The idea for Gangs of Gotham is simple. Each of us would be Roleplaying a character vying for control of Gotham city. Preferably, we’d all be playing as one of Batman’s many incredible supercriminals that are so bad they're great! We would then each establish our territory and begin to expand; recruiting our own themed gang, taking control of contraband routes, buying off or killing off the Police, or even trying to establish our territory through politics.

Of course, if you feel limited by the amazing likes of Two-Face, Riddler, Penguin, Joker, Black Mask, (etc.) then of course, I’m open to playing as non-Gothamite baddies like Luthor, Vertigo, etc. Just try to keep it in the DC universe (or make up your own up-and-comer!)

Obviously, there’s that whole part of Batman coming in to fix the mess, so I would probably play as him and make him significantly less omnipotent so we can all enjoy tearing Gotham to shreds.

Anyone interested? (Ideas are very welcome!)

This is an awesome idea. I am in. However, It'd be better if we were free to make up our own villains instead of the canon ones. Maybe created an analogue of Gotham City? With a different hero (played by GM) and all players create their villains.

Okay, I do like this. I, however, like the canonical location of Gotham; even if all the villains are custom, Gotham makes a perfect setting for villains to rise and fall like that (ala the new Gotham TV show), and having the almighty Batman looming overhead makes things extra interesting I think.

But if more express interest in something all new altogether, I'm totally down for something like that!

I'd be interested in doing this. I tried this once on another site and got no followers, though I agree with Sadko, having our own villains is better.

Working on fleshing out the details; as of now, focusing on build-a-villain with the option to play as canons if they can be played well.
I also am open to the idea of creating a Gotham-analogue city with a new hero, if there is support for such. And if there is any other input at all, it is very much welcome and appreciated.

I still say keep Gotham and the Batman.

So I'm not a fan of posting throughout the update process, just have fatih that changes are being made and I will post when I have something conclusive.

HOWEVER, I am more than open to all ideas; be they about mechanics or freeform or anything of the sort, so don't hesitate to chime in!

If I may suggest each gang/Villain should have goal of sorts, Like the Penguin's was really to get rich. The Joker Kill the batman/ get him to break his rule. Two-Face equal opportunities.

@LordZell Good idea, but also remember some of us may create our own villians.

Each could have their own desires as well or cope some from the OV
