It's been 307 days since the world went dark.
For most, the suffering was unimaginable. Entire cities were wiped out. The population reduced to a tiny fraction of what it once was. Death opened his jaws and bit down on the world. Some, however, slipped through the cracks in his teeth. Though they were few in number, there were survivors out there. The number was smaller by the day, but still, any given State had their fair share of refugee camps and communities. If you were lucky enough to find a secure, clear place to live, with trustworthy people around you, then you had a good shot at trying to have a normal life.
Around 33 miles outside of Philadelphia, PA, there is a small army training facility. It was virtually abandoned within a week of the pandemic. By day 13, it had been occupied by a group of 40 refugees from Philadelphia. Since then, the base has been fortified and a small community is now thriving. The population sits at around 70, growing due to new strangers arriving every now and then. It's been a month since someone died of a zombie bite. There are still perils, of course, as runs must be made to maintain supplies, but the people who live within it are able to sleep easy. Most, however, are unprepared for the horrors that lie outside of the base. If a day came that they no longer had the walls to protect them, they would surely struggle. And that day may be far closer than they all anticipate.

We'll start off with a small group, 4-8 probably, for starters. People may come and go over the course of the RP, but I don't want to start us off too big. I'm basing this in the Walking Dead universe for simplicities sake, so you have a sort of idea about the rules and nature of zombies. You don't have to have read the comics or watched the show to join, but if you need any kind of reference, check that out. As a side note, we won't be crossing paths with the characters of the show. Strictly OC.
I know the zombie genre is done a lot, but I really love the character building opportunities it opens. I want an RP that focuses on the humans involved. The story is important, sure, but the main priority here is interesting characters. That means that I will, of course, not be accepting any "Mary Sue" characters. I'm sure you're all very capable, though. Because it's High Cas, I expect a certain standard of writing. Mainly quality - quantity isn't too important, as long as you write more than a line. I encourage collaboration in conversation situations.
In regards to activity, it isn't something I'm too totalitarian on. If we're waiting on you to post, try and do that as soon as possible. If you drop off the face of the Earth then, the harsh reality is, your character will get killed off... which isn't too unusual in a zomb apocalypse.
Anyway, before I go any further... anyone in?
