I agree, especially when one of the best genjutsu clans is banned lol

While the Uchiha may be banned, OC Clans can be made to fill up the gap but my creative juices aren't working atm so I aint making a new clan or bloodline anytime soon.

I wouldn't have a single problem with creating a new genjutus/bloodline based around genjutsu, its more like I don't feel spending 1-2 hours on a proper character, just to end up not being able to join due to the limited slots situation :')

I respect that you guys must be busy at the moment, but I just want to know when you'll have the chance to post your previous CSs up. I'm hoping that we can start this RP as soon as we can and not fall into the trap of waiting too long to start to the point where people begin to lose interest :)

Genjutsu just like Telekinesis and Mind Magic in an RP all share one very specific flaw. They cannot be "dodged". It is incredibly hard to play a character which targets the minds of others. Roleplaying Genjutsu is a chore to write and go up against, and also remember that even though the characters in this RP are supposed to be above average, they are still genin. Low level Genjutsu doesn't do much against most enemies we would face and high level Genjutsu are a complete hit or miss. Either they kill your brain, or your enemy sees through them. It is an incredibly static way of fighting, which is why the Sharingan has -so many abilities-. The Byakugan actually makes sense, it is a visual jutsu which works like a filter that helps the user see things that are otherwise hidden. The sharingan is all over the place.

Playing a genjutsu character would get dull for you very fast since almost every single "Mind magic" technique is always "Plot No Jutsu". You look at your enemy, they go ape shit, you walk away. It's not the most satisfying situation. Also, genjutsu is rather cheap overall. You clash blades with your enemy, it doesn't work...so you look at them very intently and they fall over.

Role playing Genjutsu takes a lot of skill to manage properly.

To be honest, I think Genjutsu is managable if you use it among other elements. Going pure Genjutsu would be hard yes, but using it supportive/in combination with other skills makes it useable with ease imo.

Since I don't want this RP to die before we even start, I will be kick starting the IC tonight. Those who's characters have already been accepted have the permission post after reading my post. For those who haven't posted their CSs yet, post it in the OOC for me to review, and then you are allowed to get post la posting.

I see... I wouldn't be able to change that without rewriting her entire backstory, so I tried to justify it a bit.

@geminironin Heyo, by the way, you're character is accepted. I think it'll take too much time for you to write a completely different CS, so you can go post la post in the Character tab now :)

Artifact, if you decide to make another character, we'll look it over and you'll be able to join immediately or after whatever changes would be necessary if it came down to that.

However, after that, we've decided leave it at what it is, no more new characters. If Art doesn't want to make a character, we'll leave it at what it is now.

Okay, so I've just updated the rules. Again, since I don't want this RP to die, please reply to other posts as soon as you possibly can. I know life can be a bitch, but I would really appreciate it if you could reply to people's posts. I want this to move nice and smoothly so everything doesn't get thrown in the dust again.

The deadline for introduction posts is Friday 27th. If we manage to get all our posts in by then, we can advance the plot.

I have told Jay that if people do not post soon, that we should continue the story without them and without pause. Jay wants to wait until Friday, after that we're no longer waiting for people, we'll just keep continuing the story and people can jump in where they feel they fit in.
