Name: Raphael “Ralph” Dibny – Elongated Man

Personality: Fairly nerdy like Barry but unlike him, Ralph wears his dorky nature like a badge of honor. Despite his impressive deduction and police investigation skills he remains seemingly carefree and loving what he does. When he does get to business Ralph often goes the practical route and while diligent won't waste extra energy to get to the goal. Frankly he sees himself doing the good work, with the wife who makes him always happy, and has a life that is hard to complain about. Its always evident in how he responds everyday when someone asks him how his doing. “Never had a bad day in my life.”
History: Ralph Dibny at an early age was a tough one to figure out in how his future would pan out. In class he was your run of the mill class clown. Always with the quip and joke that although never intentionally hurtful to anyone still got him in detention a time or two. On the other hand even though he never seemed attentive his work said otherwise. Always spot on and if it wasn't for his behavior “issues” he would be considered a top student.
Ralph had always wanted to be a detective, something like out of Sherlock Holmes or the Hardy Boys. Sure it seemed like a nerdy goal in life, but Ralph knew he had what it took and was ready. College proved in a lot of ways it was all true. There he proved his worth and on top of it found his life change completely. He wasn't the most popular guy in school or college, but Ralph never minded, so one night when he got brought along to a frat house's kegger where he watched all the popular guys get all the popular girls. He didn't think much of it until he realized one of the girls at the party only seemed to be noticing him. She was Susan MacDonald, a student who was also perusing a career in detective work. The two left the kegger to have a quiet stroll and get to know one another, beginning a beautiful relationship between the two.
When they graduated both Ralph and Sue moved to Central City where they were recruited by CCPD. The two worked generally away from one another and didn't mind it that much, made seeing one another all the nicer. Ralph quickly grew in status at the workplace, and even made good friends, one of whom being Berry Allen in forensics. They became such good buddies that when Ralph proposed to Sue Barry agreed to be a best man at the wedding. Everything seemingly was going well for Ralph.
One night though Ralph was investigating a break in at a chemical plant when he found the criminal having returned to the scene. A gun fight broke out which left Ralph severely unprepared since, although he had proper training with guns, he barely used them since he hated the idea of it. In all the chaos Ralph took a bullet to the arm, causing all life in it to immediately end. In the commotion though the bullet wound also took a splash of a highly experimental compound made from a rare Indian plant. Ralph eventually caught and had the criminal arrested but had to go to the hospital. Where the next morning he found himself a floppy mess of elongated limbs and neck.
In the resulting years only Susan has ever truly found out, and it was her suggesting that Ralph donned a costume and used his powers to provide an extra advantage in his work outside of being Ralph Dibny. He never really came up with any cool superhero name other than Elongated Man which he finds silly. Otherwise though his second identity as Elongated Man has given the city's police valuable evidence in countless cases.
Appearance:
On top of the suit, which was made to mold and work with his powers, Ralph wears a domino style black mask to hide his identity (Think what they wear in The Incredibles). Otherwise he's about 6'1 when normal and has a tendency to wear at work button ups that range from the traditional to things much more garish like Hawaiian print to bowling shirts. All with khaki or jeans and sneakers.
