when he was a mortal, but it would have been inconvenient to feel it now. He held a smoking pipe in his hand, freshly smoked. He felt that the two of them had much in common, inasmuch as they were both so concerned with death. It had an ever so sweet nature, creating a sense so pleasurable that men became addicted to it, yet made them smell of smoke and ash to all who came in contact with him. It gave him no relief, and brought no addiction upon him, as he was a creature of the night, not a mere mortal who was susceptible to the minor inconveniences of normal life. He nonchalantly crushed the still smoking wooden pipe in his hand; it had lived long enough. Parts of wood sunk into his hand, making him bleed.

”Drowning in your romanticism again?” Anna Maria said.

Oscar Bruneau had never even heard her come in. His spies were simply so good, not even he was immune to their abilities.

“If it isn’t you,” Oscar said. “What do you come to report now?”

“Just that the denizens are finally truly arriving.”

“Ah, good. I’m sure that Lydia shall take fine care of her proper introductions.”

”She has her ways and I have mine.”

“And the both of you do it well.”

”Another thing. Anca sends for you. Perhaps when you aren’t eying young saplings, you could care to meet your actual lover. And with thanks and gratitude.”

Anna Maria departed as soon as she had arrived. It was unlikely that Oscar would be unable to find her again unless he summoned for her. He had won the loyalty of all of those who had followed him in different ways. Oscar won the unmatchable stealth of Anna Maria, and he dealt with her causticness and kept absolutely no secrets between them. He would heed her word, and see his beloved flower Anca, who he loved above the others that he had engaged in intimacy with.

In Town

[@RemipaAwesome]

Lydia Antonescu had arrived at the house of one of the newly arrived denizens of the village. She kept up a bright smile, and exhibited a cute, coquettish, and friendly aura. She had the looks and mannerism of a happy, excitable, and naïve teenage girl. With both her flirty attitude and her natural good looks, Lydia had managed to use seduction as well as the more common ways of gaining information. She knocked on the door of the new denizens of this house, intent on gaining as much information as she could. No one had ever seen through her clever disguise and reassuring smiles.

Hank had finished unpacking, his daughter was out doing something that he had no interest in, though he was going to have to talk to her about respect once she got back, and chances are for the rest of there immortal lives. He looked at how he had arranged the place, heavy furniture was placed around awkwardly, light furniture seemed in the way. This, was part of Hank's paranoia. He figured even in a "safe haven" for vampires it's better safe then sorry.

Hank was about to head upstairs to lock up some of the gear he had brought, then he heard a knocking on the door. He had a few options of how to respond to this situation. Most that came into his mind involved removing heads or legs. He had to remind himself that he wasn't in an isolated cabin in the middle of nowhere, chances are this was a new neighbor who wanted to meet him. "Hold on, I'm coming!" Hank went down the stairs and opened a box he was intending on bringing upstairs, inside was a large collection of tools and blades. He grabbed a machete and its sheath hooking it to his belt.

Hank went up to the door and opened it. "Hello?" Hank stood with the door open, but made sure to keep his blade out of eye sight.

Lydia looked onwards to the face of the new inhabitant. He was at least willing to come out of his house, and meet her. Lydia hoped that he would be friendly, because unfriendly people had remained the people hardest to convert to her side.

“Hello,” Lydia said to the man, coming closer to him as he opened the door. “Oh, it’s just that I heard that you were one of the new people in time. Oh, don’t worry, word just spreads fast about this kinda thing. Very fast.”

Lydia offered her hand for a friendly handshake. “My name is Lydia, Lydia Antonescu. What’s yours?”

Morticia smiled under her veil. A very nice looking female is what she would describe Lydia Antonescu.
"That is too bad that you must work so hard, Miss Lydia Antonescu. It has been a pleasure meeting you. Perhaps we shall meet again. Morticia spoke softly.
"Which way shall we go,Dr. Sloan? To the west is someone's animal pen. i don't know who owns that one but my animal pen is to the north. I have what is considered a prized pen. I have a true lineage of my creatures and I must extend them soon for I more coming. Now if we head to the east is the Site of The Torture of the Sun. I'll leave the choice to you."

"Hmmm", Dr. Sloan responded, "Then let's go east. It seems quite an intriguing place".
Dr. Sloan had heard of the torture of the sun but only rumors passed down from closed circles. It was one of the events that sparked his interest in leaning his experiments towards a more "vamp-centric" path. He, of course, was also working in curing or at least combating the lethality of ultraviolet light to his species. He had been successful in creating a lotion that allows someone like him to walk in the sun for a couple of hours. But only to be used in emergencies due to being only successful in reducing the sun rays to an minor, but quite annoying, stinging.

