Well considering the death of all the Jedi as soon as 66 was executed, and Hawk has a point, The Jedi could sense what had happened

I would assume most of them just happened to stumble upon it. I also assumed must don't leave once they find it, so word of mouth is just moot. broadcasting its location just seems like a death wish as well...

Kinda like a luck of the draw, but I could be completely fucking wrong and stupid for saying something like this idk m8

Telepathy? Jedi don't have telepathy.

Worse still... if there was some sort of Telepathy thing going on Vader and The Emperor would be in fits laughing on the floor trying to find the strength to issue orders to the fleet to wipe out the sanctuary.

I also think it would take a bit longer to get the word out. After all, the story involves the "last of the survivors". If the sanctuary were put into play instantly entire orders would be showing up instead of the few survivors of each.

starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Telepathy

idk according to the wiki they can.

Edit:Wouldn't say it's a direct type of telepathy, nor would all jedi be able to do it.

Not to divulge from the current topic, but perhaps a new thread with Ada as the GM is in order?

The wiki must be referring to some obscure comic book or novel. I just know that Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka and every Jedi from the clone wars did not have telepathy.

They used comm-links and if they became captured they were pretty much screwed.

They could project simple concepts and emotions like: Danger! I'm over here. Help!

Even then the range couldn't be all that great since there are countless times the Jedi were searching for their lost allies.

Well I read the wiki and apparently telepathy only had a decent range if there was a strong emotional connection, but it most cases it would be short range.

I believe Luke and Leia had this goin on. Though I doubt most jedi would have this connection so...

Saesee Tiin, that guy from the clone war with the horns could use telepathy, and again, not really long range so ye your point pretty much still stands.

I had this discussion concerning Luke, Vader and Leia using telepathy during Empire Strikes Back a few times before. I don't know if they actually did. When Vader says, "Luke. Come to me.", for all we know Luke only feels a yearning, a desire and knows it comes from his father.

Also, when Luke calls out to Leia he simply calls out, "Hear me...". It's not like he says, "Hey Leia, I'm hanging from a weather vane beneath the city and could use some help!". I figure Leia just feels pain, since Luke is in a helluva lot of pain, despair, and a great deal of convoluted emotions from over that-a-ways. After all, she and Landon still had to look around and Lando was shocked when he finally spotted the poor Jedi clinging to the weathervane.

Mind you, by the same token, I could be completely wrong. It's very open to interpretation.

In my opinion, the force which exists between all things, carries the emotion or the feeling through itself but the Force isn't sapient. It's like talking to a cat or a dog. Words generally don't make sense to an animal. Sure they may come to understand a rare few but cats and dogs understand emotions, basic impulses better. Since your transportation medium has no concept of language, you can only send what it in terms it understands. If Anakin tries to get the force to "Tell Obi-wan there is danger", the force doesn't understand but a feeling of fear and alarm to the one that is close to Anakin like a brother is something it may understand. This would make the close friends, relations aspect of the "telepathy" make more sense.

I don't see why it's even relivent, call it sensing danger, call it telepathy, either way someone will disagree, I assume it is telepathy since there's all sorts of other things like that, such as teleporting, you rarely see teleportation, it's rare, maybe its the same for telepathy, I'd assume so. Either way, whether it was or wasn't telepathy in the movies seems rather moot.

Well... if you go by the Wookiepedia a Jedi can jump out of a ship in orbit naked, survive the six thousand degrees of heat created by reentry, then fly around inside a globular force field while flinging about force bolts from his or her palms.

I rather imagine the Jedi singing, "I am Iron Man" at that point.

Needless to say, I don't respect the Wookiepedia.

What year should it be, we seem to have skewed ideas about this, I don't want it more than a year after order 66 was executed, seems entirely to long,

I'd agree with the new thread but we can bang out details here so that the OOC can remain fresh.

I'd suggest anywhere between six months and a year. That gives the emperor a bit of time to wipe out the other force orders and send them into hiding.
