I don't think all of us are too good at the lingo. We have smatterings here and there. Because many of us have done Military RPs in the past. And brushed up abit.
Alot of my lingo comes from video games really. I learned compass and "o'clock" bearings from ARMA and of all places Warhammer 40k Space Marine when I was a member of a clan that used military-like tactics. Fire teams, and the like. We'd often fill up one whole side of a lobby, deal out roles to differant team members, depending on their strengths, use differant callsigns for each team, have differant teams on differant communications so we all weren't overlapping, with a general party made up for when we weren't in a match etc.
Learned compass bearings with Konrad in ARMA. 090, 180, 000 etc. High, low, etc. I can't count the times Konrad had saved out lives, after I learned mind you, when he'd see something, shout out, "340, high on the ridge!" Spin around and see two guys trying to draw a bead on us. Course I was our designated autoriflemen, once you know where you're firing with a weapon that has 150 rounds, it doesn't matter if you can't hit them, the fact you've got a wall of rounds flying at them is what you are all about.
Just as long as you're willing to learn, and look at things in a differant light, who the heck cares if you don't know how. Just roll with it and do the best you can.