Morticia smiled as she turned to the east."Sounds fine to me. I have a plan to put mausoleum there commemorating those of us who died there. I don't remember you being one of the accused......" Morticia spoke calmly even though she was quite exciting for she could get someone's opinion about her project. As she walked, as asked a couple questions.
"Dr Sloan, if I may ask you a few questions about my project?

Hank reached his hand out awkwardly, it was rare he would meet someone who didn't try to kill him. Now this was the second person he was shaking hands with today. "Hank, Hank Miller." He said trying to hide the uneasy feeling. "Are you new as well? Or is that population smaller then I thought?"

Hank had no idea how many people were new here, or if they were apart of the community for a long time. There's a lot Hank was trying to learn. What he did know is that he felt safer around people here then he did ever before. Especially with his only family back with him again.

@Aisling"Yes", Dr. Sloan responded, "We are not from here. But I still heard about the incident through closed circles of acquaintances. That's how I came to learn about this place and your family".
....
"Sure thing, madam", Dr. Sloan eagerly responded, "Ask away".

Morticia was glad that the good DR. Sloan was willing to speak to her and maybe even on her own terms.
"I am not sure if you hear the story in its complete truth from beginning to the end. Allow me to tell it for I was one of those that were called 'The Accused' in the end.

By this time Morticia had to stop at the end of the road in tears. She held herself upright by a tree as she tried to compose herself to finish the story.

Dr. Sloan remained quiet. He was listening attentively to the story in a thoughtful manner. Lady Lugosse seemed like a proud being so Dr. Sloan gave her some space by looking away as Morticia couldn't help but shed a few tears. Such a tragedy, Dr. Sloan never imagined such peaceful village had a terrible past. Once Lady Lugosse seemed better, Dr. Sloan once again looked at Morticia to hear the end of such a tale.

"Nope, I've lived here for many years now," Lydia said. "It's a pleasure to meet ya, Mr. Hank Miller. If you don't mind me asking, is there a Mrs. Miller?"

@Aisling "I see", Dr. Sloan contemplated the story, "What happened to the adults? It looks like the previous villagers are not here to be found". Dr. Sloan was silently walking side by side with Morticia. Looking ahead with a expression of deep thought. He was analyzing the story, the trial seemed rather odd, as if it was hiding something. As a man of science Dr. Sloan was always in search for the truth. This story intrigued him even more, perhaps he'll look for clues later on.
Or maybe he was over analyzing it, as he tends to do from time to time. Hazards of the trade and all.

"Once I was saved along with one cousin, we went to America. Everyone that was alive was sent somewhere in the world. We were not told where anyone was taken. For a hundred years, I lived where no one knew me as a vampyre. Only one person knew where everyone was sent. It was to each individual to keep in contact with the contact person.

I can hear the screams of pain, the crying, being under bodies of my friends......... My last look at this place was looking back at this cage and the pile of animal blood in case any other vampyre happen to be alive. I can't see how but there is always the remote possibility.

I plan on placing an octagonal mausoleum here behind the iron cages. Each side would be dedicated to one leading family. What do you think of the idea?" Morticia asked.

@Aisling "It would be a nice gesture", Dr. Sloan said in a soft voice, "A way to remember the past so that we can learn and avoid it in the future". Dr. Sloan started looking around a bit more until he was satisfied. He turned towards Morticia and in an upbeat voice said, "Well", Dr. Sloan clapped, "that's that". Dr. Sloan started becoming more active, "Let's change the mood by letting me invite you a cup at the local tavern. I haven't had the taste of Romanian plum wine in a while. What say you, Madam?".

That... That had been the second time today had asked about his wife. He wasn't angry about this, though he hated thinking about her, especially when he had seemed to find a safe haven. "She... She passed away a while back. Not long after K..." He stopped himself, he was trying to respect his daughter's change in names. "Kylie's, birth actually." Hank showed little emotion, that was something he was generally good at. Though some emotions did show at times, all of which he wished he was better at controlling.

These included, Anger, Being pissed off, Vengeance, or pretty much anything else that could cause him to lose it on someone. Hank took his spare hand off the handle to the blade, he saw no reason to use it. "How about you Lydia? You here alone?"

Morticia smiled as she looked at DR. Sloan.
"Perhaps it is time to put the mourning clothes away and move on with life. My cousin died 3 months ago......Yes, I will take your offer of a glass of wine. Plum is not a favorite of mine but I do enjoy raspberry wine from time to time." Morticia decided as she lifted the black veil and place it on the back side of her hat. She smiled softly at Dr Sloan then turned to head back to the village.

@Aisling Dr. Sloan gave a small hop and clicked his heels together and then proceeded to escort Morticia into town. "By the way", Dr. Sloan added, "feel free to use my medical expertise as you which, madam. My title is not just for show!". Dr. Sloan twirled his hand and stopped in a pompous pose.

"Yeah, it's just me," Lydia said, innocently playing with her hair. "But I don't mind so much. Say, Kylie? Is that perhaps your daughter?"
